Always great service and amazing taste! This is my favorite meal and I get it every time we travel back to Vancouver! Nobody does it like Hula boy! Even grabbed a bottle of teriyaki sauce to take back to Arizona! I like the seating area and staff when we go in a dine in the restaurant and it's always good to pick up and take home as well! Thanks for the great Hawaiian food and vibes!

Number 18 w/ mushrooms and onions added. Also comes with Mac salad and a veggie not pictured here.

I think its a large portion of food for what you are paying. The inside is very cute and service was okay, took them a bit to acknowledge me but they were extremely busy. The mac salad needed salt or maybe extra mayo. The plate itself was delicious but needed a few things of Teriyaki sauce. Number 18 combo plate with mushrooms and onions added. I don't think it would be that good if I did not add those two things extra.

Still pretty good considering. I used to love this place and havent been here in years. My honey ordered us a Half chicken half beef bowl. The quality of meat was okay but the order was wrong. We got all beef. Also, we asked for sauce on the side and the worker proceed to ring up 5 sauces at .75 cents each. Of course after noticing the price jump he asked were you going to tell me it was extra for sauce on the side? She had a blank look and apologized but I am not sure why that was taught on her first shift. The prices are a bit higher than I expected. Other than that food portion was decent.

Always great. Fast service. Grabbed some dinner to go for the family. Always a good time when I come in a pick up my food. Love this place.

Came in and sat down, our server came over immediately and helped answer any questions we had. The food came out super fast it was hot and delicious. The only complaint I had was there were small pieces of burnt charcoal throughout and were very crunchy. They have some amazing sauces on the table the Jamaican jerk is my favorite! The restaurant itself is very casual and was clean. Will come back!

This is my husband's favorite spot for Hawaiian food in Vancouver. It's been awhile since we've stopped in and he wanted to come in for lunch after running errands over the weekend. We were greeted and seated right away. The waiter brought us menus and came back with waters for us while we looked over the menu. I usually always get either the Portuguese sausage and spam plate or the kahlua pig but decided on kalbi ribs and coconut shrimp this time. Ribs were good and flavorful. Coconut shrimp was okay. Their Jamaican jerk sauce is also a fave of ours. Portions and prices are decent for most of their plates. The restaurant was clean and staff was nice. It started getting busy as we were eating and a few people had to wait for tables. Definitely a hole in the wall place and 1 of the better Hawaiian restaurants around Vancouver.

I work up the street and grabbed lunch to go. Everything tasted good but the veggie's were a little bland, large portion, restaurant was clean, and the service was quick.

Kalbi Ribs with Mac Salad and Marinated Cucumber

Swung through Hula Boy for dinner to go this past weekend. The vibe was solid in the restaurant (even though we didn't stay) but it definitely has that "hole-in-the-wall" feeling. I had the Kalbi Ribs with the Mac Salad and Marinate Cucumber Salad. Overall, the flavors were good! The ribs were also good, with tender meat and good flavoring. In terms of quantity, I was shocked - that was a LOT of food! All in all, it's not the best Hawaiian I've had, but it was pretty darn good and hit the spot.

    Lomi Salmon
    Kal C.

Not great. Joy teriyaki's short ribs are better, somehow. If you want good Hawaiian, go to Smokin' Fire Fish in Portland. This entire order, minus two meats, was a disappointment. The lomi salmon was pico de gallo and no salmon. The side of fruit was 4 grapes and a tiny piece of pineapple. The yakisoba was nothing I've ever seen before, and noodles were half cooked. Look at their health score, as well.

    27. Combination Plate to go with corn and Mac salad.

Hula Boy is always a solid choice. They're fast, reasonably priced and serve huge portions. Consistently a favorite in Vancouver!

They had one special menu and the manapua man noodles and gaugee caught my eye. That's like the perfect combo. But we skipped out on gaugee and got the manapua man noodles. Wish the options for the additions was one fried chicken but instead it was either pork belly or sweet sour chicken. Which isn't usually the kind of combo I would get. Especially if you label it manapua man noodles. The noodles tasted more like fried noodle / fried saimin style since it was cooked on a wok. I do miss the simplicity of a manapua noodle where you dress it with shoyu and sirracha. But these noodles weren't bad. They were super flavorful. Portion was huge! My husband said he could've gone without the pork belly. The pork belly was meh. The noodles tho, ono! I also went with the japolo chicken and kalbi combo, which is my go to. Kalbi is saucy and so flavorful! The chicken is nice and crispy. My only thing is that my plate was swimming in sauce. And when it touches the rice, it's a no for me. Wish had some buffer like cabbage to catch the sauce. Other than that, food is always ono here. Service is also friendly and the place is nice and clean with lots of seating!

My partner and I got the grilled bbq chicken and the bbq short ribs + marinated beef. Unfortunately, the deep fried chicken was sold out for the day (we came in about 45 minutes until closing so perhaps our fault). I think because of the time we came in- we got kitchen scraps. The short ribs were 90% fat and 10% actual meat. The macaroni salad was incredibly plain, it needed more seasoning - pepper something because it straight up looked it was pasta with slabbed mayo. I will however give a shot out to their poke because I don't eat seafood nor like it and I did give this a try for the fun of it and it was delicious. Again I think because we came in 40-45 minutes before closing closing the service was not great either. I saw the self service bottles of sauce and when I came back I asked the lady for one and she said she had run out when it was pretty clear she was just cleaning up. Fair- you want to get out of there on time. So I asked the lady for hot sauce and she said it was extra and charged me $1.00 per 2.5oz container which is just diabolical in my opinion- I still paid none the less so it's my dusky for contribution to the fiasco. Overall it was mid, I'm used to much more flavorful food in Los Angeles. Ill give it another go whenever I'm in the area at a different time. Perhaps it was a one off day for them.

But today, I had the time to swing by and fortunately he was open, but SOLD OUT. Fortunately, he had a few things left over. So I said yes to a mix plate. Nolan's Hawaii accent is still thick it made me feel like I was back home on the west side for a second (!!!!thank you!!!!) I met some people outside the food stand, a business man from Hawaii and some California people I mistaken were from Hawaii as well, lol. It was an awesome interaction, from the moment I got there I got greeted by strangers waiting for food, to going up to the window and asking "so what? No more nuttin left?" Nolan's response was "Nah I only get mochicko chicken and kalua, you likem?" Haha that was a definite yes! Won't miss out on home food esp if word of mouth was already out there. So I waited a few minutes for my food, and the box was heavy. Haha it felt like when you would eat at your aunty and uncles house and they pack you the party left overs. I opened my plate lunch and I was greeted by a huge portion of chicken, pork rice and Mac salad. And let me tell you, the Mac salad didn't have so much frills like what you would see in a Portland Hawaii food joint. It was sauced, and seasoned. PERFECT! No need for all the extra add ons. As I started eating, let me say that kalua pork was no joke so moist and easy to eat not even close to dried out. The chicken tasted nice and crispy with just enough marinate and fluff. I haven't found this anywhere in Oregon..until here. Yeah sure there's a poke and katsu bar in the shopping center next door... but I take the random food cart in the parking lot any day over something franchised

The spam fries were $9 for half a can of spam cut up and put in the oven with a side of mayo? The loco moco was promising but tasted like something you'd get at Kenjis - not a Hawaiian spot.
