DO NOT USE! We used Huntington in AH for tutoring during COVID in 2020/2021, and at the time, they were great. Unfortunately, our recent experience with their ACT prep has been the complete opposite. The level of service has gone downhill dramatically. We had an awful experience from start to finish. They routinely failed to answer phone calls or emails, and scheduling sessions was an absolute nightmare. Before our daughter's second ACT attempt, we spent weeks trying to get her scheduled for a session. They finally responded -- after she had already taken the test. At that point, the service we were paying for was essentially useless. We still had a significant number of prepaid hours remaining and began trying to get a refund in April/May. After months of trying to get someone to address the issue, we were finally told that our refund had been officially processed mid-July and that it would take 6-8 weeks to receive our money. It has now been more than eight weeks, and we still have not received the refund. And, once again, they are not answering phone calls or emails. At this point, we are unfortunately having to consider getting a lawyer involved just to recover money we are owed. It is an enormous frustration and completely unacceptable for a company that we trusted and paid a substantial amount of money to. To make matters worse, our daughter's ACT score did not improve significantly. Several of her classmates used The Think Tank for ACT prep and had a much better experience, including noticeable score improvements. We deeply regret not choosing that route. This was not just a disappointing tutoring experience. It had a real impact on our daughter's college options and the opportunities available to her. We counted on Huntington to provide the services we paid for and to honor its commitments. Instead, we experienced poor communication, terrible scheduling, months of frustration over a refund, and disappointing results. We trusted them to deliver, and they failed us when it mattered most. Based on our recent experience, we absolutely would not recommend them. DO NOT USE. read more

Huntington was a great resource for helping improve skills in all sections of the ACT. After taking their ACT Prep course I was able to increase my score from a 23 to a 30. Personally, I was able to really get a grasp on reading and science, two sections I had really struggled with previously. If you are looking to bump up your score a few points to help get into that dream school Huntington is the way to go. I will admit I was hesitant at first and really did not look forward to spending several hours a week during my summer at a learning center, but after finding teachers that I really enjoyed working with it was no longer something I dreaded. The people there are very kind and always make sure you are comfortable with the instructor and material before moving forward . Overall, the class flew by and I was glad we made the investment. I blew my personal goal out of the water. Thanks Huntington! read more

Huntington Learning Center is an exceptional service. In late November of 2018, I began studying for the ACT through Huntington. The service was extremely professional. Each tutor is an expert in their field (English, Math, Reading, or Science) and I truly valued that part of Huntington. The learning environment was always quiet and calm, which was perfect for studying for the ACT. In addition, the customer service as Huntington was unparalleled. Tom (the owner) was always extremely friendly and available to talk about any issues I was having with the ACT. Besides the stellar service, the numbers speak for themselves. After just three months of consistent study for the ACT, I achieved my goal scores. The tutors provide the students with tips and tricks that Khan Academy and the normal ACT book don't provide. I would highly recommend this service to any student or family interested in a tutoring center. read more

This was my fourth child preparing for ACT. My son, Luc, tutored at another agency with no results. ACT score with no tutoring was the same score as ACT with tutoring at another agency. Because there was no change in ACT score, I looked for new tutoring. I was referred to Huntington Learning Center in Arlington Heights, Il. My son worked with Huntington for 13 sessions(normally 17 sessions, we were tight on time) in two weeks. He then took the ACT. Raised his overall ACT 5 points. I believe Huntington teaches strategy. They are very familiar with the ACT and know what's on it. They pass on that knowledge and strategies to their students so that the students have the greatest chance of doing their optimal best. I just wish I knew about them sooner to help my older kids. If you have a child who wants to improve their test scores, go talk to Tom at Huntington. They know their stuff!! read more

I went to Huntington Learning Center to improve my ACT score and they were able to help me increase it by 7 points. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to improve their ACT score or improve in certain subjects in school. Their methods of helping students improve is phenomenal with one on one tutoring. The tutors watched me take practice tests over and over and encouraged me to try different techniques for each section of the ACT. From there, the tutors were able to identify the best ways I should approach the test as well as identify my biggest weaknesses and most frequent mistakes regarding the ACT. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Huntington and their ways of helping students perform better on various types of academic work. read more

Huntington Learning Center gave my sons the tools achieve their targeted ACT scores...one by 4 points the other by 6. My son tells me it taught him so many other strategies and skills he has applied all across the board as a student...and also gave my younger son the confidence he needed walking into to standardized tests. I have recommended this Huntington Learning Center to many other parents, as Tom and Marcia have a competent, patient staff. First call that was made after Mom & Dad were to Tom to give him a big thank you when ACT scores were received. Highly recommend this test center for ACT prep. read more

My daughters recently completed ACT preparation at Huntington in Arlington Heights and found the experience to be very positive and worthwhile. After receiving high initial scores on their ACT as Sophomores, they were able to increase the scores by 3 & 4 points on their first real test sitting, which was much more than we expected. In particular, the owner and language arts tutor, Tom, and the math tutor, also named Tom, were outstanding. I highly recommend this test center for ACT preparation. read more

This location was recommended to me by a friend for my daughter, a junior at GBN. We opted for the 30-session plan to prep for ACT. Tom and the tutoring team are exceptional. My daughter had 2-hour sessions twice per week from December thru early April. Her ACT composite score improved by 6 points - we were thrilled. Her understanding of the test and strategies to use was palpable. Thank you Huntington Arlington Heights!! read more

Very professional and welcoming environment. They worked with my daughter for ACT prep and she increased 6 points. They targeted her weak areas and provided individualized instruction. She worked with different tutors and found each one to be invested in her grasping the concepts. Her grades in high school improved as well. I highly recommend this Huntington for any tutoring but especially ACT. read more

Definitely 5 stars - wish I would have gotten over the cost two years ago and signed my son up then. It's worth every penny you spend. My two oldest children participated in ACT prep programs at Huntington and were very pleased with their exam results, as well as the structure and flexibility of the program. We are fortunate to have this complement to the excellent education they've experienced in D25 and D214. We will definitely be sending our youngest child here when it's time for her college test prep. read more

Our 4th grade son had fallen behind in his language art skills, and Nicole and the bunch at Huntington in Arlington Heights helped him gain the confidence he needed to succeed. When he started, he was a full year behind. After 6 months in the program, he moved up a reading group and is getting A's on his spelling tests. I can't thank them enough. read more
