As a novice of woodworking, I was blown-away by the intricate woodwork and finishings throughout the home. The three ladies that lead our tour of the home shared many interesting details about the property, its restoration, and details of Clara and Henry's years at the estate. Many of the restoration stories, like finding a tub for Henry's bathroom or how Clara had a section repainted white were intriguing. Even though much of the home, especially the second floor, is still being restored it was a fascinating experience.

There wasn't much actually open amongst the majestic-looking buildings while I was there, but the picnic area was hopping. The signage was bilingual-in English and Arabic-and what appeared to be a Yemeni wedding seemed to be taking place. The juxtaposition of the estate of an industrialist (or robber baron, or visionary, or racist, depending on your point of view) with a distinctive immigrant community makes for a striking reflection on Americana. The grounds include some gardens, and a lake with a path around it. Access to the river is limited, but it didn't look like that impressive of a river. The greenery is more worthwhile.

I came here to attend the wedding of a friend of mine last weekend. From the outside, it's a pretty unsuspecting building - kind of looks like your typical, kinda boring event hall. Nothing spectacular. But when you pull open those double doors..... You get your breath taken away. Intricate molding, lots of ornate lighting... The place is just GORGEOUS. I was truly blown away. The building is also freaking HUGE. My friend and her husband are both Lebanese, so they naturally had a humongous wedding (over 700), and they all fit inside that building. I was informed by another friend of mine, also a guest at the wedding, that she had recently been to another wedding at Bint Jebail that was over 900 guests. Holy crap that place holds a lotta people. The place is seriously beautiful. If you have the chance to check it out by being invited to an event there, take advantage of it. It's amazing!

If you don't have cash, you can just sit at the table and order with the QR code and they bring it to you. We tried so cheesy and the shawarma truck. Everything was good. I think we like the shawarma the best. We also tried Nami for their Japanese crispy sandos. The sandos did not use the traditional bread that is supposed to be used so the taste was not what I'm used to. The filling was also different. It was more of a cream cheese instead of a cream taste. Also, different than what I'm used to. Still a really good dessert. I will definitely come back and try much other things.

That's the only potential "drawback" really, like if there's too many people you simply might struggle to find a seat. It can and does get completely full. At least you can still take your food to go! I love the set up of having food and drinks inside AND food trucks outside. What a treat. There's coffee, boba, ice cream, sushi, tacos, burgers, chicken and waffles?! And there's some little shops, at least one, which had jewelry when I went. Overall, if you are meeting with someone to chat, come here. If you're hungry, I assure you'll find something. It's good for a casual date or catch up with friends and family. High energy but not chaotic.

The Women working the club house yesterday lacked the basic customer service skills someone should have. Gave me attitude when I asked to extend my rain check that I got a month ago, because my friend paid for my round of golf before I got to the course and use my soon to expire rain check. She basically said, "our rates went up, NO", Which made no sense as I'd obviously be willing to pay the difference. If she was a little sincere or apologetic, I wouldn't care...but this attitude she had was ridiculous. Before I even went in to ask her about extending my rain check, one of the guys I was playing with said "good luck, she has an attitude"... Fix this issue ambassador. You need friendly energetic workers who appreciate customers. I come there regularly and thinking I should change venues now..
