The work is impeccable to a level that I've been stopped by more than one stranger on the street post appointment. They have fantastic pricing and easy booking but what really sets them apart for me is the personalized and comfortable experience in the chair. I've been in salons where you can clearly tell you're their hundredth appointment, they aren't listening to you, they just want to get it done and worst of the staff don't get along with one another. That's not ZenaRose. Every staff member at ZenaRose genuinely gets a long and helps one another out; creating a wonderful atmosphere to spend what is some times more than an hour or two for an appointment. I connected with Kelli on my first visit and no matter what time or day I have booked with her over the years she makes me feel like I'm the only client she's seeing. She is kind, fun and her attention to detail makes me feel so confident when I leave her chair. I had my first every professional make up done by Yuliya today and WOW! I went in with no pictures and stunned with the results. As someone who has never gotten their makeup done I wasn't sure what to expect. Yuliya made me very comfortable, most notably making sure to pause to let me blink while she was doing my eye make up. I hadn't even realized I needed to blink and she's pausing for my comfort. Will definitely be back. Last note on booking, I called ten minutes before they closed the night before I needed a morning appointment. Fully expecting that a Saturday morning in late Feb would be booked solid, I got a call back in less than 10 minutes saying they had worked something out and it's all booked. No matter who you chose at ZenaRose you're going to have an incredible experience.

I did not hear back and I called again on Wednesday and was old again that she was not available. I have yet to hear back, and when I called I was told I could only email her. Which I specifically said I would rather speak with someone on the phone because there were multiple concerns with the appointment. When I was explaining how I was not available to speak another time this week because I work 12 hour days they hung up on me. I would not recommend getting your haircut here. I spent 160.00 (not including any gratuity I left) and then another 100.00 to have to get my hair fixed

I have been to many of the "best" well-known salons on Newbury St. I've always left unhappy with darker hair, ashy, muddy, etc.. it went on for so long. I was even told that your hair changes every seven years and my hair just can't get light again. These colors made me look so washed out. I hated it. I ended up going to a salon in Needham. She refused to put collar on it except for my roots. She lightened my roots and then put a toner on it. She turned my hair medium brown. I was horrified! She washed it out, put another toner on. This was a color I had never seen! I had a combination of orange and the other parts were brownish ash and greenish! I was totally freaked! And I have an event coming up this weekend. I read some reviews never thinking I would get in to anyone last minute. Lynda answered and was nice enough able to squeeze me in at the end of the day. Walking in with multicolored hair, and being told my hair can't be blonde again, I could just tell that she was going to be good. I hit the jackpot with Lynda! I'm blonde, my hair looks healthy, she gives a phenomenal blowout, and I will never go to anyone else again. Lynda is extremely knowledgeable and unbelievably talented! For the first time in so long not only was a blonde, but when I looked in the mirror I liked what I saw and I really hadn't for such a long time. Lynda' is by far the best most talented colorist in Boston! I can't tell you how glad I am to have found her.

He put so much attention into my hair, specific issues, how it had been colored in the past, and I ended up with what I think is the best color I've ever had! My 20 year old daughter was with me and she agreed. Really beautiful highlights, toner, and treatment for my damaged hair. The cut was equally great. It's always nerve wracking to find a hair stylist in a new city and trust that it's going to work out ok, but Olti absolutely exceeded what I thought I might be able to find. Plus, he is a super chill and kind person to hang out and talk with. Ralphie the Frenchie who hangs in the shop was an added bonus. Definitely recommend making an appointment here. For the first few appointments, Jessica asked me to show her images of hair I liked and then she really pressed me to detail exactly what it was I liked about the images (darker roots, length, layering, highlights, overall color, etc.). After only a couple of these conversations, I realized that for years I was describing to hair stylist something that was entirely different than what I actually wanted. With Jessica, going through these images and having these discussions helped us to be on the same page about what I wanted my hair to look like both in the moment as well as in the future. Using this information, she created a customized plan and timeline for me; the result is that today my hair is longer and healthier than ever with a color that I absolutely adore. Her skills as a stylist are further complemented by the exceptional level of service that she provides. Jessica is always on time and clear about pricing. She confirms appointments a week in advance and always offers flexibility if you need to reschedule; it's not uncommon for her to come in early or stay late to accommodate a client. But with this experience and taking the cost into consideration, I most likely will have second thoughts at going to podiatry. Hand nails I can do myself. As I don't drive and live within walking distance, I pay little attention to Parking. In the review I mention bike parking is available because of the location; use a parking meter? Today when I came for my scheduled appointment, she said she forgot about my appointment and asked me to come back later that day. I asked her what was going? I said I almost canceled my appointment today because The coldness in which I was received. I said there's no need to make another appointment. There are plenty of nail salons around and a frequent customer should be welcomed. What a shame, cause I frequently recommended the salon and that specific nail tech.

