Pretty disappointed in my breakfast. Was craving really good breakfast this morning, so we ordered huddle house on DoorDash, I ordered stuffed hash browns with sausage and sausage gravy, and toast.. it didn't have any gravy whatsoever, no toast, and they melted the cheese directly on my sausage ‍ and the hash browns was not edible. You could not chew them.. pretty sad. read more

Needing to have dinner and feeling lazy; we crawled out of the hotel and tried it out Only mistake I did was call ahead and didn't check my order until I got back to the hotel The server could barely hear or I didn't speak Alabamese as my order was wrong. This is a nice place to eat when you just want a egg or a fast burger but want to sit in a nicer place to eat. It is clean and good Folks work there , I always go here when we come to fort Payne, and if you are in the holiday inn it is in there back door. read more

First off, I'd like to say that I am a regular at Huddle House. I have always had great service and the food is hot and delicious. Today was the exception. I placed an order for sausage gravy and biscuits. As soon as the plate was put in front of me, I could smell that it had a burned odor. I took one bite and the burned taste was too much to overcome. I waved the waitress over and informed her that the bottom of the warming pan must have burned. She did not take away my plate. She went to speak to the cook, who refused to remake my food as he had "just made that batch of gravy" and said he wasn't going to make more. That tells me one of two things. Either he lied and it was old gravy, or, the more likely scenario, he made new gravy and didn't clean the pan, instead dumping new gravy on top of old. This is a HUGE health violation! The waitress offered to have him make me something else. I should have refused but I was still hungry so I asked for a waffle. It was delicious but it wasn't why I came so I left disappointed. My issue isn't that the food didn't taste good. It was the cook's reply and the failure to follow health code that bothers me. read more

Usually their food is good. 40 minutes wait for what was supposed to be a turkey bacon ranch sandwich. Turned out to only have 2 slices of turkey lunch meat with a ton of lettuce and a touch of mayonnaise. What the actual hell. It is supposed to be turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon and ranch. My husband and I visited on Saturday, April 5, 2014. We ordered hash browns all the way add mushrooms. He ordered regular toast with his I ordered Texas toast with mine. A manager got our drinks. We sat for several minutes before our waitress noticed us. When our order was brought to us we had no toast. At first the waitress said that she forgot to write it down then she later said she forgot to enter it into the computer because everything has to be entered individually. My hash browns were stone cold in the middle and when we finally got our toast there was enough butter on it to drown a cow. We probably will not be returning. read more

There was a help wanted sign out front which should have clued us in. Only three other tables being used when we walked in and they looked about done. We were a table of 4. We sat down about 7pm. Two ordered breakfast and two from the "specials till it's gone menu". Side of fruit with one of the special dinners was delivered in about 5 min. 30 min later, 2 breakfasts were mostly delivered (missing waffle). 5 min later we were told they were out of one of the special dinners. I ordered something else. 5 min later were told side item from other dinner was out. We ordered another side. 5 min later were told second special dinner was out and a cold waffle was delivered to table. At this point we said we were good and two of us left hungry. We saw others come in after us and get their food before us. We should have been told immediately that they were out of what we ordered. We didn't have to pay for the side of fruit or my ice tea, but that still didn't make up for lack of dinner. We were in the middle of a 10 hour drive and was looking forward to a good meal. Luckily we always have a snack bag in our truck which fed the two of us that didn't get a dinner. read more

So, I had never visited Huddle House (any location) until the past month, and now I'm wondering why on earth I deprived myself of this deliciousness. I always kind of thought of it as another Waffle House, but it's entirely different. I love WH, but this just doesn't even seem like it's the same kind of restaurant because of how much nicer it is and because of the amount of options they offer. My husband and I have been twice so far--the first time for brunch (we both had delicious biscuits!) and the second time for an early dinner (burgers and patty melts!!!). The first experience was a little off because they had a TON of brand new people still learning the ropes, but the second visit was great. Our waitress (can't remember her name but she was a former Dunkin' Donuts employee) was so sweet and attentive, and she even made my husband a fresh pot of coffee brewed stronger like he likes it! All in all I would happily go here for any meal. There is always something different to try, and it's NOT expensive. read more

Called in my order, the server that took my order, Ebony, was very friendly. I asked her how long it would take to make the food. She told me 10 minutes. I explained it would take me about 30 minutes to pick up the food and to please let the cook know that way the food would still be hot when I got there. Well, the food was cold when I got it. It was a patty melt and tater tots. They gave me literally 5, 1 2 3 4 5 , taters tots. The bread was soggy and the meat could had been cooked a tad longer. The server was great and I tipped her even though it was a To Go order. The cook, however, probably needs to be re trained. read more

The service was horrible! We ordered as a family and they totally forgot my wives order and shorted us toast but brought us stuff we didn't order! The manager made sure everything we ordered was on the ticket after all the problems and offered no restitution! We will not dine here again! ! read more

We went in when they were really busy, so I didn't expect the service to be out of the ordinary, but our server was extremely attentive and our food was done within several minutes. My only complaint is that they had issues with the register computer,so it took a little longer for us to leave. read more

Upon entering the Huddle House, Airport Rd. right next to our hotel, Something Express, we were ASSAULTED with a noise level that was totally unacceptable for any eatery and more appropriate for a nightclub. And that was because the manager was extremely boisterous and overly mouthy loud. The waitress, his niece, was our server and she stated right away that if we wanted a quieter place, this was not it. I was left dismayed and asked, where would that quieter place be, and she shrugged. She later took our order when we were ready, but we were continuously assaulted by his loud mouth. I have never been to a place like this where yelling and acting like a total fool was acceptable for a manager or any employee. Our food came a bit later and the plain toast was not with my order. My father had a waffle that had a mound of butter that looked like a giant scoop of yellow ice cream. It was nearly half a cup of butter. WOW!!! Really? That much butter for a single waffle was overkill. My bacon was horrid. And I LOVE bacon. It tasted foul. Baked bacon that had so little lean it was nearly all fat. WHY? Pigs do make bacon that has meat. And Bacon should always taste great and should be FRIED not BAKED!!! Never again will I visit this place. I do NOT RECOMMEND this Huddle House. When we asked the waitress to ask the overly loud and obnoxious manager to politely be quiet, she seemed to be disturbed, but was extremely polite and very nice towards us, And he did quiet down for a few minutes, but later started to ramp it up again and sing and talk to himself as he made calls and did business in the open area near us instead of an office as most all managers do. He really should find an office, get in it and close the door behind him and shut his loud, obnoxious mouth. This was a terrible experience for a visit to Fort Payne and the Little River Canyon.
