The Good: You walk in the door and there is cookies and coffee for you. Who wants to be at the dentist without your morning coffee? The staff is friendly and personable. Lots of chatter about the family and kids and such. Hygienists are friendly and fast. Dr. Mazzuchelli tends for the least invasive options first and if you're seeing him regularly, generally he doesn't need to drill anything. The Bad: The office is in an old strip mall that's seen better days. The whole place is kinda small and there aren't many rooms. I don't really care about the look that much because the people and service matter to me. Others might want a more modern office. The Tech: They use digital sensors for the xrays so that reduces the amount of radiation compared to the old plate bitewings. They also have used a "sand blast" technique for cavities instead of drilling. It meant no pain for the cavity, but the inside of my mouth felt like I'd eaten captain crunch. So it's a trade off. Summary: I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Mazzuchelli to anyone and everyone who wants a good dentist. The office is thorough, fair and absolutely honest (despite other Yelper's claims).

My teeth are in perfect health so this did not seem necessary. He also told me I had 9 cavities. A couple months later I went to another dentist and he said I had no cavities and I didn't need all those unnecessary x rays. I also received a bill in the mail from Dr. Mazzuchelli stating that I owe $100 since he is not an in network dentist on my insurance. I would not recommend this establishment or dentist.

With the new increased charge for fluoride added to the charge for today's visit I would pay almost the same amount for one visit as I have been paying for the yearly plan. Which turned out to be just in the nick of time, as I had several tooth issues happen all at once. She was professional, courteous, and worked alongside me to replace several crowns and give me several new ones. Dr Rudd doesn't use laughing gas, but will not hesitate to use all the novocaine in the office if she needs to, which is great for me because I have the lowest possible threshold for pain. I've never encountered any issue with her care. Once time I needed to be seen quickly for a minor adjustment (grinding down of one of the crowns) and she made room in her schedule the next day, even basically opened the office for me. I have no doubt that she would go above and beyond for me, and that's not something I ever got form the cookie-cutter dental practices. The practice was recommended by a church friend. When I was not having problems with my teeth, they were great. They did a filling on my front tooth which was well done. The hygienist is friendly as is Dr. Rudd. There were several events that transpired my last years with this practice that caused me to leave. The first of these concerns two crowns that needed done. One was a replacement and the other was new. When they did the crowns, I was not numbed properly. Dr. Rudd seemed to get irritated. She did and does not have a dental assistant. The crowns were put on and there was still sensitivity that was dismissed after every appointment when brought up. Food kept getting caught in the crown area. I ended up changing dentists and found out that the sensitivity was from a nick in the tooth of those crowns that was done by Dr. Rudd. She nicked the one tooth when drilling and preparing the next. I almost lost the tooth because the nick went deep. The new dentist saved it, and so far it seems to be okay. I had to pay out of pocket to replace a new crown. I was fine with it because I did not trust Dr. Rudd to replace it. The other events had to do with another crown. The temporary crown was installed and the root was exposed. After reading Acworth Dental's lowest google review from 4 years ago by Caitlin Conn, it was like Deja vu. My wife and I moved to the Governors Towne Club in Feb 2023 and after settling into the community we eventually began to select businesses and various medical and dental practices to serve our family needs. We landed on Acworth Dental and Dr. Daniel Lee for routine cleanings. My wife is fortunate enough to have little or no issues with her teeth. On the other hand, I have had a few fillings, a root canal and a few crowns along the way. I have been lucky enough to have had excellent dentists who have provided what I have considered only necessary and quality dental work. After reading the biology professor's, review of Acworth Dental I felt a very uncomfortable feeling come over me. I had the same experience of Dr. Lee putting a "watch" on a tooth. The next thing I know he recommends drilling out an old filling and crowning the tooth. The drilling went on for hours. And I left with a temporary that lasted for a day. I returned and they reinstalled the temporary. If I had researched Dr. Lee's reviews (Caitlin Conn's) I would have gotten a second opinion prior to allowing Dr Lee to crown my tooth. Dr. Lee took x-rays and pictures of my tooth to give me confidence that the crown was necessary. I am the type of person who confides in a healthcare provider until I feel I have a reason not to. Dr. Lee stated prior to starting the procedure that I had a "Hairline crack" in the identified tooth he had been "watching". He never mentioned or recommended having a 3-D CT Scan of the tooth to confirm the severity of the crack in my tooth. Since I obviously have no dental training, I had no idea that there was another type of X-ray available that Dr Lee had not and could not provide because he did not possess the proper equipment until after the procedure of drilling out my tooth and installing a ~$1,500.00 crown. After returning home from Acworth Dental and the numbing wearing off, I immediately felt sensitivity to cold water. Hoping it would eventually improve, I waited a couple of days before calling back for advice. Dr. Lee had his assistant recommend I go to an Endodontist outside of his practice for. 3-D Scan to determine if the tooth was cracked all the way through. I was horrified to say the least to find that he had drilled away a significant part of a tooth as well as left a sharp edge on an adjacent tooth with a gold crown without first confirming the full condition of the tooth. I was also told that the 3-D scan would reveal to the Endodontist whether or not the tooth was cracked beyond repair and identify if it would require a Root Canal or Extraction. I called the Endodontist to inquire about the cost and to make an appointment. They quoted over $300.00. I decided that before spending an additional $300+ on my newly crowned tooth, that I would speak with Dr. Lee at Acworth Dental to confirm that he would refund or apply the $1,500.00 I had just spent with him a week or two before, to the remedy cost of a Root Canal or Extraction and Implant if was so deemed necessary by the Endodontist. Each remedy procedure would be in great excess of the $1,500.00 I had already spent. When I sat down with Dr.Lee yesterday to discuss his decision not to conduct a 3-D Scan of my cracked tooth prior to the Crowning procedure he said he didn't normally do that. "Not the right answer" by my standards. I asked why he recommended it after the fact, and then he reversed his recommendation and stated he didn't think it was necessary and I would be wasting $300.00. I asked him if I had the 3-D CT Scan, and it was determined that the tooth required one of the aforementioned procedures to remedy the situation, would he refund or apply the $1,500 already paid. I believe he gambled with my tooth and pocket book to ensure I bought a crown. He stated he would NOT refund and he had to pay "his girls", lab, supplies etc. the most he would agree to do wold be a $300 Extraction if necessary in less than one year. That's only 20% of what I have already spent. It is my understanding that this practice does crowns "all day long every day"!

