We found a spot on the big covered street patio, which was absolutely buzzing. Nearly every table was occupied, there were several other four-legged patrons relaxing with their humans, and somehow the whole thing still had an easy, laid-back neighborhood feel. Exactly what I needed after a very demanding day of being carried around Montreal. Mum and Dad ordered a couple of drinks. Then they ordered the popcorn with Manchego, chili and lime. Friends. This was not ordinary popcorn. It arrived piled ridiculously high with chili-lime seasoning and what may have been the finest Parmesan-adjacent cheese shavings these eyes have ever witnessed. Editor's note from Mum: It was Manchego. Whatever. There was cheese. I became extremely interested. Mum and Dad kept saying things like, "Oh wow, this is really good," while eating piece after piece directly in front of me. I believe the official hospitality term for this is hostile dining. Still, Henrietta turned out to be exactly the kind of place we love finding while traveling: not somewhere we necessarily planned our entire day around, but somewhere we wandered into, sat down with the dog, ordered a couple of drinks and suddenly realized we were having a really nice afternoon. The covered patio is especially great because you still get all the Montreal street life without feeling like you're sitting directly on the sidewalk. And judging by my fellow canine customers, I wasn't the only one who approved. Dogba's verdict: 4.7 paws out of 5. Drinks for the humans: plentiful Fellow four-legged patrons: several Covered patio: excellent Signature popcorn: apparently phenomenal Quantity of cheese within sniffing distance: alarming Quantity of cheese allocated to Dogba: we need to talk Would return. Preferably before Mum and Dad reach the bottom of the popcorn.

The forest-like decor was only the beginning of an incredible time. We started with some exceptionally crafted cocktails and mimosas (obviously). Then we ordered our food. WOW The sweet potato waffles with autumn spices and apricot almost had us fainting from deliciousness and the tender yet crispy, spicy honey fried chicken was among the best we've ever had. Both dishes were packed with a genius mix of intense flavours we haven't been able to stop thinking about. And to top it all off the phenomenal attitude and efficiency of every one of the four people who served us gave us a renewed respect for an industry we thought was dying. We were extremely impressed by every part of our experience and we can't wait to return for supper.

We got situated in the bottom floor area where there was a Dj and other patrons enjoying their drinks and food. We only came here for drinks, so I got my server to surprise me with a mock tail since I was pregnant, and we got some fries on the side to munch on. Menu for food wasn't extensive, more for snacking than dining imo. Server came back with fries and our drinks. My drink was surprisingly good, I had to make sure there was no alcohol, since I could taste somewhat of gin in there, but there wasn't! The fries were hot and fresh, so good! The other 4 ladies had no problem devouring their alcohol infused drinks, plus a couple of shots and off to another bar we go!

This is a curious place. In a nutshell, excellent eats, but quite rough off the plates. I'll…read morestart with the maitre'd/host, who was sufficiently surly that you might actually mistake him for being a French caricature out of central casting. Our seating was really great, nice and spacious. Our server was simply... the best. She was attentive, gave us excellent recos -- we elected for a smattering of shareable à la carte small plates rather than the three course tasting menu (there seemed to be so much overlap between the two menus anyway, so we elected for the flexibility of à la carte). The boudin with small prawns was fantastic -- the boudin itself held up in flavor yet was delicate in texture. Excellent burrata that came dressed with really fresh accompaniments and mad points for the rustic bread that came nicely toasted. The octopus was generous enough for four of us to have a good taste and move on -- it came with a lovely red sauce that I wanted to mop up with bread. The tuna tartare was brilliant, the french fries that came with it seemed a tad unconventional. And a big win for the lobster risotto, absolute perfection. I wish I could remember the names of the cocktails we ordered but suffice to say, they were all delicious, never harsh in any way. So one thing I wanted to point out was how this one server -- not our main server who was, again, THE BEST -- kept clearing out plates in the middle of eating. Literally, we're in the middle of enjoying a dish and he'd just swoop in, swipe our plates, and dash off. WTF is that about. This lack of awareness definitely took points off an otherwise rather enjoyable meal. Just watch out for the surly host at the front of house and be prepared to fan off the guy trying to take your plate and you just may have yourself a delightful meal here!

It was quite busy (and many people had reserved tables in the main space, to we were told to sit in the little patio in the back. I was originally worried about the cold, but the patio was so well heated, I was even able to take off my coat for a little bit. Their rhum menu is insane, and both me and my brother for delicious rhum cocktails, although I'm honestly having trouble remembering exactly which ones. We both ordered tacos (one of the only items on their surprisingly limited menu for a Tapas place). I got the fish tacos and my brother got the chicken ones. Not the best tacos in the world but definitely serviceable. We both decided that although both good, the chicken was better. We also got the churros for dessert which were fine, but weirdly underdone in the middle, I didn't know if it was purposeful. The service was a bit slow, I sometimes wondered if the server had forgotten about us since we were in the back patio, but our server was so sweet it really made up for it. Would definitely come back, especially for $1 oyster night !

As a table of 4, we started by sharing the Charcuterie platter Plein Sud. Unfortunately, we dug in too fast for me to take a picture, but it was very beautiful. Came with several varieties of cured meats, cheeses, grapes, fig jam, and nuts. The only complaint is that the pieces of cheese were so incredibly small, like the size of a piece of cheese you'd cut at home to eat yourself. But these tiny pieces were meant for sharing. We asked the waitress for a wine recommendation, but she didn't seem well versed in wine and kept telling us all the wine was good. We were looking for a more specific recommendation then that. Fortunately her colleague was more helpful and had a better handle on the wine menu. For entrees, we each had our own dish. I had the gnocchi with veal (reading from my previous review, it was good but I didn't see these gnocchis as potato clouds like before). The other guests had the steak tartare with fries (fries were so good!), seafood ravioli (looked generous and creamy), and the porc Jarrett. All the entrees were nicely plated and delicious! We ended the evening with the Brioche pain perdu with caramel salé. I thought this was going to be just okay, but it was super good and decadent! For a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was medium busy. But service was a little slow, we were told there was only one chef and she was working alone. So given that context, she was working as quickly and well as she could!

The karaoke is on the second floor and it's quite spacious and comes with lots of 5$ deals (all entrees and basic calamari, as well as a 5$ gin and tonic loaded with gin so definitely worth the price). They open the second floor at 8pm and the guy comes in at 8:30pm to start playing songs. Once more people show up, it does drag on a bit because there are more songs to go through before it's your turn. Also, if you're shy there's a bigger audience. Loved my time here so much!
