I come here a couple times a year but thought I'd leave a review since I TRULY appreciate the service and quality of food here. I came for breakfast with my son, FroFro (the nick-name I gave him when he was little) and my sweet Sorbet. My two angels. We all got pancakes! Well, I got waffles too. I love me some goodies!! I also got a black coffee, good brew. HELL YEA! Our waitress was kind as usual. Not sure if she recognizes me but she works a lot. I'll have to give her a bigger tip next time. She's a sweet pea. Our first time here and won't be the last ! Nicely greeted by the hostess and seated right away. Waiter came to the table quickly and took our drink orders. He had great suggestions. We ordered and he recommended that my wife get the southwestern sauce on the side for her southwestern bowl. Great idea ! That sauce was disgusting! He even said it is pretty expensive per gallon ! So when we walked in it was a mostly quiet atmosphere, no music and no harsh cookware clinking. They did have you seat yourself down which l find very odd because of the pandemic and they don't have a full capacity sign so they either don't get a lot of people or they don't care about spreading, they don't have extra masks. They do have plexiglass walls separating every party There wasn't a lot of people eating when i came In so i can't based on a busy evening, I came in around 7pm The food I gave an image of what the food came as, no touching up nothing, it looks okay. The food I'd give a 3 star because it wasn't bad but it could always be better. They gave us warmed syrup which I liked. The strawberries were a little soggy and i would've loved fresh cold strawberries. The sausage patties were a little hard the egg was good. A decent breakfast for a reasonable price. I had the pecan pancakes which arrived a on regular cold side but were still delicious. The service was pretty slow but in all honesty there seemed to be a shortage of employees and this was not the fault of our server. This guy was working so hard to keep ahead of the Sunday morning crowd. Our server was seating ppl, serving ppl and cleaning tables. He was trying his best and keeping a good attitude about it. New paint and clean. Worst dining experience ever! Three of us ordered meals. We arrived after lunch. We were there almost 3 hours. Workers standing around talking. When we finally received our food it was cold. No one wants a cold meal with hard biscuits and uncooked hash browns. We had to constantly ask for drink refills and even go up and request our bill and a container. We were 3 seniors...but only received 1 discount. I complained to company and managers. This place is basically like a waffle house, the only difference is it sucks. I'm going to say the best time to come is about 1 am, because either you've been drinking or your straving them it will be good. Our food wad cold, service was horrid and the food was not good (the bacon was) the waffles and pancakes came out really cold and our server forgot one. When she was reminded, she went to get it and forgot again. So I told her not to worry about it, she took $2.00 off when the waffles and pancake meal (pancake and meat) is $6.99. Please seat yourself, I did. Waited 15 min for the waitress to even notice I was sitting in her station! And that's because she was bringing over the ticket for the table next to mine. I ordered breakfast (10:15pm). It took 30 min, and the toast I had to ask for it twice. She came over to take my order, leave what I ordered and had to ask for at which time she left me the ticket. I did leave a tip because I'm not a rude person and don't know what she might have been going through. But when a customer is neglected or ignored well that's when I'll never recommend the restaurant to anyone or return for such terrible service. When you order coffee and ask for real milk as creamer they charge you after they give you one little cup that is made for sauce for your shrimp sauce after that they charge you for a full glass when all I wanted was some real milk for my coffee. It's great! (For what it is.) It's a slightly upscale Waffle House. Each time we have been the place is pretty clean and very light, bright and inviting. The food is satisfying and well cooked. We haven't had any issues so I can't figure out why these KY folk aren't accepting it. I am a city girl from Ohio and most recently Nashville who just moved to this little town and was very skeptical about this and any restaurant in Owensboro (based on my series of terrible experiences elsewhere). So far at least, Huddle House has been as advertised- good, cheaply priced food in a clean and friendly environment. Way better than Dee's disgusting diner! read more

This place is about as average as a place can be. It seems clean for a Denys style restaurant. The food portions are small, but are inexpensive. The service was average. First time coming here, and my experience was beyond great. The servers were constantly busy and always checking to see if we needed anything! After we got our food I asked one of the servers if I could speak to the manager. She was more than happy to bring him to me. I shared how impressed I was with him and his whole staff. I wish I could like this place, but I don't. I've tried several times and have been disappointed every time. You would think a place the specializes in breakfast could properly cook an over-easy egg. Cold coffee, slow service (although nice servers), overcooked AND undercooked bacon on the same plate (how do you do that?). First time in a Huddle House today, though I've heard it mentioned for some years now as a competitor to Waffle House or Denny's. It's clean in here, there are plenty of tables, and the waitresses are friendly. Though I came in to get a to go order, it took a few minutes for someone to get to me because some big tables had just walked in. I wasn't in a rush so I understood. The waitress was super sweet when she did come up to me and got my order squared away. She offered a drink while I waited and I appreciated that. The food took a little while but like I said, there were some bigger tables that walked in ahead of me so I understand their food was likely put in first. I opted for the Philly cheesesteak meal as recommended by my parents and it did not disappoint. It was served on Texas toast which is a nice addition, and makes for a filling sammy. Tasted pretty close to the real deal if you ask me. My sweet potato fries were soggy and maybe the cook rushed to get them out but they weren't really edible though my mom loved her onion rings. After reading some of the reviews I was somewhat concerned about eating at this restaurant. It is a huddle house so my expectations were never very high, but I believe they did a good job with service and food. We use to love this place. Now the service is slow. Our waitresse today was Cerea. She is rude, never came back to refill or ask if we needed something. When I told her we would like more to drink she said ok. Gruffly told me to take the kids off kids cups. The two that needed refills shouldn't of had kids cups. We were there an hour before we got our food. People that came in when we did were leaving. People that came in after us were eating. My twin 3 year olds were getting restless the 5 year old kept asking g as everyone around us were served "where's my food?" She would wait on tables near us and not check ours. The 2 ten year olds told me not to leave a tip. I always leave a tip even for bad service. And three of your wait staff know us (not by name) and always get 25%. I was in food service as management for 40 years, I know they depend on tips, but I also know respect goes both ways. Just because you call your customers sweetie doesn't make up for ignoring a table, with one adult and 5 children. My husband and I ate here every weekend since the day you opened. Went in for a late night dinner, waitress was super nice and took our order and brought my drink out fast; then everything went downhill. We had a few different selections so I feel like I got a good taste of the what the menu offered. They sent out a small hamburger patty calling it the "chopped steak" which was covered in "mushroom gravy" ie brown gravy with a few canned mushrooms. To top that off they were out of mashed potato so they sent out a cold potato in foil and forgot the other side alltogether. The waitress also forgot to put our cobb salad in, so I watched the cook tell the waitress to make it herself and go in the back room, she was lost and brought out a side salad. After having her go back to make the actual entree salad that was ordered, we watched the cook get annoyed that he actually had to work and proceeded to not use gloves. He finally sends out a grey piece of chicken breast on a flat plate with wilted lettuce and mushy tomato since "We don't actually have the bowls in the menu photos". Also good luck on getting refills, you would think that since the kitchen is open they would try to be more hygienic and attentive.
