Walking into Detroit 75 Kitchen in Madison Heights for a quick lunch, my expectations were high!…read moreFrom a visual standpoint, the food looks simply irresistible on social. Before I even got to the food, the restaurant itself made a great first impression. The property is incredibly well maintained inside and out. There's a spacious outdoor patio for Michigan summer days, along with plenty of indoor seating ranging from communal tables for larger groups to individual booths if you're flying solo. It's a thoughtfully designed space that feels welcoming no matter why you're there. Now, let's talk about the food. I'll admit something that surprised me. I've been to Detroit probably 50 times, and I honestly can't remember ever hearing about a Detroit-style cheesesteak. Judging by the walls covered in awards and accolades, though, it's clearly something they're known for. The sandwich certainly sounds like a winner on paper: ribeye and sirloin, provolone and Swiss cheeses, roasted mushrooms and peppers, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, sweet pickled jalapeños, aioli, house-made vinaigrette, all served on a freshly baked sesame roll. I mean... what's not to love? Unfortunately, this is where my experience took a turn. The ingredients themselves are good. The flavors are there. The problem is the execution. The ratios are simply off. The freshly baked roll completely dominates the sandwich, overwhelming everything inside it. The steak gets lost between all that bread, and instead of each bite showcasing the beef, cheese, and vegetables working together, the bread becomes the star--and that's not what you want from a cheesesteak. I do want to give credit where it's due. The portions are generous, and I especially appreciated that they take the time to make their own dipping sauces for the fries. Little details like that don't go unnoticed. There are plenty of positives here, and it's easy to see why Detroit 75 Kitchen has earned such a loyal following. But as someone who takes sandwiches seriously, I think this one is technically flawed. A great sandwich is all about balance, and for me, this one never found it. I genuinely wanted to love it. This sandwich lover just couldn't get behind the way it was built.

I've gotten to -go from here several times now & can't believe I haven't yet reviewed!…read more They have a lot of Banh Mi options, I generally get the classic pork, and wow--they make a great sandwich! The French bread is so crispy & fresh, and it's quite full. Delicious! It was large enough to share, which we did. It's probably 10-12" long, and we generally want a lighter lunch. While I was waiting this time, I really checked out their pastry/desert case, and they were all gorgeous! They said they come from a local bakery. I'm not usually a desert person, but I got a slice of the Pistachio Ricotta layered cake and it was so good. Really light; thinking layers of cake and thicker layers of both of the two fillings. Perfection Open & airy, nice relaxing space in this building that was formerly Panera. I can't understand why they weren't packed with people. Get out there & support local restaurants!! Fresh, delicious ingredients! Ready pretty quick too, so it's a great lunch hour option. I'll get more pictures of next time I go, though I did get a picture some of the pastries.

The décor and ambiance are what you'd expect from a modern boba café: bright, casual, and spacious. They offer a wide selection of desserts, pastries, coffee, and boba drinks. On this visit, we ordered the Vietnamese coffee, pork pastry, pork bánh mì, cupcakes, and brownies. While the cupcakes and brownies were a bit underwhelming, the Vietnamese coffee, bánh mì, and pork pastry were all excellent and easily the highlights of the visit. Central Park Deli was the first restaurant on the list to participate. The article said mention the ad from Troy Times or Facebook to get the 20% off your bill. Afterwards, save your receipt to turn into the Troy school of your choice. The school that collects the most money in receipts will win $1,000 cash prize. Unfortunately the employees said no, we aren't participating in that and other customers mention this and we won't honor the discount. I showed them the FB announcement where their Deli was clearly listed and they still said No. ??? This made me frustrated. My total for a wrap, cauliflower bites, and a drink was $22. No discount. False advertising and unpleasant customer service. I posted the Facebook announcement of their restaurant listed below in my pictures. On the positive side, the deli is very clean and food was delicious. Their menu is extensive with many choices of wraps, salads, sandwiches and soup. I appreciate you can customize your wrap with a gluten-free wrap and not many delis in the area have that option.

I very much enjoyed the sandwich but the value at $17 is a little much - the height was perfect but felt the overall size was a bit lacking. Also - depending on your preference, I would probably order extra coleslaw if I ordered this sandwich again, the ratio of beef to slaw was a bit lacking. The cream of broccoli was a nice accompaniment to the sandwich but was kind of salty and a bit on the starchy side. Overall - definitely a good place for a deli sandwich just a little on the pricey side - think Zingermans without the friendly service....

I somehow don't go to Jersey Mike's enough, but they are definitely my top choice for a "fast food" sandwich or sub shop. I ordered my mini sub on the app while doing some shopping in the area and by the time I was done, my order was ready to be picked up inside. I really didn't interact with any of the workers other than telling them I was there to pick up a mobile order, but everyone was very kind and they all welcomed me in with a smile on their face. This was only the second Jersey Mike's I've been to, but I really think their customer service is amazing. As for my mini sub - it was way bigger than I expected (which is always nice, especially considering it was "free.") I opted for the turkey and provolone (Mike's Way minus onion and tomato. The game changer is the rosemary parmesan bread. The flavors from the oil, turkey, and bread was so yummy! I will be ordering that sandwich again. YUM!
