I'm a big pizza guy. By big, I mean both that I'm a relatively fat guy, and that I love to eat pizza. I've expressed my love for Tuscan Oven in Pensacola, and I've reviewed a few pizza places located here in Milton, FL, and wanted to write a review of Hungry Howies since we've eaten our last 3 restaurant pizzas from there. I make a pretty decent pizza at home and would rather eat Tuscan Oven pizza than any other, but sometimes a person doesn't feel like cooking or driving 45 minutes for a pizza so we ordered from Hungry Howie's and were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. I really enjoy their Delux Sub and that's usually all that I order from there, but we wanted pizza and didn't want to cook and we didn't want to drive to get a pizza. It was good. All 3 times. I'll say though, that the 2nd of the 3 pizzas was ordered "well done" and it was absolutely that. Well done. The 3rd of the 3 was good, but the dough wasn't cooked completely. I put the left overs in the toaster oven and finished baking the dough and it was good pizza. Not Tuscan Oven good, but good. So now, we have 2 decent pizza places that we can go to in this area. Hungry Howie's and Marco's. Of the 2, Marcos rates a little higher, but that restaurant is a bit of a drive from here. read more

Decent pizza at decent prices. I wouldn't venture even close to five stars, but I imagine on a good day that I could stretch four stars out of this place. I went at dinner rush hour on my most recent visit, about 6:30 pm. The store was very busy, very bright, and very noisy. The interior has maybe 12 booths, a self-serve fountain drink dispenser, a couple of TVs, and a counter. Not much else. They need some acoustic tiles to mitigate the din of the ovens, fans, and chattering customers. Did I mention that this place is loud? OSHA might get frowny at how noisy it is in here. I like thin crust pizza, when I order from national chains. Hungry Howie's has extremely thin crust. My pizza (see pic) has ample sauce, cheese, and pepperoni for $5.95. The top was nicely cooked and promised a tasty pizza. Woefully, the bottom was about as white as raw flour. How HHs managed to perform this miraculous feat is an enigma. Maybe they cranked up the BTUs in the conveyor-belt oven to move more pies during the high-demand dinner rush? Dunno. Each slice was limp and soggy. It tasted good, but more heat on the bottom or more time in the oven would have been much better. I got two slices down my gullet before I had to close the box and flee due to a family with three kids wreaking mayhem on the public. Parents need to smack their kids more often these days, apparently. The kids were dashing about and screaming like little caffeine-charged demons. Pipe the hell down! I drove my leftovers to the Berryhill Lounge and polished the rest off at the bar with a cold PBR. Aaaah. Much mo' bettah. Try the baked pasta...at $4.99, it is a stout portion and a better deal than Santino's. I've heard that the salads are delicious, but buying a salad runs afoul of my carnivorous philosophy and I refuse to spend money on a heap of rabbit feed. read more

Ordered a pizza from Hungry Howie's. The pizza arrived slid to one side of the box and raw. Tried to grab a piece and everything fell off. We called them to explain and we were told that if we wanted a pizza cooked all the way, we needed to order it "well done". My sons 16th birthday was ruined when all 6 kids got very sick from the pizza. I called today as soon as they opened and the manager would not even get on the phone or attempt to look my order up. I called corporate but these are privately owned. So far there has been no resolution and more than anything I was just trying to get them to check there ham and pineapple. I cannot believe a manager would take food poisoning so lightly. read more

Our pizza came and was all smashed in the side of the box (see picture). We were in a hurry to get out of town and they wouldn't give us a refund or discount on the pizza, they just said they could bring a new one. Well since we were in a hurry we didn't want/have time for a new one. So incredibly rude. They just kept passing the phone around to try to make someone else deal with us. I live in the area and buy from this location about once a month. They have great service and excellent pies for the price. My kids really dig the pineapple/bacon combination. Good mix of sweet and salty. The cheese bread is very good as well. Below is an example of excellent customer service: I had a friend over one time who is lactose intolerant. We were wanting some pizzas delivered. He wanted a pie with no cheese. I think something was lost in translation and all of the pizzas they brought had cheese. We called them and they had a new pizza at our door within twenty minutes. Ridiculous service! Highly recommended! read more

Worst experience ever order $33 worth of food for them to deliver somewhere else I called and Crystal the person that answered the phone kept arguing with me that it was delivered finally she talks to the manager and she comes back and said it was delivered to a duplex well I live in a single-family home so again to food went to the wrong place she said they will remake it and deliver it well ok but take off the tip where I paid y credit card she got nasty and started talking sarcastically and its only a simple mistake umm well I dont pay for tips when my food went to God knows where so out the manager on and hes just as nasty as she is. keep in mine not one time was there an apology only excuses. worst place ever read more

Not a happy camper! I called the Milton FL location when I tried to use the promo codes online. They showed as invalid. The boy who answered the phone said "I dunno bout dat" I theyi asked could I place the order by phone. I felt like I was listening to an audio loop. Then I told him I wanted the one topping with cheese bread. He said that's no longer available which was BS because I was looking at a current ad that we received yesterday. I asked to speak to a manager. "Manager busy". I started to say "I'll wait" but I told him I'd just order from Domino's. That was my first and last time trying to order from Hungry Howie's. What a sorry representative of the pizza chain. There's way too much competition out there for pizza joints. read more

Went there for dinner last night and ate in. Staff was friendly and polite. Ordered two medium pizzas and a chef salad. All the were very tasty and as advertised. The chef salad had tons of toppings on it. I wouldn't call it healthy, but it was very good. The pizzas were hot and tasty. A full meal for a family of four for under 30 dollars with leftovers. My first time eating at a Hungry Howies. I went in because I was craving a sub. I don't know how they can call their subs a sub! This was not a sub! It was made on pizza dough and folded over. Based on the customer service if I could give less than one star I would. I ordered a salad and breadsticks by phone today for delivery. I was told it would be 45 mins. 55 mins later a delivery person was at my door with the bread and a opps I forgot your salad. She told me she would call and have my salad delivered by someone asap. I told her I had to be at work soon but I would wait. A hour later, still no salad. I called and was told someone was on the way. Ok...I live less than 5 miles from Hungry Howies. 25 mins later I called and asked for manager. He answered and immediatley had a attitude. Said because of the rain deliveries were behind...well that is fine but there is no rain..He offered a excuse but no apology. When I asked for my credit card to be credited I was told that would not be possible. He offered me a store credit...Why would I want to give you my business ever again after this kind of service. Still no apology and when I became upset he threatened hanging up on me. Wait...I am NOT the one in the wrong here. So over 2 hours later I have a salad with the wrong salad dressing and cold bread that was delivered 1:45 hour before. Will never give Hungry Howies my business again. read more

I would love to give this restaurant something more than two stars that I actually been able to eat my food this time. I ordered the food off of the internet and was told my food would be here in about 45 minutes I waited about an hour and called the restaurant to inquire where my salad was and was told to call back in 10 minutes if it had not showed up. I waited patiently and called back in ten minutes and was passed around because nobody wanted to answer where my food was so I requested a refund. I was given no information as to when my refund would be given to me or any of my order information so I have yet to see if my refund was issued. I will say this, it was like a typical teenage pizza joint I don't know if anybody took it seriously and I'm pretty sure had they delivered my food after two phone calls I can only imagine what has been done to it. That's how professional the phone call went. It's sad to say this is the second time that this is happened to me from Hungry Howies. What you expect a pizza place to be. After the financial crisis the toppings got thin so they could keep their prices down - it worked and the taste didn't change. Their sauces are good and the carryout is seamless. I Use them often. read more
