My family was craving wings, and this restaurant came up in our search. Unfortunately, choosing to…read moreeat here was a decision we would later regret. A more fitting name might be "Wild West Wingz and Bar," because it definitely felt more like a bar than a family restaurant. There's a reason the interior is so dark--it seemed to hide how dirty the place was. The restrooms were especially filthy. Considering the premium prices they charge, customers should expect a clean environment. The staff, however, was friendly. I ordered an iced tea, and our server actually advised me against it, saying it "nasty", that I probably wouldn't like it, and that it came from a bag. I appreciated her honesty and ordered water instead, only to later discover they charge for tap water. When ordering, I asked for recommendations between their sandwiches and the fish tacos. The fish tacos were recommended, so I gave them a try. When the food arrived, the tortillas were cold, and the fish had been chopped up in the tacos. Later, the waitress asked how I liked them, and I told her they were mediocre. She then explained that the kitchen only cooks one fish fillet and splits it between all three tacos (what!). She even commented that she wished they didn't do that and that the tacos were larger. For $14, receiving what amounts to a single fish fillet divided into three tacos is disappointing. Between the lack of cleanliness, questionable value, and underwhelming food, I CANNOT recommend this place, go elsewhere.

Several decent sized groups were there hanging out, so it's a little loud, which was expected. It's a good size menu with tons of sauce options. Service was friendly and attentive. As larger groups came in, service slowed down a bit, but nothing major. The sauce flavors were pretty good, nothing over powered, but the flavors were nice and the heat was just right. The wings were crispy, but size is inconsistent. Definitely on my list to come back to when in town.

It wasn't too long of a wait... they were pretty busy. I wish I had taken pics. I ordered the French Dip. It was DELICIOUS. Nice and hot, perfect amount of au jus to dip in and the cheese and bread was great! But it was $15 and it was very very small. It doesn't come with anything other than the sandwich. That made me expect a large sandwich. It didn't even fill the little paper boat thing they serve it in. We got sweet tea and a bag of chips. Hubby got the turkey sandwich. Was also grilled- the turkey was nice, but the cranberry jam overpowered any other flavor. It was really small as well and was $18. The two bags of sun chips and a drink should have been included in that price, but it wasn't... we knew that, so it's cool, but expected larger meals for walking out with a $38 bill. They also don't have any burgers any more, so the menu here should be updated. Sweet tea was over steeped, and that wouldn't be a big deal either except again.... $$$! Lovely spot, pretty tasty! Still hungry.

From the start, the service set the tone. My server had that perfect balance--attentive, helpful, and genuinely engaged without hovering. It made the evening feel relaxed and easy. I started with the Parmesan fries because, honestly, who skips Parmesan fries when they're on the menu? They were crisp, flavorful, and just indulgent enough to feel like the right decision. For the entrée, I ordered the pan-seared salmon, and it did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection, and the seasoning complemented the fish beautifully. The risotto was creamy and well-prepared, and the green beans had that fresh, crisp texture that tied everything together. The atmosphere added to the experience. Being set inside a beautifully restored historic property gave the place character. It felt like a spot where locals gathered--there was a familiarity in the room that made it feel like the place to see and be seen. And while it didn't hurt to walk in alongside the head of the local hospital (pure coincidence, and no, I wasn't a patient), the restaurant stood on its own merit. If you're driving through Big Spring or staying the night, Settles Grill was well worth the stop. It's a place where you don't "settle" at all--you simply have a very good meal in a setting that feels both welcoming and established.

I can't say enough about her level of friendliness and attentiveness. The food was just OK. The fried Okra was nice and lite. Came out hot. But lacked any kind of seasoning. A little salt when it came out of the fryer would have made a huge difference. I ordered the Ribeye with Shrimp. It came with a side salad and baked potato. The side salad was what you would expect from Denny's. The baked potato was very good with simply butter, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese. The steak wasn't bad. Not great, but somewhere in the middle. It did need a lot of salt for my taste. The shrimp were great! Probably didn't need anything more. The bed of veggies that were under the steak were probably the star of the dish! They were very good! The restaurant itself is casual, which is just what I wanted. Very laid back. Very comfortable booths in new condition. Also plenty of tables that you could probably put together if you have a large group. Plenty of parking I think in the back.
