If your finding this restaurant, and your in WINTERS TEXAS, this place is not even close. Just a little info. Because I found this listing while visiting my grandparents in Winters, this place is shown to be right out by the lake. Well after some research, it's not. I knew it was too good to be true. So, my Lovely Wife, knowing that I Love Cheeseburgers, suggested that we have my Birthday Lunch in Robert Lee. So, we did just that and met up with Joe at "Another Place Cafe". My Wife and I arrived a little past what we scheduled, but close enough. Joe was already inside, enjoying a cup of coffee. Another Place Cafe, from the outside, looks like a hole-in-the-wall type, but inside it's done up nicely. Joe had a Birthday gift for me, all wrapped. I opened it, and it was a model of a Volkswagen Bus, with flames - pretty cool. I will add this to my collection of model cars in the office. Don't remember who our server was, and it's not on the receipt. Joe ordered a basket of hand battered Large Onion Rings, served with Ranch for us to share. My Wife ordered the "Grilled Cheese Sandwich"; three slices of cheese, 2 American and 1 Swiss, on lightly buttered grilled bread, and a side of Large Onion Rings. Joe is having the "Chicken Strips" served with a bowl of Creamy Gravy, and two sides, choosing Mashed Potatoes and Fried Okra. I am going with what I mentioned, their "Double-Cheeseburger"; Two 1/2 pound Seasoned Patties & Two slices of American Cheese, with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, and sauce on a Soft Hamburger Bun. Choose Sweet Potato Fries as my side. My drink is Diet Dr Pepper. Orders are in, and our basket of Large Onion Rings has arrived. They are Golden Brown with a nice crunch and a very fresh onion ring with nice flavor. They are Delicious and a very nice ranch to dip them into. This place is pretty busy and has some great write-ups. Soon our food arrived, and Joe's Chicken Strips are Golden Brown and HUGE, and look perfectly breaded. They must be delicious because he ate all of them. My Wife enjoyed her Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and I drooled over my Double-Cheeseburger. It is evenly stacked up high with a couple of nice-sized patties covered with cheese. Took my first bite and this is Yummlicious, with a perfect balance of Cheese to these patties. A Huge slice of Tomato with lots of Lettuce and 4 Pickles that add that inside crunch. This is a great tasting Cheeseburger, and I see why Joe recommended this. My Sweet Potato fries are prepared just the way I like'em, fresh with lots of flavor. I was only going to eat half of the Cheeseburger, but then it tasted so good, and I was drooling with liciousness, I couldn't help but eat the whole thing. Lots of customers came in, some stayed to eat while others picked-up and took out. Everyone in the area and beyond knows about Another Place Cafe, and it's well attended. If you are looking for an out-of-the-way-place, the Another Place Cafe is that place. It's only 40 minutes from San Angelo, and it's some really good food, no matter what you order. Our Server (name unknown) received the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm - and she didn't know what to think of it, but had a huge smile on her face.

This place has been there a while and always has customers we thought we'd give it a try. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable! The restaurant was clean. It has a diner feel, nothing fancy but just right. They have daily specials but the prices overall are very reasonable. They have a simple salad bar which was included in our meals and we enjoyed it. I had the chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes. It was fresh, not from frozen. And really good! I got the gravy on the side as I expected to take home leftovers. The mashed potatoes were a large portion and very tasty. The fold was also fresh and warm and very good. My husband had the fried pork chop w a baked potato. He really enjoyed his too. We left with a ton of leftovers. I ordered my son a chicken strips and fries to go and he really enjoyed it all too! It's great home cooking that's reasonably priced. Totally worth going!

I had the Chicken Fried Steak special with a baked potato (butter and sour cream), and it was exceptionally tasty--perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. While my onion rings were unfortunately left out of the order, it turned out to be a minor issue because my grandmother and I shared her side of fried okra, which was served in a large portion. My grandmother, who is 98 and typically eats very little, ordered the small three-piece chicken strip meal but was pleasantly surprised to receive six large strips. These weren't your typical frozen chicken tenders; they were clearly cut from fresh breast meat and appeared to be hand-breaded. The fried okra was also excellent--crispy, flavorful, and abundant. Since this was a takeout order, I can't comment on the dine-in experience, but the pickup process at the drive-thru window was smooth and convenient. All of the recipes are Ms Linda's, and they are DELICIOUS. The catfish was perfect, crispy and flavorful, and we had some of her homemade tartar sauce to dip. For the sides we had baked potatoes (BEST baked potato I've ever eaten- seriously) and green beans. The blackberry cobbler was made with blackberries from the owners garden, and homemade. While we were eating, Ms Linda came by and chatted with us about the town, the restaurant, her recipes, and asked us about where we were headed. The strawberry salad with feta and almonds was delicious, and I loved the vinaigrette--it was the homemade version of what that weird red "French dressing" that I hated as a kid was apparently trying to be! So good! The lettuce wraps with chicken salad and bacon were also fantastic, as was the creamy Italian sausage soup. I guess the person that makes these things is not there on Thursday morning. Which left like two omelettes on their menu that you could order. When I tried to order the crepes the lady said she couldn't make them, they took too long. We were the only people in the restaurant. I was really looking forward to those crepes. We drive through here once a week on Thursday. Guess we won't go there.
