Potential customers of this Hugo Boss location, PLEASE listen carefully... and tread with caution if you do decide to shop here after this review (this is coming from a ten plus year Hugo Boss client). I most likely will never be shopping at Hugo Boss after this experience. I purchased a dress shirt approximately two weeks ago and it did not fit me right. I have purchased over twenty dress shirts at Hugo Boss over the years, mainly for work and never have dealt with an issue like this. My story is below: When I attempted to return my dress shirt today, I was met with extreme attitude and denial of my return, mainly from the General Manager, Edward. The dress shirt that I was trying to return was brand new, worn for a couple hours after I decided to take it off due to it being extremely uncomfortable as the fit was not right. Executive management of Hugo Boss overseeing these customer reviews: If you are reading this review, I would highly encourage you to review management procedures at this location as the employees and management team of this store are not representing the brand of Hugo Boss in a professional manner. As consumers and long-term clients, simple acts like this make us never want to shop at the brand again. HORRIBLE SERVICE ! walked in there needing to buy a couple of polos and shirts for my games after party against Vancouver White Caps FC Sunday at the BMO stadium. Needed help with a polo I wanted to get but the guys looked at me and kept talking to each other. Never greeted me or asked if I needed help. As soon as another couple who looked " like they had money " they came to the front greeting them and asking if they needed help. Very disrespectful. Purchased sweater. Costed around $3.5k. Came in a plastic bag inside a box like an Amazon package. Never buy from Hugo Boss online, or this store as they don't want your business. Since this was a gift I went to their physical store to ask for a gift box or bag. Costa Mesa location states it closes at 9:00pm. I arrived at 8:02pm expecting an open store. To ask for a gift box or bag. The girl didn't even approach the door and just shook her head and yelled we're closed. I would never bother any business when they are closing as I've been there and want to leave ASAP. Correct your hours. And if you can, at least hear out a customer who's simply asking for a bag that drove 20miles, since online orders legit look like warehouse items. I will say thank you to the guy assuming manager who gave me a bag, but ran out of gift boxes. read more

Sales team added tailoring extra charges without my consent! I bought a suit at this location, without asking me they started taking measurements to tailor my suit, since they didn't mention anything about an extra charge for tailoring I left the store. I bought clones less than a month ago in Ralp Lauren and the tailoring was completely free. When I got home I saw my ticket and realized that they charge about $200 for tailoring. I came back to the Store and confronted the manager, explained him that his sales person charge me without my consent, he explained that's a normal behavior for his store and that none has complained about it. I told him that there is nothing wrong about charging for tailoring as long as you tell the customer before charging him, and that he need it to train is sales people to do that, but he didn't care to apply such policy. My advise: - Don't leave this store without reviewing your itemized ticket, extra charges are normal for this store - Ralp Lauren gives you tailoring for free and the prices are similar. read more

The retail sales team here on the floor are great, very helpful, and very courteous. The problem here is their manager, a black rude guy that does not know how to talk to customers, in other words an AH. He just butt in the conversation and started talking in a very demeaning and bad attitude. That guy should not be there, especially in a high end retail location. read more

I did receive the shirt. But I am not happy at all . Hugo Boss should reconsider many things.  I did receive wrong item.  I Did order a polo black long sleeve shirt , but I got a T shirt like red or brisk color. , I did ask for special package to be wrapped.  I got the order like Amazon. , very thin paper around the T shirt in Amazon box. Last week I went to the store at south cost plaza and I spend almost $500. Customer service is bad. Before COVID , the service is totally different , I used to get my stuff in nice wrapped paper inside a Boss box in a Boss bag , even receipt I used to get it in black-envelope.  Last week , I got my stuff like buying grocery. Very basic white bag no boss logo ( like Vons store ). Not wrapped  . Loose receipt , no box nothing  I am paying over $170 for a shirt with this kind of services   , sorry I am going to reconsider the way and from where to start do shopping .  Unfortunately I have to give that shirt as a gift tomorrow Saturday. This is a beautiful store with great selections, not just for men, women too. The service is over the top! All sales people are very friendly and helpful, not pushy at all. Love the real red roses on each table, white vases for women, black vases for men, how delicate! They offer bottle waters for customers, shopping can be so tiring, especially shop for suits. The small lounge areas in men, women and accessories sections are very nice, comfy couch and sofa, magazines, runway shows on TV, makes it much easier to wait for someone to shop around, especially if you are the impatient type like me.... Hubby was looking for tuxedo suits for holidays, he is a big fan of Hugo Boss, fortunately he found something there, tried them on, they fit well, but still need some tailoring. His salesman called store's tailor to come in the following week to do the measuring. The tailor was very nice and professional. It took quite some time for them to settle with the measurements and all. I was just walking around to find something nice for myself. Saw a very nice skinny belt, I have been thinking about getting a nice belt for a while, it was exactly what I was looking for. Took them long time to find me the smallest size, at least they had it in stock, phew...hubby bought a white handkerchief for NYE party too, he is all set for holiday parties...I will have to look for a dress for myself when we pick up his tailored suits this week. Ps. The alteration services are limited at the store, just basics, they are free of charge, but the tailor can do everything else outside the store, just ask him for details. read more

