I can keep this simple. Go there to drink but not to eat. Bacon wrapped chicken and the meatloaf were so dry and tasteless. Both meals a HUGE disappointment. It was big bill but not value. Our bartender was our waitress. She was a bit rude and acted like we were an inconvenience. Her bartending skills were superb. What she lacked in personality and ability to serve made up for in heavy pours. I loved the restaurant's decor and atmosphere. It sucked to have such an overall mediocre experience. I had the best experience here recently. I took family out and we had the best service. It was our first time here, but everything was delicious. I order salmon...delicious. Others ordered the pork chop, chicken tenders, and a delicious chicken entree. Everything was amazing. My aunt ordered blackberry cobbler and it came with a hefty scoop of ice cream. The ambiance was great, music played in the background. Our server was very attentive and kind. I cannot wait to return and try a different entree. We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner, expecting a nice evening with family. Instead, my brother-in-law, who has a known nut allergy, suffered a severe reaction while eating the bruschetta. The menu listed pesto but did not specifically identify nuts. His condition became so serious that he lost consciousness, and 911 was called. An ambulance and fire truck arrived, and other diners came over to help. He was evaluated by medical personnel in the ambulance. What was truly shocking was that not one manager, owner, or restaurant representative came out to check on our family or offer any concern during this frightening ordeal. With our family member experiencing a medical emergency, I asked if our food could be held because we didn't know if we could continue eating. It was sitting on the table when I arrived back from ambulance. We were still charged the full $240 bill. Only after I left my name and number with a waiter did the owner contact me. Unfortunately, even that conversation lacked empathy. The response came across as annoyed and focused on blame rather than acknowledging what our family had just experienced. We were later sent a $50 gift card, which hardly addresses the situation. We understand emergencies happen, but basic human compassion should never be optional in the hospitality business. This was more than disappointing service; it was a This situation could have easily been prevented if the menu had clearly identified the dish as containing nuts or warned of a potential nut allergy risk. I love everything about The Miller House. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the service is great. I joined friends for lunch for a retirement celebration. I got the tomato pie with the house salad. Talk about a perfect dish!! I have friends that order this seasonal dish and freeze them just so they can enjoy all year round. The pastry crust was flaky in all the right ways. The baked cheese topping was the chef's kiss. At the end of the meal, they brought out a platter of various desserts to help celebrate. They were as tasty as we'd hoped they would be. My husband had the pork chop with peach balsamic sauce. He barely stopped short of gnawing the bone & licking the plate. I had the crab cakes- perfectly crisp outside while tender inside. The dill remoulade was perfect, not overpowering. Dessert was a treat as well. Extremely disappointed. We went in for our annual Christmas tradition with our family. We booked our Table weeks in advance and selected the night they said was easiest. When we arrived we're seated in the basement bar. I asked if there were any other tables upstairs and they said they were all reserved for parties. The bar is nice but not great for 4 kids under 12. The lighting was dark and the music made it had for our waitress to hear our orders. She was attentive and thought she did a great job. We had to repeat many orders and when we took dessert home found out that they sent the wrong dessert. When I called back they told be to bring the wrong dessert back along with the receipt. When I arrived they did not need the receipt nor collect the other dessert. read more

Awesome spot in Owensboro. It's built in an old.hkuse, so seating is a little limited, but the food is fantastic. Portion sizes are big so it's also a good value. The meatloaf is DELICIOUS, absolute comfort food. Beyond the food, they also have a fantastic bar with a great whiskey selection down in the basement. Well worth stopping in. read more

The Miller house is not only breathtaking but the service and food were all amazing! I was visiting the beautiful city of Owensboro KY for work and we held a work dinner function at the Miller House. Our party reserved the Spirit lounge which is located on the bottom floor of the house. First off, you can't help but take in the beautiful home the restaurant is set in. The pretty white painted house with quaint outdoor space and porch setting is so welcoming. Second was the service, excellent! We were a large group and the team handled us quickly and happily. The service team made the night extra special with their warm welcoming treatment. Third, the food. We had a preset menu with an appetizer dish, a selection of chicken, steak or salmon and dessert. All were amazing. I have to say I've never tried pimento cheese dip before and theirs is heavenly. It was a perfect night of ambiance, friends and good food. So this was my first time there so these are my first impressions and observations. First the old home is beautiful. The location could be great, but the number of homeless and sketch people wondering around is concerning and made me feel like I had to keep my head on a swivel while outside and walking to and from my truck. Next, the hospitality of the staff was great. However I feel that the knowledge of the two young waitresses was a little poor for the product they are serving. Now let's talk food.... So I know they are known for Fried Green Tomatoes, which I have never had because I don't like tomatoes, but hey, my date wanted them so I gave them a try. It was much like I expected and they were ok, but I'm not a far judge since this isn't my thing. Next, my meal. I had meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Nothing to write home about, I like my exes better. Lastly my cocktail. I ordered the MillerHouse Old Fashioned. My favorite drink, and it was without a doubt one of the worst drinks I've ever had. After ordering a second hoping the first one was an accident, I figured it out. They use soda water. I pushed it to the side. I don't know where the bartender learned this method and maybe they just screwed it up, but never again. So overall, I enjoyed the time with my date, but I'd rather go to Texas Roadhouse. Most places I'm willing to give a second chance, but I just won't be doing that again in this instance. read more

We had never been to this little charm that's right in our home town. We got a reservation which was recommended because they stay busy and also because of COVID. Social distancing enforced. We ate down in the Spirits Lounge which had an amazing ambiance. They have over 400 bourbons displayed down there. Exposed brick and dimmed lighting. We ordered the Single Barrel Flight, Fried Green Tomato appetizer, Caesar Salad, and I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu and he got the bourbon glazed Ribeye Steak. We were very impressed with everything. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've had. My boyfriend loved his steak but the only thing he didn't like was the sweetness of the bourbon glaze because he isn't the kind to mix savory with sweet.
