Just had fish & chips. We both donated most of it to the dogs. Lousy chips and old fish.

Well, since the last place that I visited was takeaway only, I decided that it might be an idea to…read morevisit a place where I could sit down and eat, and then proceed to eat the takeaway another day. Well, I had seen this place around, so I thought that it might be cool to visit it. Yeah, it turned out to be pretty good, certainly much better than a lot of the other fast food places I'd visited, but then again it does happen to be an independent burger joint. Yeah, I liked it.

A tasty and solid burger - and for a decent price too! 127 Days may not be in the nicest part of…read moretown, but the good stuff normally isn't! The cute little burger bar has a funky interior to offset the seedy surrounds and a menu with a great range of choices for lunch and dinner (if you dare to come after dark..!) Today I ordered the Cheese Banga and a side of #tags (a variation on chips, deep fried pieces of potato in the shape of a # symbol). I was impressed by the quick and friendly service and when my burger hit the table I was impressed by its size - at only $8, (plus $4 for the #tags) it certainly was worth the price! The enormous pattie went right to the edges of the well sized bun and the first bite of the burger was delicious - cheesy, saucey and yummy! I did notice that the pattie itself was a bit bland however it was redeemed with the addition of flavours from the sauces. The accompanying #tags were a nice difference to chips and I loved how crispy they were however they were pretty greasy and could have done with some kind of interesting seasoning... I think I'll certainly be back - and hopefully they start to get a bit creative with the burger patties to push the review up to a five star!

I love this place!…read more I just found it the other day and it is one of those rare finds I really was thrilled for a few minutes because gluten free stuff can sometimes be so horrible it makes you want to throw up before you even finish eating it but this, well, I had a chicken and vegetable pie and it was very nice. I ate lunch there. They gave me a bottle of chilled water and sent e to sit down and relax. It was great. I then had a piece of a cake that was much nicer than it looked. I chatted with the lady and forgot to ask her name, but I was impressed with her attitude and sensibility. t must be tough when you are starting out something as particular as a gluten free business because as things stand I know some people find the whole gluten free thing a big joke; they sort of don't believe in it. Then there's the types who get all het up because it's about the food not the decor. This actual shop used to be a greasy spoon diner, you know, fish and chips etc. So the nice Italian lady hasn't been here so long, but you can not smell any of the old smell that's for sure. They also offer cooking classes which is nice, and they have a very fine selection of a variety of pastas which is good - I think variety is important when it is all about something being limited. I do believe in it and I don't think it hurts to eat food that is low in certain elements when you feel bloated anyway. I just felt over heated the other day when I stopped and decided to try their stuff, but I have one good friend who is gluten intolerant so I thought I'd try to see if I liked it and then maybe she would come have a meal with me some time. So that worked out well. I'll be returning to try other things for sure.

Gluten Free Café is a little rough around the edges with handwritten signs and menus, but the…read morestaff, service and good food bring a lot of warmth to the business. As they advertise GF Café is a "gluten free café with traditional Italian cuisine". They specialise in all gluten free products including many options that you can take home and cook for yourself in your own time. They sell fresh and frozen bread, a big range of different kinds of pastas, pies and quiches and a range of sauces, all of which are free from gluten. If you decide to sit in there is a range of drinks, all of which can be made with lactose free milk. There is also a small, but yummy looking range of gluten free cakes and traditional Italian biscuits. As a lover of chai lattes, I ordered one and was impressed with not only the flavour they use but the coffee making skills. The business is family owned and run and all products are made on the premises which guarantees its absolute freshness.
