I had just delivered my son and was on maternity leave in the process of returning back to work. I wasn't much to look at or feeling good about myself during this period, when a friend suggested get my hair done while she watched the baby. She mentioned a new shop had opened up on Adams street around the corner and suggested I go there. I was hesitant because I am very particular with people I don't know doing my hair, but at the time it was really convenient and seeing the state of mind I was in I really needed it, so I thought what the hell go for it. I walked into the shop, which was bright, welcoming and so was the owner Hunter. She could tell I needed some TLC and offered me a beverage and asked me what services I required. I went with a Keratin express because I was not sure when I would be able to put a comb to my hair in the near future with just having a newborn and two small lads at home, my plate was full. Hunter made me look like a star, seriously! When I looked in the mirror I did not recognize myself. It's funny how things like getting your hair done can boost your confidence and put you in different state of mind. I felt beautiful again! I thanked Hunter for her time and shed a tear as I left, I mean I had just had a baby people, this meant a lot to me. So now I am walking down the street confident as hell because I know I look damn good. I get to my friends door and she is amazed by how beautiful, radiant and confident I looked and felt and took pictures as if I was a superstar because I damn near felt like one. I grab my baby and go home, pick up the other two little ones and wait for my husband to get home a few hours later. I think he thought I was a stranger because he did a double take. He complimented me on how beautiful I looked and suggested for me to do my hair more often and not forget to take care of me. I have been seeing Hunter for years for haircuts and when she left her previous employer I thought I would never see her again. I was so happy to find out she opened her own place. Her new place is so nice and relaxing and she is so accommodating. I visited Erin at Hunter David salon and was thrilled with my cut and color. I loved that she was available after work on a weeknight, as I find it hard sometimes to get to a salon appointment on the weekend. The space is roomy and cozy, and the ambiance was very relaxing. Parking was available in the back lot. I took both my daughter (who has LONG thick hair) to get a 'big girl' style and son (who for the first time was not afraid of the buzzers because Erin was so kind and reassuring to him) to Erin for cuts as well - she is great! I found Hunter through my kids only a few years ago and have followed her ever since. Her style sense is wonderful, and she has to be the most cheerful stylist I've ever met! I live 2 1/2 hours north, and only visit every couple of months, but her haircuts hold their shape even with such a long stretch between visits. And she gives the same time and attention she has always given to me and my hair - from initial consult through the final blowout. Hunter is awesome! Her blowouts are awesome and last 3-4 days - your hair looks amazing when you leave. I go for a one process color and a cut - always leave happy.