My daughter is getting married in a month, so I needed a new suit. The groom got his suit here, so I decided to go with the Boss as well. The selection is huge, and the sizing runs a little larger, so that works for me. I ended up buying my suit at half price online, but took it in for alterations. The tailor is in on Mondays, so I was again lucky to get my measurements made and ready in time for the wedding. The suit fits my body type the best of any I've tried, and will stick with a winner. I highly trust the folks at Hugo Boss, and believe they have a quality product. I prefer coming to this location, as the other stores do not have a scheduled tailor coming in, and others seemed a bit less professional in their workings with the customer. read more

The staff, except a couple of veteran sales individuals, know very little about customer service skills or about their own products. Especially the current management. I have recently purchased a suit at Hugo Boss's website and I needed some tailoring here and there to my liking. Anthony greeted me and asked if I needed any help. He had a lot of patience and answered all my questions.Which was super awesome and kind! I wasn't in a hurry to get the suit back at all but they ended up finished it before the estimated time anyways. He even texted me to let me know that the suit is ready to be picked up. My fiancé & I have been shopping for his wedding ensemble for several months now & have been coming back to this location not only because we love their selection but also the EXCELLENT customer service we continue to receive from George. The first time we walked in was an hour before closing time on a weekday and the lady up front who saw us walk in didn't even acknowledge us. George was in the back folding shirts & came to our rescue. He's very knowledge & has great suggestions we will definitely consider. I've named him my fiancés personal stylist, for the wedding that is. We purchased his suit yesterday & plan to return for alterations & accessories. They have an amazing tie selection. My fiancés line of work is more casual but he's already planning to pick up a couple of more suits. On Saturday April 12th around 5 pm I entered the store with my girlfriend to a lady and gentleman fixing clothes at the store. I proceed to ask about the lace of my shoes that has recently broke and the Hispanic lady immediately refers me to Nordstrom without even stopping what she was doing- OFFENDING. I was shook. She then started questioning whether I bought it at that particular store like I don't even where to buy Hugo Boss in the first place. Pretty much after repeated, mostly one sided enquiries on my behalf, I am ultimately referred to Nordstrom for laces. You would expect that a high end designer store would at least give you a post sales experience and try to ask about the product you bought,when you bought it or at least what design it was- not the case at all!!!! Having shopped at Hugo boss before this particular level of customer experience received was no better than that of the local farmers market. This review is based entirely on service. I came in for a suit and worked with Colin. He was incredible. He guided me in the direction I wanted to go in terms of the look I wanted, and presented me with many selections of shirts and ties to complete the ensemble. He also offered me a beverage while I was trying things on. I ended up really liking what he put together, but I ultimately purchased my suit from Ted Baker, because I liked the jacket style a bit more. However, I had a hard time walking away from Hugo Boss because of the excellent customer service I received. I even told Colin that I preferred the cut of the Ted Baker jacket just a little bit more, and he didn't get pushy or anything. He respectfully said "hey, it's personal preference" and even recommended another store to try before I buy too. I wish I could have given him a sale, because he deserved it. This review is for the HUGO (red) store. I would say this differs from the actual Hugo Boss store in that the clothes offered here are more of a clean and slim, european inspired fit. My boyfriend and I came in because they were having their private sale and he was looking for a new suit! We were greeted by Royce when we came in and he was very helpful in showing us the suits that were part of the private sale. The store is pretty well organized and all the suits are located at the back section of the store. He was very accommodating and brought out quite a few suits that he thought I might like based on our conversation. My boyfriend couldn't decide on which suit he wanted so Royce just let us know to come back in tomorrow and speak with his manager Luis and he would be able to help us complete the process. The next day we came back in and my boyfriend picked out his suit and was measured and fitted for it. They include basic tailoring with your purchase. It was a great experience overall and I'm sure we will be back for more purchases soon! read more

