I attended the Project Management Academy PMP Boot Camp in March of 2013 with Asad Haque. The class was intense and the material rather intimidating. However, with Asad's professional, knowledgeable laid back approach, the class was engaging and the material was presented in a logical, well planned format. With copious amounts of material to digest, in a relatively short period of time, it seemed as though I would never be able to absorb the required information to pass the PMP exam. However, Asad kept reassuring those of us with some doubts that with additional self study time, success with the exam would come. Most boot camps that I have attended in the past fully prepared you to sit for the exam, usually the day after boot camp ended. We were told that this approach would not be desirable for the PMP. There simply is too much information that needs to be understood, as the breadth of the PMP exam is enormous. So, after sitting in this class, taking the mock exam (a great tool, although one that may not be necessarily a confidence booster) and then (and this is the important part), 3 weeks of study every evening for a couple of hours to review all of the material, using the PMBOK, as well as the Project Management Academy online tools (quite good), I thankfully passed on the first attempt. A buddy of mine took the class with me and had the same result. If you are looking to pass the PMP exam and get your PMP certification, GO TO THIS BOOT CAMP CLASS. Make sure that you look for the classes where Asad is the instructor. On a sidenote, keep in mind that for those that are actually looking to learn how to be a project manager, this is not the class for you. The assumption is (and to qualify for taking the PMP exam) you already have many years of experience in project management prior to taking this class or sitting for the exam. I attended Project Management Academy's PMP boot camp in Schaumburg, IL with Asad Haque in late August, 2012. I loved the way the material was presented---for me, it was much more logical than the PMBOK. Asad gave great examples to help illustrate the material. He was also very patient with our fairly large class of about 25...questions were not only welcomed (and believe me, I had many!) but encouraged. The three days were intense and I won't lie---it's a lot of material. The last day was spent taking a mock exam and then reviewing the answers...I really enjoyed this as it gave me a feeling of what to expect on the actual test date. Asad spent as much time as we needed going through the answers and explaining why, "C was the correct answer and why A, B, and D were not." After I left class, I was not able to look at the material for close to a week due to work commitments. But after that I spent most of my waking hours the next 10 days reviewing class notes, re-creating my "brain dump" and taking practice exams. When I had problems understanding certain concepts, I went back to not only my notes from class but the Project Management Academy website as well and listened to video lectures regarding the subject I needed help with...a HUGE resource! I am proud to say that three weeks to the day after class ended, I sat for my PMP exam and passed on the first try! But I would not have been successful without the boot camp and Asad...I can't say enough about the great program Project Management Academy has put together and the staff presenting the material. As a side note, I did find it helpful that my PMP application was completed prior to attending class. That way I didn't spend valuable time working on the application/documentation and could focus my attention on the boot camp and exam preparation. read more

I write this review having recently received my PMP. I attribute this in large part to what I gained from PMA's PMP Boot Camp program. It combined excellent on-line material, i.e. in depth PMBOK review, quizzes, mock exams and study guide materials with the boot camp class. I attended the four day Boot Camp in Shaumburg, IL in March and it provided a full set of course material and study guides. The class covered the PMBOK content and emphasized the degree to which each element had to be memorized, understood well, glossed over, etc. It outlined very well what to expect on the exam, and how to prepare yourself. Coming away with the additional insight of "how" to read and understand the exam questions was a tremendous benefit. The review of the key knowledge areas and processes with work examples of each helped greatly. When processing the shear amount of information in preparation for what one might be exposed to on the exam and having the concentrated information as a result of the class increases ones focus exponentially towards how to be prepared. I am fairly certain that I would have taken the exam more than once if I had not taken the course. I recommend it highly. PMA has an excellent guarantee to hold the class regardless of how few students can attend. I had a bad experience with another provider that postponed the class twice, and then I found PMA. It is hard to schedule and to get mentally prepared only to have the date changed. Our instructor was Asad Haque and he did a great job covering the material thoroughly and at a fair pace for all. Most people who plan to take the PMI PMP exam know the exam is a huge challenge. Not only do you need to understand Project Management, but you also need to understand the application process as well as what to expect when you actually go in to take the exam. The Project Management Academy helps equip you for all of that. I attended The Project Management Academy's PMP Exam Prep Course on March 2 - 4, 2013 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Schaumburg, IL. The facilities were nice and the instructor Asad Haque was excellent. He is a great communicator who knows the material, has real world experience to back in up and genuinely cares for his students. Although it