We actually loved it. Have not had HH in years and forgot how tasty it is. We simply ordered a large stuffed crust with garlic crust and pepperoni on half, and Cajun crust and sausage on the other half. It was so yummy. Their stuffed crust plus the flavor crust makes it really awesome. We also like the garlic butter dipping sauce. Didn't like the marinara though. Kinda oddly sweet. The staff was friendly. Conveniently located on a main road in just about the center of Troy, they make one of the better round pizza pies around. It has just the right balance of sauce and cheese, with several options of flavored crust. The employees are courteous, effiecient and always have the food ready when I come to pick it up. A small party store is in the establishment for those that require beverages or additional items. I've been coming here for 32 years, so they must be doing something right!!! read more

Well this is the worst Hungry Howie's I have every ordered from, and nearly the worst pizza I've ever had. Let's start at the beginning. I order Large Vegetarian pizza w/ all the veggies, except onions, butter cheese crust and an order of breadsticks. While placing my order, I specified, 3xs that I would like crushed red pepper and parm. The person on the end of the line even CONFIRMED this and read my order back to me. Delivery took about an hour, which I was expecting on a Friday at prime lunch time. When my driver arrived there was no red pepper or parm (he said it wasn't on the ticket). I gruntingly signed the CC slip and took my food. First, the sticks. Ususally when I order sticks from HH, they are marinated in butter and parm. They resemble a stromboli, minus the stuffing. THese were weird. IT was like I didn't get a full order. The breadsticks were all attached, but there were big spaces between them, like window frames. They were dusted in a bland black & white seasoning concotion and the dough in the center was raw. The pizza was a hot mess. While it did come w/ a bunch of veggies, it also came with Pineapple. Apparently pineapple is the new green pepper. Over run with salty olives, a delapitated sad looking crust and mushy tomatoes and we can say I was grossed out. Look, I am aware that when I order pizza, particularly from a chain, chances are it is being made by some community college stoner who is so high he is waxing poetic about the effects of dolphin mating on the pacific currents, which is why I expect my pizza to be tasty. I used to order from this location frequently when I lived in Troy. My experiences were mostly positive and I actually knew a few people who worked there before I moved. It's my understanding that, while there may be unexperienced high school and college students taking orders and making the majority of the food, management takes a lot of pride in what they do as far as the product they sell and service they provide. All my complaints were taken seriously and corrected the next time. They will replace your order to your satisfaction for free and, depending on the situation, give you a credit for your order if you don't have time to wait. Just ask. read more

Hungry Howie's pizza is definitely one of the underrated national chains out there. One bad experience when I was a kid prevented my family from getting it again for a long time. But I've had it a few times in college and once before last summer before trying it for the Super Bowl last weekend. As with Dominos and Papa Johns, I ordered online here. The interface was simple and really user friendly. I purchased a large Howie Special (pepperoni, ham, green peppers, onion, mushroom) with Cajun-flavored free crust (they offer at least a dozen free crusts flavoring options if you want an extra dose of flavor in your mouth) for 15 bucks. The part that made me uneasy with their online ordering system was that they don't have 'normal' cheese and sauce options listed. They say it's implied but it's confusing. You don't want your pizzas to get messed up cause of an online order mishap. I made sure to get something else free for 15 bucks. RetailMeNot had their promo code 'FREECHZ' to get a 16 piece order of their 3-cheese breadsticks with pizza sauce that you have to spend at least 12 bucks for (you can get away with the medium howie special for 12 bucks if it's sufficient). So I got the 5 topping large Howie Special Pizza and the 16 piece breadsticks for 15 dollars total. They have plenty of promo codes to look at so check out their own website in addition to GroupOn and RetailMeNot among others. It took double the amount of time to make and the location was packed as it was Super Bowl Sunday. They must have a liquor license cause they have a beverage and alcohol section of their store along with some standard finger food. Big counter and so I wasn't able to get any interior pics cause of the crowd. I recommend trying ordering online and using the promo codes cause the coupons you get at home don't usually have offers that small families get. I wouldn't mind getting Hungry Howie's if need be! read more

Maybe my relatives were nostalgic about this place, but it didn't live up to the billing. The crusts are a cool idea but are just basically difference levels of salt. The crust thickness was just off and the ingredients were low quality. Would not order again. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. This particular franchise is horrible. Our pizza crust was poorly made. We ordered our pizza with regular Cajun seasoning. However, the Cajun seemed old and dusty and not to mention, made extremely salty. Our pizza was also slightly burned when we didn't ask for it. Our Cajun Howie bread was made poorly. The Cajun bread was highly undercooked so we had to keep it in the oven for it to cook. The Cajun seasoning was unevenly spread and it felt like it was dumped on. I hate to post a negative review about hungry homies bc I love their pizza but this particular location is horrible. Pizza is never cooked the way it usually is from other locations, I assume this particular location has a different type of oven or different procedure. Also service at this location is poor. The last 3 times I ordered from there they forgot my sauces, which I paid for. They offered to bring them back out but 20min after the pizza has arrived it's to late read more

Hungry howie's is just there. Nothing more. Nothing special. The only thing that is higher than average is the seasoning that they put on their crust. Just all around average pizza and that's it. I know some people that really like their pizza but I find it boring and flavorless. read more

I'm a good customer at this Troy location. Every time I call in my name comes up on there caller ID. Today I called in for a pickup. The person who answered my call said 15 to 20 minutes. I get to the store gave my name and the pizza that I order. They didn't receive any orders from me. I show the guy at the register my phone that I did call this location. He then said I'll make your pizza now and it will be ready in 10 minutes. I said forget it I'll go somewhere else. I don't know why I wasn't believed. Usually have good service and good pizza from this location . Today was different , ordered online at 11:15 am for a bunch of kids that had the day off school . Told them not to snack a bunch cause he pizza would be here any minute . 11:45 came and went . Pizza finally showed up at 1:15pm after I called the store twice and heard a bunch of excuses . Sure they reimbursed me ( I hope ) and offered me a voucher for next time .... don't need all that just needed my damn pizza to get these kids fed . Best pizza experience ever. Flavored crust is good and the delivery is always on time and the drivers are really nice. I always tip a lot. When I'm at the store, I can always get my drink on too. There was one really loud employee though but that's okay. read more