I stopped by here to look for a coat for a second time with my GF. The first time I stopped by was a couple of weeks ago. A d-bag associate thought he could "size me up" and probably thought I couldn't afford their clothes based on what I wore. I had questions and he seemed uninterested in helping me. So we left, hoping to come back to check out the coats again with another associate since some coats did catch my eye. This time around, a tall, older middle eastern -looking man helped me and was super friendly and helpful. Tried on a few coats and I found the coat that I was happy with. I was going to rate it 3 stars overall due to my experience first time around but this middle eastern guy is worth more than 5 stars so it averages out to a 5 star rating. read more

I purchased opera tickets , surprise my wife , to see Plácido Domingo . I definitely need a tuxedo , i didn't want to wear a suit. So I went to Hugo Boss Red Tag. I was greeted by Royce. This young gent had great vision on how this tux should look . My wife was so impressed , she commented that the tux looked as if it was custom tailored for me. We had a wonderful evening. But you know what to pick just from one look, and I fell in love with the piece. I was so satisfied at both the time and effort you and Mike put into helping me make my suit, the perfect three piece suit. I was absolutely astonished by the high values and effort that you guys and your store's staff put into making me look like a very sharp and well-dressed gentleman. I must say that your alterations gentleman is a master as his trade, I was extremely satisfied with my suit and my purchase. Your attentive staff are better with guests than Armani's. They are stuck up and act like if they don't need people in their store and I did not like their tux. But I am guilty of using Armani also. On another occasion, I had a Black Tie event, and I usually don't wear tuxedos, and I did not own one. I tried to go with a purchase with Men's Warehouse and I waited about four weeks for my alterations. When I finally picked up my tuxedo, I was shocked at the garbage that I had been sold and worst how horrible the piece was handled. The lapel was dirty, this 'new suit' looked like someone had vomited and gotten trampled by a pack of wild boars. And all the alterations were horrible that even a ten year old could do better in the alterations department. Being two days prior to my event, and in a crisis, I called your store before closing that same night and spoke with Nishemi, and she pulled out a piece for me along with my measurements and said she would have it ready for me to try on when I came in the next day because the store was about to close. I came early fearing that I would not be able to look like a man that belongs at that event. Mike came in and assisted me and was very knowledgeable and both hospitable to me and my wife just like you were and the rest of your staff . I brought in my other pieces and shirt to go with the tux, and the tuxedo that was kept aside for me. And it was once again perfect. It was so unbelievable at the end and I could not believe how hard the alterations gentleman worked hard to make sure my piece was done in time. When I tried put on my outfit, I felt like royalty because of the way I was treated by all your store's staff with you in the lead, and looking like James Bond. I was wearing Hugo Boss from my socks to my underwear, the only exception was my Omega Watch and my Armani wing tipped shirt and bow tie. But thanks to the hard work and dedication of yourself, Mike and your whole staff. I was pleased Thank you for serving us drinks while we visited the store during our visits, Louis Vuitton and Bloomingdales Louis Vuitton only offers you flat water no matter how much you spend, which is quite a lot when I purchase there. But I put up with them because they are less busy and I get my Bloomingdales points. I am very pleased with the service of Hugo Boss South Cost, and I will return. This is the only Boss store that I go to now. The service is of the highest kind and the knowledge and expertise of all the store's staff. I was appalled by the service I received at a Hugo Boss boutique in Las Vegas at the Venetian. The sales associate did not treat me with the respect and attentiveness of your store and underestimated me because I was dressed casual that day and because I'm still young. This store has some really great men's pieces but I was surprised how many items were just thrown on tables and not put back or away. Seemed quite messy. It is a very busy store. The guy that was helping unfortunately did not seem to quite understand his client because the items that were introduced were way off. I think it is important to somewhat size up the person you are helping and not particularly bring out items that appeal to the employee's taste. Perhaps because shopping on a weekend when a store is busy is not the best time. I actually think this store has some beautiful items and for that it rates a 4 but customer service seems a bit off. I have to give a bad review here because I think its important for buyers to beware. I went in looking for shoes.. and I was greeted.. and assisted.. but not in