The fish is enormous (see photos) the accompanying slaw is very small and oddly Asian tasting which is not what I'd choose with English fish and chips. We split the fish and ordered an extra piece. I don't have too much to say about the drinks as I just had water, but the food was tasty and exactly what we needed on a cold afternoon. To start out, we ordered the famous beer cheese, and crab cakes for the table. The famous beer cheese was similar to a fondue but it was prepared well and had me wishing I had more. Very tasty and perfect for sharing. The crab cakes were equally tasty and tasted fresh with a nice consistency. As a table, we ordered the mariemont salad, the Cuban, the famous burger and a bowl of chili. I don't have too much to say about the burger. It was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. The salad was unique and was shared by 2 people at our table. The Cuban was filled well and good value. Its always nice to see a restaurant not skimp out and deliver a nice product. In my opinion, the star of the show was the chili. This was a hardy, filling and extremely tasty chili! And of course, it was exactly what I needed on a cold, cloudy day. I ended up ordering a second bowl, it was that good! I would reccomend this place for a casual meetup with friends or family. Plenty of cozy seating inside, fast and friendly service and great food!

The place was almost packed for a Monday. I seen the bartender and asked if we just sit anywhere and he said to find a seat. We sat down and looked over the menu. About 5 minutes later the bartender came over to take our order. We ordered drinks and our meal at the same time. We both got the short rib sandwich with fries. We talked for a bit, and it wasn't long before our drinks came out then maybe 5 or so minutes later our food came out. Let me say this, I know why they are packed on a Monday. Seriously the food is just wow, I mean I have to come back and try other things. The bartender came around a couple times to make sure all was good and to refill our drinks. The place has a very nice interior and bar. I will say the high top seats were not my favorite but the food was.

The bar is located in Madisonville and it had some rougher and not so rough areas around it. Inside it had a beautiful bar and multiple high top tables made from barrels. The music was on the louder side, making it hard to talk at the tables, but possibly a good thing if you are in the mood. It took a while to get the bartender over to our table. Surprising because there were only 3 parties in there for lunch. She had told us that she would be right over, so I waited, but next time I would just go to the bar. They only had one paper menu asking for you to use their app which needed way too much personal info. The paper menu had only a third of the items on the digital menu, We chose the "Fasser" a pimento and green tomato sandwich on rye and we also went with the Monday special of a burger and fries. Tried to get the beyond burger to stay meatless, but they were out. I was shocked that the bartender/waitress was not familiar with the namesake sandwich....possibly should have been a sign for me. I ordered a soda it came, but only 2/3rds filled. We then waited some time for the food to be prepped. Maybe they were doing a ton of delivery business, but at 45 mins in I had to ask them to make it to go because we were running out of time. I also got a refill on my soda - again 2/3rds filled. When the food finally arrived it was delivered by a sweet elderly woman who apologized telling us it was the first time she made the Fasser. (Giving an extra star because she was so nice) I then paid for the food and realized the soda refills were not free. We quickly ate the sandwiches on our journey. The Fasser was pretty good, but really salty. The burger was nothing to write home about, but the fries were good. I will probably not be back, but I was happy to try the Fasser.

The blend of cheeses and their sauce - so stinking good. We also got a house salad to split. Being that this was to go - they gave us the main salad in one container with their house made croutons in a separate container and their house made vinaigrette in a separate container - it keeps everything fresh and crisp! The croutons were so delicious and fresh! On top of that, the vinaigrette was amazing. We both fell in love with it. We walked in and ordered instead of placing online or calling.