took about a week to get all of the documentation in, that process when rather smoothly. I spent about 4 weeks preparing for the exam making use of the academy's online resources as well as others resources and taking numerous full length mock exams. I took the PMA boot camp class in Schaumburg in January '18, and Asad Haque was my instructor. In short, Asad is fantastic. I was very pleased to have him as my instructor and would recommend him to anyone who needs to take this training (or others that he offers). The first day, Asad was very clear in what the week would entail and said that by the end of the day we would feel fatigued and that our heads might be spinning. I thought it was hyperbole, but sure enough - he was right. He has taken and passed the PMP exam, so he has been in the shoes of the students in the boot camp and offered many helpful tips for studying and taking the exam. He knows the material incredibly well and can boil a lot of topics down very simply. To be able to do this with all the material you must learn and memorize is incredibly helpful. Asad was also very helpful during breaks in class to help me and others review our test application to ensure it met the standards. He also said he would be available for help after class each day, which he was, as well as after the boot camp ended, which he was as well! I personally emailed him at least twice with questions, and he got back to me within 48 hours each time. This was helpful to know I could still reach out to him after taking his class. This course is the real deal. If you've been contemplating the idea of getting this for some time, this is the place. You just need to determine if this is the time as it will require you to bring and recollect your experiences in the working world and framing it. This is exactly the best part of this course; it helps to organize your knowledge and experiences into the PMBOK standard; reading that by itself has helped alleviate my insomnia. They will not only provide you excellent materials, but the training that was delivered (in my case Mr. Haque) was spectacular. He brings many years of cross industry experience to the table and presents it in such a way that allows the concepts to sink in; random bouts of humor also help stay focused. Going into PMP exam prep, I knew that it was going to be very difficult material to understand and a difficult exam to pass. Without the Project Management Academy, I don't know if I would have made it through. Between the boot camp, materials, and instruction they provide I was able to take the boot camp and successfully pass the exam 5 weeks later. Within the boot camp itself, we had a very knowledgeable and engaging instructor, Asad Haque. Although the material was difficult, he taught in such a way that it was easier to understand and follow. Additionally, once the boot camp was completed the PMA website has numerous tools(practice questions, note cards, slide shows, etc.) to help you continue to prepare for the big day. If you find that that the boot camp and study tools are still not enough to prepare for the exam, they also offer weekly webinars and you can reach out to them directly. I was very impressed with the training provided by Project Management Academy. The location was great, the materials were well thought out and the class sizes were optimum. The key though to this class was having Asad as an instructor. I would attribute my passing with the least amount of self-prep to the great coaching he provided during the session. Asad was very effective as a presenter, very organized and he paced the daunting 4 day class very well. I was lucky that he happened to be filling in for another instructor in my area. I highly recommend taking a session with Asad and Project Management Academy. For career PMs like myself - it was the best way I could think of reinforcing specific test taking pointers that I had forgotten a long time ago. Asad having a British accent helps as it kinda sticks in your head for a couple of weeks after the class - you actually hear him in your head when you are reviewing the materials by yourself...an added plus... :-). All in all - good experience - definitely will sign up to attend other classes if Asad is coaching. I attended the August 21-24, 2017 Project Management Academy held in Milwaukee Wisconsin with instructor Anand Pulchan and passed the test recently on the first attempt, scoring above target in most areas. Anand was extremely competent and engaged with the class using real life examples to demonstrate various elements and processes of the PMBOK methodology. Anand was committed to helping the class achieve the level of understanding required to pass the exam. He provided specific tips, tricks, explanations, areas of focus, mechanisms for remembering and overall guidance. He also made himself available for any assistance outside of the class as needed. In addition, the Project Management Academy materials are very well organized, provided an excellent reference for studying, and put the PMBOK methodology into an easy to digest format. The online resources for practice testing were invaluable. If you follow the recommended preparation, review the tips and tricks closely, and leverage the materials, you will be prepared to pass the exam. I highly recommend this class. read more

Took the PMP Exam Prep Aug 26 through 29, 2013 in Schaumburg, IL. Course given by Mr. Asad Haque. Applied online on the Sunday, and everything was in order for me to start the course on Monday. Passed the exam on my first attempt, so was well worth taking the course. Mr Haque is an excellent presenter, sharing his wealth of experience in taking the PMI exams, giving many valuable exam hints. During the four hour exam I would often remember his advice about certain tricks that PMI uses, and this is what allowed me to pass the exam. The study material provided by the PMA is also excellent. It highlights what are the important definitions and where confusion arises, and what needs to be memorized. The course is overwhelming in the amount of information that needs to be absorbed, but Mr Haque's presentation skills keep my interest and attention over the four days. In conclusion, very good course. I highly recommend the Project Management Academy, and especially our presenter Asad Haque. read more

