Summary: In 2021 Hubbel installed a $20,000 ductless mini split system in my house. It did not cool the house and leaked repeatedly. They stopped responding, so I just spent over $28,000 to have another company correct their work. Details: the head unit Hubbell installed in our living room leaked repeatedly. We had no AC in our living room for 2 months. After many calls, they moved the unit and repaired the damage. However, our home still reached 80° on a regular basis. They cancelled appointments, stopped responding to my calls and I did not hear from them for another two years. Hubbell also converted my wood-burning fireplaces to gas. They did not install the required interior shut offs, and I had to bring them back to redo that work too. I switched to another HVAC company, even though that meant paying out-of-pocket for work that should have been warrantied. They fixed leaks but that failed to remedy the problem. Per the new HVAC company, the heat pump Hubbell installed was grossly undersized and placed much too close to a wall. The head units were placed poorly and relied on pumps which failed. Hubbell never had required state inspections performed, nor did they inform me about requirements for such inspections. This year, the new company moved the Hubbell heat pump to a new location on my roof and relocated all of the head units. They added another heat pump and two more head units. $50,000 later I have a functioning HVAC system. In 2024 Hubbell sent me a collection letter, via their attorney, seeking payment for the repairs they had done two years prior, to remedy the three separate leaks that they caused. This was the first I ever heard that they believed I owed them money. I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General. Hubbell, via their attorney, acknowledged that they had billed me in error, that I did not owe them any money and that the company was willing to discuss compensating me. I did not follow up, because I did not want any more to do with their lawyer or their offer to "consider some sort of compensation." Nobody from Hubbell ever contacted me about my complaints. I thought I was done with them, but almost two years later, Hubbel sent me another bill for the same work. The timing is ironic because I had just paid the other company to remedy Hubbell's deficient work. I rarely post reviews, but it seems the nightmare with this company will never end. read more

They were wonderful when we installed the minisplits. But a few years later, we had issues. We called several times, were told they would call back the following week and never heard from them. This happened three times. The last call ( #4) I left a message asking if they were still in business. No one returned the call. read more

Hubble did an amazing job of installing a 4 zone Mitsubishi Mini split system in our home~ in a mere 3 days! The workers were friendly, efficient and professional. They were clean, laid tarps to keep down all dirt, they moved our furniture and replaced it exactly where it was. At the end of each day they cleaned and picked up all tools and remnants of their visit. They even put a padded blanket around the ladder so it would mar the roof. As a former contractor, this is the kind of workmanship I would be proud of. Thank you Hubbel, you nailed it! read more

Hubble does not honor their warranty. I had them come for warranteed repair work and was charged over $500. DONOT USE!!!

We did a remodel of our home last year and made the excellent choice of installing a Mitsubishi minisplit system in our master bedroom and main living areas. In the past we needed to build a fire almost every night during the winter to take the chill off our kitchen and dining areas and the air quality in our home suffered as did we. We had previously installed high quality European inserts into our wood burning fireplaces, but when they were opened to replenish wood it resulted in particulate matter in our inside air. I know this as I own a measuring device for particulate matter and did an actual study that showed poor air quality in the areas with the fireplaces, but the master bedroom was ok and located about 75 feet away. With the new system, the air quality remains excellent inside all areas of the house. In addition, our comfort this Summer with all the smoke was incredible. The ability to easily turn on the units in all three areas made living with heat and smoke tolerable. Our install was complicated as the house was built in 1995 and has two foot thick walls with straw bales as the insulation with interior plaster and exterior stucco. The crew of individuals did a remarkable job as the attic space was cramped, hot and full of insulation and the length of the run of pipes was long and overall it turned out great. The system is easy to use and the filters are simple to clean. I can recommend Jon Onstad and Hubbell Electro-Mechanical without reservation. read more

This is the most amazing company. From the quick estimate to finish it has been a pleasure. We installed 7 Mitsubishi air conditioning units in our adobe home without a hitch. The work crew headed by Loren were so professional, courteous and friendly and did an amazing job cleaning up each day. They repaired and painted everything to perfection. I found the price to be quite fair and lower than most others. The owner John is a true gentlemen and a delight to do business with no matter the job. I appreciate the owner driving to Albuquerque to give me information on Mitsubishi units. I really do like my units. The installation team was great. However, I paid half the contracted amount to initiate work, but heard nothing for a month. I called and was told it would be a few more weeks (without even checking to see if my payment had been received). So, I had to email the owner to find out what the plan was. Then the installation appointment was rushed. The roofers had to come back to properly seal the penetrations through the TPO after the installation. It would have been nice to have been told to schedule the roofers ahead of unit installation to decrease the amount of time a temporary seal was in place. After installation I found out my units don't qualify for a rebate. It would have been nice to have had that discussion ahead of my initial payment. Six weeks later, after several phone calls, I still have a hole in my ceiling (not criticizing need for sheet rock removal). read more

Insanely overpriced, they figure out a system that has more labor than necessary because that is where they make money.

Hubbell cares after the sale. We got three bids for mini-splits. All were comparable price-wise, but differed in installation. We chose Hubbell because we liked their installation plan best. Aside from warranty, we had no idea how they would treat us after the sale/installation. Following installation, we had one major issue, one minor one, and one that turned out to be a common result of humidity. In each instance, a technician responded in a timely manner, resolved the issue satisfactorily, and were polite/professional. read more

I contacted this company to install a mini-split AC unit recently. The unit is in and working nicely. The owner came out shortly after my initial contact. He was professional and helpful with evaluation, selection of the unit, and a proposal. The installers were also very knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. The price was fair. Unfortunately, the office staff was rude and disfunctional throughout execution of the contract. For that reason, I am downgrading my review from 5 to 3 stars. read more

Excellent company and even better product. I researched multiple types of heating sources to heat half our house which is about 1500 square feet. It is freezing in the winter and it was a constant struggle to heat with a pellet and wood stove. We would pay so much for propane to heat the space. I wanted something reliable, powerful and efficient. So, I decided on a split unit. I contacted Hubbell Electro-Mechanical to discuss which split unit would be best for our home. The owner was quick to respond and set up a free estimate site visit. He picked a PERFECT unit for our house. We never use the wood/pellet stove. Plus, our propane percentage has not changed for over a month compared to dropping every week. We are so thankful. Our PNM bill is also 30 dollars less. The office staff is also very helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this business and product! read more