the Hugo Boss way.. I'll tell you right now, if you are not feeling over the top welcome. you should just walk out. None the less, I was helped out with a good looking pair of shoes.. I wore them in side the store to see how well they fit and felt as you walk in them.. pretty standard. I then took them boxed home. when I showed my wife on my carpeted living room floor, she did not approve and asked me to return them. I returned them not 3-4 days after, and when you return shoes they look at the bottom of the shoes. They were worn!! the soles looked like they were used for a weekend. So of course they looked at me and blamed me for wearing them. I have a lot of Hugo Boss in my collection and none of it is from here, and i'm glad i returned them. If you happen to be at South Coast walk over to Emporio Armani.. they have nicer clothes and better service. :) FYI.. LOOK FOR GEORGE PARSTCH! Here is our story. The store has good variety of stocks. However, we are asian, and my husband is only 5'5. It was a little bit hard for us to find a perfectly fitted suit for him. I and my husband was here on December 2012 to shop. We walked in and looked around. This was when George came and everthing has changed. He knew right away which color we need for our wedding. We thought at first we could wear any color. But he specifically brought a catalog and showed us black is the most formal color for this special event. He was very patient let us try at least 5 suits. we patiently waited, showed us the pros and cons of each one. And at the end we found the one that looked the best on my husband. However, here is when the magic come. The suit was not a perfect fit. He even measured everything from head to toes for my husband. He draw the line, and told us very details of what we have to do to make it look good. The store has their own alteration, but George did a fanstastic job of showing his suit and how he did it to fit him. He has the same problem with my husband that his weight is fluctuate all the time. So he knew exactly which part of the shower, the waist line that my husband needed to fix. He was so nice and careful to show us a trick in alteration of how to make my husbands look a little bit taller. He amazed us time after time of his service.After measuring and drawing a bunch of lines on the suit to make sure when my husband moving around during the party, or sit up and down we could move freely, he called David. David is a part time alterator at Hugo Boss. But, now he told us that he works full time. The reason I have to mention David because there is a very tricky issue with us. We had to leave the States in just a week for our wedding oversea. I thought there was no way we could make it. But George even came down to the point which he specifically called David, and gave him his words to help us do the alteration as fast as he could. We drove to David house after purchase the suit for alteration. we came to David house for almost every day at 10pm. He just seems as if we worked the whole time. We came inside his working room, and there were a tons of other suits from different company that he works for. He's just amazing. We came, tried, and fixed. We told him everything we wanted it to be. He was very happy and willing to do the best though we knew that he was SUPER BUSY. David did the whole thing in just three days at his house. we were amazed of the service. My husband got so much compliment on his suit. People thought he did order a special customization for it, which we did not. THE COST: suit: $1350 Alteration: $140 Total: $1450 We could not be happier of what we got. Amazing customer service at the Hugo (red) store. We decided to try Hugo boss for my husband's suit. We were greeted and helped right away by Louis. He was very interactive and attentive. He answered all our dumb questions and was very patient with us. Louis is informative and has a good knowledge on how a suit is suppose to fit but at the same time, listened to what my husband wanted. We ended up buying a suit, dress shirt and a pocket square. Was out this weekend, walking shopping the mall looking for a suit, to attend a wedding. After 3 hours of window shopping Boss Hugo Boss was my choice. Not just looking for the right suit, but personal sales rep was just as important to me. Abdullah, was a professional, he took the time and ask personal formal questions, after a short description of my special event. He made his suggestions. I went along with it and it was spot on!. Just what I've imagined. If I had a opinion he was open to it. He created this construction contractor and sculpt a business entrepreneur. He literally spent 2 hours with me personally with no interruption. And that is a compliment to Hugo Boss and staff. They give there undivided attention to YOU. It was more than a just a suit, you can buy any suit in any one of the nearby stores. But the attention, knowledge and design. I ONLY buy from Louis as he knows me well enough to know what I'm going to buy and what I'm not going to buy. He also is great about calling me when something special comes in. Living here in LA and having a busy career, a Louis is what I need. He makes it simple, easy and convient for me.
