Rip Off! 12-11-14(ORIGINAL POST)…read more I just brought my elderly grandmother in to Bi-State and was going to get her propane refilled. When I found out how much the propane was, over $4/gal. RUN FOR THE HILLS. She has always said she has was being RIPPED OFF BY BI-STATE (gobbled up by AmeriGas?), but I tell her gram your just dorky. You don't know what you're talking about. I had previously went over to Campora propane down the road from Bi-State. The quote I got form Campora was $2.14 A GALLON. New customer discounts, yes. Simple math Bi-State would have charged my elderly grandmother over $200 in comparison to Campora. To be fair, shortly after getting home we received another quote over the phone from Bi-State because of thier holiday generosity. The deal of a lifetime was $2.75/gal. In comparison, Campora has $2.50/gal regular rate at that same time. Thank you Bi-State for your kindness. Why is there such a huge price difference? I can only speculate that she is being taken advantage of because of her age or perhaps because she has complained about why she has to pay tank rental fees numerous times in the past, which she doesn't quite understand. In any case, there are different prices depending on who a person is at Bi-State. That's how they does business. Compare prices of your next fill up or you could be Bi-State's next scam victim UPDATE 2-2-15 Okay, so Bi-state(aka Amrigas) is not racist, they treat all their customers equally, which is like crap. After talking to the folks at Campora, I found out we were not the only ones who Americas was trying to RIP OFF. Apparently other people were coming into Campora and telling them the same story, Amerigas was trying to charge over $4 a gallon. When we got credit for the propane in the tank(40 gal.) that Amerigas came to pick up, we only got the lowest quoted price, $2.50 - $3.00, not the $4 + price that we we're originally quoted. BUMMER. Sell High Buy Low that's the Amerigas way.

Enter turn and burn propane at my beloved shoe spoon brewing Company. I pulled up to the propane tank and another customer was waiting just ahead of me so they'd already pressed the little button and the attendant was on their way. They arrived quickly with a smile on their face and rapidly filled the other customers tanks and then turn their attention to me in the meantime, while filling the other tanks, the attendant spoke to me and gave me directions to unload. Mine placed them in a row and that he'd get to them right after finishing with the first customer and that he did. Their station fills tanks very quickly, and the attendant was incredibly friendly and conversational too. It's really nice that they have the ability to take credit card payment right there at the pump saves you a step from going inside and everything is handled lickety-split. I truly cannot recommend this station enough for anyone in the South Reno area or for anyone headed south on 580 for a camping trip. They will have you in and out in no time.

The service with Bi-State/AmeriGas is still top-notch!…read more Currently, I am working with Nathan, Jakki, and their support team. Much of my contact is with Nathan and his team and they still ROCK! I can't express enough home much I appreciate their above and beyond approach. They do their best [and it's a big effort] to make sure that I do not run out of propane during the cold winter months. I can't ask for more and I really appreciate that they go out of their way to make sure I can heat a pot of water and stay warm. They don't have to care...but they do!!!! 10 Stars to Nathan! Thank you Nathan! David

Run, do not walk away from Amerigas Propane. Another American cost-cutting corporate sell out of…read moreall customer service. The local South Lake Tahoe office no longer has a real person working there to answer calls and coordinate service. I scoured every listed phone # I could find on line, including the Headquarters number listed in Pennsylvania. Every one of them connected to a call center in the Philippines to people who read off a script like robots and they hung up on me twice because they couldn't answer a simple question; why were we billed for a thousand dollar delivery when we absolutely know our tank wasn't? There was a pipe problem that had to be fixed first as indicated by a note left on the door by the delivery guy indicating the refill was NOT done. They literally just hung up mid sentence because they could not reconcile my account of events with what their computer told them. Nothing, and I mean nothing will ever replace a competent, real person in a local office to operate a business. I feel bad for the delivery drivers whose jobs depend on this abysmally run company, this is not their fault. I will be going old school to write a letter to the company as they don't provide any other way of contacting them-- that's how you know that THEY know what a crappy business they're running but the greed wins out. We will be cancelling our service with Amerigas immediately.
