They even let me try the hat on outside to see how it held up in the wind. I then decided I didn't think the hat would work because I couldn't get it to stay on my head. The guys who helped me totally understood and didn't pressure me to buy. As I was driving home...there was just something telling me...I should still buy that hat. So I turned around and went back for it. The staff was excited to see me back. And I took my strange but cool hat home. Turns out when I tried it on in the store I wasn't strapping it in correctly. Once I figured it out, it fit well. Tried it while stand up Paddleboarding yesterday and it was amazing! The hat blocked out all the sun. But also kept my head cool letting the breeze in. And the wind didn't cause any issues. This hat is amazing! Love shops like this that take the time to help customers out without being pushy. Good prices here to. Will definitely be back!

There are several sports stores in the general area, so I'll try to rate Big 5 on its own merits…read moreand why it's different than Sports Authority, Sport Chalet, and Dick's PROS--Cheaper sporting goods than other places. Great place for recreational sporting goods, and an extra plus that it carries rifles. Always have good sales, and register your email with them for more savings. CONS--At this store, it's selection is limited because it just ain't that big. This limits the products you can comparison shop with. Shoes are mostly off-brand, which is fine if you don't care about brand names, but quality is dubious. Not that much hockey stuff. My summary is that Big 5 is the place to go for recreational sporting goods. What I mean is that it's good if you want a softball glove for those few times you play, a bodyboard for the few weekends in summer, or snow pants for that yearly trip to Big Bear. For example, I need a new camping tent. I won't be going to some expensive camping store for a $300 tent....I'll get a cheap one at Big 5 because I only camp 1 or 2 weekends a year. If you play competitively (ex: high school, college, minor leagues, AAU travel teams etc.) stick to Sport Chalet or Dick's, as they have higher end, better quality gear.

I've been coming to this store for years and have always had great experiences. The store is clean,…read moreand the customer service is usually excellent. Today, I purchased a wagon and the young lady who helped me was amazing. She brought the item down, answered my questions, and even offered to carry it for me. She was incredibly kind and deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service. One thing I noticed was that while I was carrying the wagon through the store, the only employees who offered help were female team members. I passed two younger male employees who didn't check in, even though I was clearly struggling a bit. I wasn't expecting anyone to carry it for me, but a simple offer to help would have been appreciated. I also want to recognize the older gentleman outside who checked on me while I was loading my car and made sure I was okay. Overall, this is still a great store. My only suggestion is to encourage all employees to check on customers carrying heavy items. Maybe because I wasn't older or looked like I struggled but it was heavy and seeing me struggle a bit - A small gesture can make a big difference.

I had an extremely disappointing experience today at Patagonia. I came in for what should have been…read morea very simple exchange of an unworn jacket, but the interaction was immediately made uncomfortable by an employee named Maddie. From the start, she was rude, combative, sarcastic, and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the entire process. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience absolutely warranted one.

Come to find out, I purchased a half size to large for my foot. There was no question other than, "Can I help you find the right ones for your feet?" Amazing response; and, of course, the right one! Within 20 minutes I had found the right size, walked around the store for about ten minutes to make sure they were the right fit, and then brought them up to the counter for a quick exchange with a smile from the clerk! I came in for a life vest I seen was available online. When I went to the front desk, I asked Jon about where I could find the life vest. He told me that they don't sell life vests in store. I showed him that the website says they have them in stock in this specific store. He told me the app is accurate not the website which is crazy that the website even offers that feature if it is not in fact accurate. He pulled up the app on his phone to see the same inventory that I had from the website. There is IN FACT life vests at this store. When I asked him again, where I could find them he pointed in the distance. Didn't walk me over, didn't try to help me find it, etc. Didn't see one associate on the floor to help. Thankfully after a long search I found the life vest on a random rack. I won't be coming back here again and don't recommend others to either. Only gave one star because they had the item i needed.

Five stars all damn day. If you need anything related to Pickleball, this is where to go…read more I liked that they have pickleball paddles that you can take and try out for a few days. There are several models to choose from. You just have to leave a deposit. It's nice to be able to play with a paddle for a few games before you purchase one. They also have a small net set up so you can dink around a little and try a paddle out right in the store. The staff here are all experienced, high level players and can help you find the equipment you need. They have just about everything pickleball related product you can imagine, from Dink Masters to automatic ball machines. Outdoor pickleball, indoor pickleball they've got it all. If underwater pickleball was a thing, they'd probably have that gear too. When I came in to buy a paddle the Pro asked me to describe my game so he could steer me towards the right kind of paddle. The question caught me off guard and I started laughing. My game? Omg that's funny. I ain't got no game. I had to explain I'm a total noob. I've only been playing for a year, and only the last six months with any regularity. So I don't even possess the vocabulary to describe the feebleness of my "game." Lol. Of course I'm not the first noob they've dealt here and they knew just how to handle the likes of me. The Pro explained some of the differences in the various paddles, some being designed more for speed, some for power. He guided me to the exact right paddle. I was very happy with my shopping experience at 805 Pickleball Shop. The staff is dedicated to helping you improve your Game, or lack thereof. Highly recommended!