My first experience in 2013 had Dr Halpern pulling a molar. I was stunned at how quickly he was able to extract such a big tooth. His secret was cutting the tooth back from the gum. Very little pulling was needed and there was no discomfort at all! He then cleaned the wound and packed the space with bone material to promote regrowth. Just yesterday, I needed another molar pulled and trusted Northwest Periodontics again. I was not disappointed. Dr Halpern was not available, but his exceptionally capable partner, Dr ElMaraghi performed magnificently. She was as professional, quick and painless, and had an excellent bedside manner. In between these two extractions at Northwest Perio, I needed two other teeth pulled and used my local dentist each time, for expedience. I regretted that decision both times. My eye tooth was pulled by my local dentist in Woodstock. He admitted he does not like pulling teeth, but this was an emergency. My second molar was pulled by my dentist in Cartersville shortly after we moved here. That was a disaster. There was considerable pain and discomfort, one more than the other, but neither "repaired" the damage from the extraction. There is a noticeable difference between the two areas on which Northwest worked and the two areas on which the other dentists worked. Just the other day, I needed another molar removed and used my cleaning appointment to get it done. Not only did I get my teeth cleaned, but then Dr ElMaraghi pulled the tooth! It was all quick and painless and very efficient. I will recommend these folks to anyone who needs periodontal work done. This last time, I had to drive from Cartersville, and it was worth it.

I had a lanap surgery and kept telling her that there was something in the gums of my two front teeth and she kept insisting I was wrong . Sure enough there was a piece of bone that she had hit during the surgery which chipped off and got stuck in the front of my gums. She prescribed rounds of antibiotics and a root canal that I probably did not need. Then she did a sinus flap surgery on me and I am having complications from that and have had to go to an ENT . Of course she will probably say it was just my anatomy but from my research if the surgeon is not super careful there can be a lot of inflammation which is what I am experiencing. I gave her the benefit of the doubt with the first surgery but after having problems with the second I can't help but think it is the surgeon. I understand that things happen but I think what upset me the most is the way she handled it both times. She was extremely defensive , to the point of telling me that this complication I'm having now had nothing to do with the surgery and the ENT confirmed that it was as a result of the surgery.
