TL;DR ... A terrific experience!…read more I arrived home at 8PM on a Sunday from a trip to Ohio, only to find that I had no heat. I messaged my favorite plumber (Kennedy Plumbing) asking if he could recommend someone for a furnace repair ... he immediately recommended D&G. The answering service took my call and advised that I would receive a callback when they open at 8AM Monday. Ben (Svc Mgr) called at 7:59AM - Yay! Nick arrived 40 minutes later, ready to work. He knows his craft. No wasted motions or steps. Within 15 minutes the root cause was identified and repaired - a safety sensor was dirty. Add D&G to your Contacts app ... I have!

Craig sent out a tech who evaluated the unit and determined repair costs. Craig then determined the new unit cost. Based on those numbers and the "rule of thumb" that if repair cost multiplied by age of unit equals more than $5,000 it time for a replacement, I will be getting a new Trane air conditioner. I believe Craig can be trusted.

They stand behind their work. My husband and I have been using them for over 40 years, and if ever there was an issue with something that they've repaired, they have returned immediately to rectify it. We've always had the service contract. For a small monthly charge, everything in the house is covered under the plan if something goes wrong. Obviously, there's a charge to replace parts, but they're one of the few companies that answers the phone 24/7 when you call in an emergency, and they usually can schedule an appointment right away. I read the other review about the garbage disposal replacement. I recently had the same experience. Yes, it was very expensive to have our garbage disposal replaced, but my husband can't do it anymore and I don't have the strength or the time. The Danboise agent gave me three quotes, one of which included the option of me purchasing the disposal myself for him to install. It was still a bit pricey, but I chose that option and he came back the next day to do the installation. I bought a higher-end disposal so that it would last longer, but unfortunately it was missing a part when the plumber opened the box. I thought I would have to wait for him to return the following day to install the replacement after I went to the store to exchange it, but he was kind enough to do it the same day, right after I returned from the store. Also, the day before, the Danboise HVAC technician came to do our A/C inspection and told me that our A/C was clogged with debris and cottonwood fibers. I needed to have it cleaned. He said he could do it for a charge (which was quite steep), or he could show me how to do it if I got the hose out. I connected the hose, and he showed me how to clean the A/C unit and told me when to clean it. The Danboise technicians don't try and rip you off but are very helpful--and reliable.

STAY AWAY! I…read morecontacted Absotemp because my air conditioner broke -- right before a heat wave. I was told that there was a service charge of $90 and was given a 4 hour window. Matt, apparently the owner of the company, came a few minutes after the end of that window, a couple minutes after 4:00 p.m. (BTW, he smelled of pot.) When he got here, he asked what the problem was & I explained that the air conditioner wasn't working. He immediatey went to the furnace. I told him I wasn't having trouble with the furnace, it was the air conditioner. He then proceeded to tell me that they are connected, my furnace is old and inefficient, and possibly dangerous. He spent a lot of time looking at it and taking pictures. He then got a phone call and was gone for about 15 minutes. He came back and continued explaining to me about the different kinds of furnaces. I reminded him that I called him about the air conditioner. He asked what kind of thermostat I had and then he finally went to look at the air conditioner. He said that was old as well (both were probably original and from the 1970s), but he couldn't figure out when. He called someone about tracing the model, but they couldn't do it either. He then came back into the house & said he'd go into his truck and write up an estimate. An hour and a half later, I went outside to see if he was still here. All of his prices were really high. And again, it was AIR CONDITIONING repair that I contacted him about. After he asked if I had any questions, I said, "I asked you to come out because of the air conditioning. Can you do anything about it?" He huffed and went outside. He came back in after a couple minutes and said that it was the motor fan and "There's nothing I can do about, it Sweetie." :O (That was the second time he called me that!) When I asked if he had any suggestions, he said "Stay in the basement." It was not said with humor. He then asked for a check ("or an ACH") -- AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING except waste nearly 4 hours of my time. I had 3 other companies come out after that. Not a single one charged for an estimate, they didn't take ridiculous amounts of time, and they didn't try to oversell me. Needless to say, I chose a different company.
