This flagship Patagonia store, which is located next-door to their corporate headquarters slightly…read moreto the northwest, is done so well and really exudes the same Patagonia style that you see in their products. To give some context you will see Great Pacific Iron Works written across the top of the store, which was Patagonia's first store, opened in 1973 in the former Hobson meat-packing plant, near Chouinard's blacksmith shop, which is another product line and name you'll see often in their clothing. This part of Ventura is extremely sleepy so it's very easy to find a free street spot and there is also some EV charging available as well. The staff here is very friendly and always very attentive so it's one of the best parts about visiting. There are many different rooms inside divided by product type and there is even a tiny little museum area with all sorts of pictures and facts about the former building and Ventura. One of my favorite things about coming here is they tend to have some Ventura specific, or limited run products that you won't see in some of their larger bigger city stores. So you can really find some stuff that would otherwise be hard to find online or out of state. I try to stop here every time I pass through Ventura and would recommend to anyone else to do the same. They have products for men, women, and children, so there really is something for everyone.

I had an extremely disappointing experience today at Patagonia. I came in for what should have been…read morea very simple exchange of an unworn jacket, but the interaction was immediately made uncomfortable by an employee named Maddie. From the start, she was rude, combative, sarcastic, and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the entire process. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience absolutely warranted one.

Before upgrading my kitchen knives, I brought…read moremy old blades here to be sharpened, and they did an incredible job bringing the edges back to life. Eventually, I decided to upgrade, and I've since bought several things from the owner, Bryan--including a prep knife, paring knife, carving set, tomato and cheese knife, and several pairs of kitchen shears. The entire experience was outstanding, and the value is unbeatable for this level of quality. Bryan is incredibly nice, helpful, and highly knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all my questions and guided me to the perfect blades without any high-pressure sales tactics. The shop has a great, welcoming atmosphere and an impressive selection. If you want top-tier products, fair pricing, and genuine, old-school customer service, you need to check this place out!

My son, husband and I googled ourselfs to this location to get my son some very pricey knifes and upon entering the gentleman at the entrance was happy spirited smiling and providing excellent customer service and attitude!! The customers he was helping were white colored skinned and ofcourse im married to a white colored skinned man and I was the only one of darker complexion and the lady was quickly rude I guess the questions we were asking were too much for her or maybe my skin color. I did not want to get anymore angrier for the way she responded to me so I asked the gentleman if the knife was for sale or not because we were interested in purchasing the one in the display case and again I was answered smartly... like he said anything we have out is all we have!! Didn't even try to listen to us, I stepped back and let the lighter colored people like my son and husband finish the transaction!! Because I was super uncomfortable at that point NOT ONLY FOR THE WAY I WAS TREATED!! LET ALONE SPEND OVER A HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! AFTER I WAS TREATED LIKE POOP FOR THE COLOR OF MY SKIN!! Anyway I was reading the door as it states help shop local businesses or whatever. I live a few blocks away from this store, never visited until today and we won't be back ever!!! might as well put a WHITES ONLY!!! Sign. My husband and son tried to make me feel better about the situation. Until you get discriminated against SIMPLY FOR THE COLoR OF YOUR SKIN!! there is no excuse!! YOU SHOULDN'T WORK OR BE SHOP OWNER!! So much for shopping local!!

Definitely time for a review for the Eco Store now that we've completed our 3rd project with them!…read more I remember when The Eco Store opened up years ago in Oak View. It was such a pleasure to see so many potential home improvement projects, all in one place, and that all inspired a better way of living at our house. Our first project with the Eco Store was a gray water system to move abundant shower water out to our plants and gardens. That felt so good that we then did a second project with the Eco Store. They created a simple and affordable rain water catchment system that now gives us enough water to completely water all of our plants, gardens, and even our backyard grass areas! Now we've just completed a salt-free whole house home water filtration system that gives us high-quality drinking water throughout our whole house, and allows us to NOT have to dump salt into a tank every month. Working with Erica at the store is always a pleasure. She is super knowledgeable and very helpful. She makes a large variety of household soaps and sells them at the Eco Store. That makes it so we are re-using all of our plastic soap bottles! We've done a lot of home improvements at our house with various contractors. LeVon (owner) cares about your house, provides a professional installation, and seems to know everything about conserving energy and water at your house! Working with him is like having a good friend over your house. But when he leaves, you feel 100% better about your house, and how you are working with nature to support the house and it's water needs. I know they work with electrical needs at your house too... maybe project #4 in the future for us!?!? It is always a pleasure working with The Eco Store! We highly recommend you visit their store, talk with them, and get inspired!
