She's an experienced nurse and doesn't hesitate to share the good and bad side to mold us in this career. She teaches so much more than the text book and thats what makes her so unique. She also teaches us in a way that makes it easy to understand the material. I have gained so much knowledge within this short period of time. I'll definitely recommend the school and all. Thank you Ms Candice

Their holistic approach equips you with the know how as well enabling you with the professional compasion to provide exemplary patient care. Their program gave me the credentials needed to land a great job at a physical rehabilitation hospital even though I lacked clinical experience. The program also gave me a complete foundation to build toward an RN-BSN. I would highly recommend the program at Career Training Center of Chicago. It's afforadble - with flexible payment options. It's a concise, concentrated program that will get you quickly into the medical field. It's in depth, high quality, and comprehensive which will put you a cut above other CNAs. And it provides a great foundation to build from if you wish to pursue nursing or other allied health fields. They easily earn 5 stars.

Subject: Concern Over Sudden Fee Increases for Harper's Open Studio…read more Well friends, I started out writing a positive review about the exceptional instruction and support for learning artisans and artists at Harper. But now, I feel blindsided. The college is tripling the cost for individuals who take a class and then wish to come during the week to finish projects during what's called Open Studio. Most institutions offer Open Studio time without instruction, providing students the opportunity to complete work started in class. Pottery, for instance, involves throwing, building, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and firing again--it's not a one-step process. It's simply not realistic to finish meaningful work in a single three-hour class each week. Current Fees: $279 for an 8-week class (3 hours once a week) New Fees: Add $279 per week for one day of Open Studio (8 sessions) Add another $279 if you need a second Open Studio day in the same week (8 sessions) Even with the senior discount--half price--many of us cannot afford this drastic increase. Working adults who attend after their jobs will also be priced out. So, I ask: What is the goal of a community college? How are our tax dollars supporting creative growth, lifelong learning, and the spirit of community Harper once embodied? Community education (non-credit) students feel under attack. Is the goal to push us into costly for-credit courses? The administration talks about supporting staff and resources, but the students who actually use those resources feel ignored, skeptical, and yes--angry. Many of us have already been supplementing supplies ourselves--bringing sponges, buckets, our own glaze, even strainers--to help keep things running smoothly. We did this gladly, as part of a thriving, supportive creative community. But with these new fees, that goodwill is fading fast. We urge Harper College to reconsider these fee hikes and remember that the heart of community education is inclusion, accessibility, and shared creativity--not profit.

The gentleman in charge, Paul, is a very nice man and can help you put together a plan over the course of several months that will add some very helpful certifications/knowledge areas to your resume. He's also a great instructor. I had him for SQL, and he was awesome. Some of the instructors are absolutely fantastic. They have both the subject knowledge in addition to real life experience. Some other instructors...not so great. I was unfortunate enough to have a particular instructor for 2 classes. He was horrible. His English was really bad. For example, the word "glove" was written on his slide as "glows"...and he totally believed that was the correct word. He also taught the class from the perspective that we were all on the level of recent college grads, and knew nothing. He'd tell us how to dress for work, and show us videos on how you have to behave in an office. Looking around, I'd guess the average age of the class was around 45. If these people don't know how to dress or behave in an office, perhaps there's a good reason why they are unemployed. I, however, do know all of these things and don't need to have my time wasted with it. Another down side is that the class schedules do tend to fluctuate, probably to accommodate students and teachers alike. For most unemployed people it's not a big deal, but I am a caretaker and work part-time, so it was very hard for me to rearrange schedules at the last minute. Sometimes I simply could not attend class due to last minute changes.