I took the course June 17 through 20, 2013 in Schaumburg and had Asad Haque as my instructor. I passed the test a week later with mostly above average results. I had never read the PMBOK before signing up with Project Management Academy. As soon as I signed up I had access to their video instruction and download materials--which I watched before classes. During class the instructor, Asad, brought a wealth of practical advice and tips to the course. He even offered to review our PMP applications and gave us advice on how best to present our experience to PMI. He also gave good advice about what we could expect in the application and exam process. After the course we were given access to a library of representative text questions so that we could maintain and improve our edge. I attended the March 4-7 class instructed by Asad Haque. This class, while intense, was one of the best classes I have attended during my professional career. Asad used easy to understand analogies that I reflected upon even during my PMP exam, which I happily passed the first try as guaranteed by the Academy. Asad was very willing to answer any questions (even after class and by email) and provided encouragement to me after my in-class exam prep was less than stellar. The packets, training guides, and website were also very useful for the exam and feel they were comprehensive of what was in the exam. I'm the world's newest PMP after passing the Project Management Professional exam on the first attempt yesterday! This is thanks to the support of Instructor Asad Haque of the Project Management Academy. I attended a boot camp led by Asad in mid-August 2019 in the Milwaukee, WI area. His presentation was effective and efficient, even though the content wasn't always interesting. The study tools provided were of excellent quality. I followed his advice for self-study between the boot camp and the exam, practicing until I achieved 84 on a practice exam. (I could have tested earlier but the test dates weren't available.) I felt comfortable and well-prepared throughout the exam and my test results were mostly above target. PS I did use some additional mnemonics (found online) to memorize the 49 processes. I thought I couldn't do it but Asad reassured me and the memory aids were the boost I needed to make it happen. read more

I took the course through Project Management Academy in February 2018 in Milwaukee, WI to prepare me for the PMP exam. I had not read the PMBOK book yet and the course was a really great way to jump start my learning and give me the important details so when I did read the book it all made sense. I enjoyed having others in the class from different industries and learning how they implement the different processes, tools and techniques. My instructor, Anand Pulchan, was fantastic. He provided real-life examples to better explain things, he showed us where to focus, and was so patient with our questions. He was also so open to helping us after the course ended, which I think is way beyond his responsibility. When I wanted to take the PMP exam prep class, I had no idea where to turn to. I signed up with PMA since it was offered very close by and I am gladI signed up with them. The materials (binders, laminates, mock exam on USB stick, etc.) are great but the best part is the quality of instruction. The instructor Asad Haque is a wonderful instructor, very knowledgeable, giving practice examples after every process and giving us tips on what to do and what not to do for passing the exam. He gave us the strategies on how to maximize the chances of passing the exam rather than just cram the material into our heads. I passed the exam on first try. Also PMA has done a great job of running the course in process group format rather than knowledge area format, unlike many other popular books. My employer had been promoting the PMP certification for some time and had rolled out a podcast-based prep course which was incredibly difficult to get through (admittedly I did not). I was later referred to the PMA course by a co-worker who had taken it and successfully passed the PMP exam. The class is intense and a lot of material is presented in order to achieve the contact hour prerequisite. After taking the course I passed the PMP with very little additional studying. My instructor, Asad Haque, was very knowledgeable and taught at a good pace to keep everyone engaged. The PMA's study materials were very helpful and informative. Asad Haque was our class instructor and did a wonderful job fostering a positive learning environment. He took as much time as was needed to explain the course materials but also kept pace so we finished modules on time. He was available before and after class time to answer questions and was very patient. I don't normally write reviews, but in this case I feel like I have to. PMA and my instructor, Wayne Brantley, are a large part of the reason that I recently became a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). I recently took the four-day PMP prep "boot camp". The course was well structured and had A TON of training materials. It was a lot to take in just four days, but Wayne used the time well. I took the boot camp the first week of May 2020 and passed the PMP exam two weeks later, on the first try. It was pretty ambitious to take the test so soon after the course, but for personal reasons I needed to get it done quickly. Wayne and the PMA boot camp greatly helped make that happen. I don't think I could have pulled it off without them. read more
