The food is made to order, service is always super fast, and the family is incredibly kind and friendly. I don't know what makes those egg rolls pink, but they're delicious! For a small town like Snyder, Texas - it's wonderful to find a great variety of cuisines. This is just one such gem in Snyder! From the second we walked in the door, the cherry and welcoming staff made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Prompt, courteous, helpful and customer focused. The decor was authentic and comfortable. Clearly a place that has put their heart and soul into their business. We tried two appetizers (cream cheese wonton & fried dumplings - both exceeded expectations, and were perfectly prepared with great sauces and flavor. We tried three entres to get a feel for the place our first time (General Tso, Teriyaki chicken, cashew chicken) the General Tao was our favorite, but all were good and I'm already looking forward to the leftovers! The teriyaki chicken and cashew chicken were not quite what we expected based on how other restaurantes serve it / but they were both wonderful and definitely this restaurantes own spin. This was my first time there. It was about 2pm, so I was the only one there. The staff were very friendly and nice. I had the peppered steak with rice and some egg drop soup. Overall, I give the meal 6.7 fortune cookies out of 10. I'd definitely go back upon revisiting Snyder. read more

Horrendous doesn't even begin to cover it! I found their menu online and figured it seemed cheap enough so I'd order a few different things to try... If you like HOT PINK, you will love their egg rolls and crab rangoon... It was just a HOT PINK toothpaste like filling in both.. The General Taos was a few chunks of chicken in a citrus-y tasting glaze that was unnaturally orange and had more vegetables in it than anything.. The lo mein was literally boiled noodles, no sauce! Seriously?! When I first called to place the order I should've known better.. Placing the order was more difficult than it should've been and to wrap up the call, the lady said 'Thank you, Love you, See you soon!' What?!?! As I was leaving with what ended up being $20 worth of food crammed into a tiny brown lunch sack, the same girl said 'Love you! Come back!' Ummm no.. This little hidden out of the way spot is a gem. I dont understand the bad reviews posted here. The owner's wife waited on my wife and me. She was the most kind and sweet person as she told us about all the various dishes. I had the Love Nest Fried Rice of Shrimp, chicken, pork with their special prepared signature fried rice. Great! My wife had a vegetable shrimp and chicken dish served on a cow shaped hot place with brown sauce and the signature fried rice. We loved it as well. As good as the food was it didn't match the sweet and charming personality of the owner who served us. Would love to eat here often... but we were just passing through back to our home in the Ft. Worth area. But if we are ever by this way we will surely eat here again! read more

The most delicious Asian food in West Texas hands down. Everything we have had has been fabulous. Quality ingredients and freshly made. I can't rave enough about how good the food is here. Great meal! Last night was our first time there and we enjoyed ourselves. I had the Waikiki Chicken which is breaded & deep fried topped with a very sweet sauce, maraschino cherries & pineapple chunks. The Man had the shrimp chicken broccoli dish and we both enjoyed it. It's heavily sauced with broccoli, carrots, cabbage & more! The fried rice reminded me more of Zaterains Dirty Rice, it was good but not what we were hoping for in a fried rice. The egg rolls were good too. The owners are super friendly and welcomed us with open arms. We will be back. read more

That was almost the worst food i have ever eaten. I say almost; because, 1 bite from 3 dishes was all i could do. The fried shrimp was 90% batter and small shrimp inside and came without dipping sauce. The pepper steak looked like a can of Alpo and tasted horrible. The fried rice was equally terrible. I politely told the server "we cannot eat this" (my wife and I), so she began scrutinizing me. Where was i from, etc. She said "this is Hong Kong style food" LMAO! I asked her, "are you from Hong Kong" answer, "no" I then asked, " Have you ever been to Hong Kong?" No of course not. I thanked them and paid for the 2 drinks and nasty appetiser. Wow. I am not exaggerating. This was the worst meal I have had in YEARS. I called for delivery, and they said their driver wasn't there, but I could wait if I wanted. They said he didn't get off his regular job until 5 so he wasn't there yet (Uhm...it's after 6, but OK.). I said fine, and placed my order. She was very nice and accommodating. An hour and a half later, I received a call that the driver had arrived and did I still want my order. Well YES! The food arrived about 20 minutes later. They only accept cash and in-town checks, by the way, for you out of town business travelers who are accustomed to putting everything on the credit card. However...do not eat here. The General Tso's chicken...how do you mess this up? This is a typical dish served everywhere, and it made me sick (literally). The sauce tasted like nothing I've ever had before. The Bakami (sp?) beef was extremely salty and dry and chewy - cheapest beef they could find I think, and all they did was soak it in soy sauce. The crab rangoon (my favorite) tasted...off. Like it was going bad. The hot mustard they sent with it WAS rancid. Even the fortune cookie, which I eagerly opened because despite all this food I was starving, because it was all inedible, the fortune cookie was disgusting and I think also going bad. The owner/server is a wonderful lady, she works tirelessly to tend to the needs of everyone who goes in. On top of that she still finds time to converse with all the regular customers. Every time my friends and I go in she has all our orders memorized. On top of having her, the good is good and in good proportions. I have never left feeling unsatisfied. We were in Snyder and feel lucky to have found Polynesian Garden! This place was very good. We had Crab Rangoon and Steamed Dumplings as appetizers. Both were very good. We had Sesame Chicken, Shrimp Egg Foo Yung, and Special Fried Rice. All of it was great. We will definitely eat at Polynesian Garden when we are in Snyder again. read more

First. It had a strange smell as we walked in but then we were like oh well let's see. Give it a chance. The simplest way I can put it is.....the food was terrible. The waitress and staff were fake as can be and the smell never went away. All I could think was that they tried to mask the scent with cheap air freshener but underneath it all....I could envision the dead rodents. Yes. That's exactly how it smelled. Do not go there. The Polynesian Garden is a well established mom & pop business that recently changed hands in ownership. Most locals have been hitting this place up regularly since its founding, and it's not going away anytime soon. The new owners are incredibly friendly and the food is arguably better than ever. Service can be a little slow when they're busy, but they have a Sunday buffet for those who don't care to wait through a good rush. The purple cabbage eggrolls are excellent and the owner mentioned recently that they actually ship eggrolls to ex-snyderites frequently. The sweet & sour sauce is home made as are others; these guys don't rely on many pre-prepared sauces like chain-ish asian buffets tend to. The teriyaki chicken is killer - it comes with steamed veggies and a very hard-to-match white wine sauce. Presentation is great and consistent with all of their dishes. The polynesian garden is a rare find - it's a mom & pop asian establishment that has somehow managed to survive in rural West Texas. Not many people in human history have said "Hey, I know! Let's move to Snyder and start selling Asian food!" Snyder just got really, really lucky way back when. When was this business founded? read more

Man I really hate to do this....but I'm going to compare the food to Chinese food bought at the mall, placed in the fridge for 4 days, and then microwaved 2 minutes to long. I couldn't even finish the fortune cookie because it didn't taste good either. FYI, I love Chinese food. read more

Genuinely not sure what some of these bad reviews are talking about. All of that staff was incredibly polite/nice and we were never without anything (drinks, sauce etc.). We ordered a wide variety of food (dumplings, crab rangoon, sesame chicken, special fried rice and egg foo yung) and love all of it. The crab rangoon did have an unusual filling consistency but tasted great and the sesame chicken was some of the best I've ever had, not over-breaded, nice and crispy.