I had just delivered my son and was on maternity leave in the process of returning back to work. I wasn't much to look at or feeling good about myself during this period, when a friend suggested get my hair done while she watched the baby. She mentioned a new shop had opened up on Adams street around the corner and suggested I go there. I was hesitant because I am very particular with people I don't know doing my hair, but at the time it was really convenient and seeing the state of mind I was in I really needed it, so I thought what the hell go for it. I walked into the shop, which was bright, welcoming and so was the owner Hunter. She could tell I needed some TLC and offered me a beverage and asked me what services I required. I went with a Keratin express because I was not sure when I would be able to put a comb to my hair in the near future with just having a newborn and two small lads at home, my plate was full. Hunter made me look like a star, seriously! When I looked in the mirror I did not recognize myself. It's funny how things like getting your hair done can boost your confidence and put you in different state of mind. I felt beautiful again! I thanked Hunter for her time and shed a tear as I left, I mean I had just had a baby people, this meant a lot to me. So now I am walking down the street confident as hell because I know I look damn good. I get to my friends door and she is amazed by how beautiful, radiant and confident I looked and felt and took pictures as if I was a superstar because I damn near felt like one. I grab my baby and go home, pick up the other two little ones and wait for my husband to get home a few hours later. I think he thought I was a stranger because he did a double take. He complimented me on how beautiful I looked and suggested for me to do my hair more often and not forget to take care of me. My devotion began when she was a senior stylist on Newbury Street and continued when she opened and managed numerous locations for the same employer, most recently at the Seaport. Her talent not withstanding, she has the ability, passion and patience to bring out the beauty in everyone. Her attention to detail is supreme. You cannot leave her chair until you are totally happy with every hair on your head. That's why she calls it "hair happiness." So if you want the haircut of a lifetime, color that gets you noticed for how natural it looks (in my case), easy to manage style (I swim every day), then you MUST visit Hunter. I have been seeing Hunter for years for haircuts and when she left her previous employer I thought I would never see her again. I was so happy to find out she opened her own place. Her new place is so nice and relaxing and she is so accommodating. Hunter always focuses on the overall health of your hair instead of just the style and that's what I think sets her apart from others. She is always offering advice and tips on how to maintain healthy hair and I have always trusted her with the advice she gives. She also does amazing color treatments. I had my first blonde highlights with her recently and loved what she did. There is nothing you can't get at her new salon. I visited Erin at Hunter David salon and was thrilled with my cut and color. I loved that she was available after work on a weeknight, as I find it hard sometimes to get to a salon appointment on the weekend. The space is roomy and cozy, and the ambiance was very relaxing. Parking was available in the back lot. I took both my daughter (who has LONG thick hair) to get a 'big girl' style and son (who for the first time was not afraid of the buzzers because Erin was so kind and reassuring to him) to Erin for cuts as well - she is great! I found Hunter through my kids only a few years ago and have followed her ever since. Her style sense is wonderful, and she has to be the most cheerful stylist I've ever met! I live 2 1/2 hours north, and only visit every couple of months, but her haircuts hold their shape even with such a long stretch between visits. Her new salon is easy to find, has free parking (Who doesn't love that?) and is within walking distance from some nice restaurants for lunch. My mother had told me 430 earlier in the day so was going to pick her up and and drop her off by 425ish (we only live1 minute away) but as im about to pick her up the calendar reminder had a pop up that the appointment was for 415. So call the place to let them know we are on the way but will be a few minutes late. The person on the phone says she will have to check with Sophia and then proceeds to tell me they have to cancel my appointment. Then the next appointment they had was for 10 days from now. They might be good for haircuts but their scheduling assistant is horrible. Update for response: when they cancelled my appointment my mother was in the car with me and said we would be there in minute which would be 5 minutes before a 15 minute late grace window EVERY place gives you with booking. She still said they had to cancel the appointment and proceeded to give me a booking date for 10 days later. She was just really just trying to cancel the appointment rather than assist me. Bad customer service.

I came out with purple hair and silver highlights :/ some people can pull it off but I'm not one of them- lol I called her last minute and she took me right away!!!! She was so sweet and helpful even suggesting what we can do in a few weeks to get me back to my original color without damaging my hair...most wouldn't care and just would want to do everything right away to get the cash, but not her! So we re-colored my hair and she made my awful day totally awesome. Not only do I love love love my hair now but she gave me the best blow out I've ever seen!!!! Defiantly going to be a return customer!!!!

When I graduated from college and found a full-time job I had to leave my salon job--and my fabulous freebies--behind. I've spent the past several years bouncing around from different stylists trying to someone who was both affordable, professional, and talented. After one particularly horrific cut, I came by to see Sherine at Maria's. She had put extensions in my hair once before, and I figured I needed some serious extensions assistance to get over this recent chop job. I have typical 'white girl' hair: fine, stringy, and super silky soft. This means it styles nicely but is super difficult to braid for sew-in extensions. No problem for Sherine. She is amazing. She works with my hair type and the extensions always look amazing. Although extensions are a big price commitment (I'm definitely stretching my budget here), Sherine is well worth the investment. I'm so happy with the way my hair looks, and will definitely be back for maintenance. Although the salon does not seem to have a huge white girl client-base, and stylists are often most comfortable working with hair they're accustomed to, Sherine does an AMAZING job. To all you white girls dropping crazy money on Newbury Street extensions: stop being foolish. Visit Sherine at Maria's and get Newbury Street quality without the price and pretension.

One of the 2…read morestylists that were there (the owner/main person of the business) looked at me, said nothing (no body even checked me in), and went back to doing her client's hair while another client was talking to her and her client (btw this client already had her hair done). This is NOT okay. If you have a client walk in, you stop the conversation with the client who has already had her service (also the client should know better but some people will remain selfish and unaware their whole lives), and you at least greet and ask what the client who just walked in is there for. I sat down and waited 30 minutes before the other stylist noticed me, and asked what I was in for. Simply unprofessional and also really rude, just as a human being, especially from the owner. I was really disappointed in this behavior and then my service felt really rushed. I know sometimes you have to wait at salons bc sometimes a service goes over, but the least you can do is greet your clients as they walk through the door and check them in (or hire a dang receptionist). Not sure I want to go back but this really surprised me from a business that seemed so reputable. Maybe they were having an off day?

I do wish customers had more of a heads up whenever they're running behind especially if it's getting closer to an hour. Other than that this is a great place to get your hair done.
