I'm surprised to see that this ophthalmology office had received some low reviews although most of them seemed to be due to the long wait. Initially reading through some of them actually made me rethink if I was at the right place. However I've been taking my dad here for years to treat his glaucoma and cataracts, and he has undergone several surgeries performed by Dr. Huang. His vision has improved tremendously compared to where he was years ago. All of the staff members in the office are friendly and patient, even when dealing with difficult situations. The lady at the front desk is very kind and always calls us ahead of time to remind us of our appointments. She seems to know most of the patients well, and we always feel welcomed when checking in. If you have elderly parents at home, you've likely experienced their stubbornness and impatience when it comes to their health; I am certainly no exception. When my dad was first diagnosed with glaucoma years ago, he was instructed to use eye drops daily. Because he couldn't "feel" the symptoms yet, he didn't think his life was being affected and unfortunately didn't follow the instructions. This is what is so scary about glaucoma - it can cause damage without you realizing it. Then when COVID hit, my dad decided to stop visiting the office entirely. As a result, a few years later, very little of his vision remained and his cataracts had worsened significantly. Seeing the progress he has made now under Dr. Huang's care is truly impressive. The office staff is very rude and impatient. The woman on the phone just straight mat shot me off when I called to make an appointment - sorry, nothing available - and not even make an effort to find a time slot further out for me. I've also check all the other reviews from 1, 3 or even 7 years ago people have already complained about the rudeness of this dr's office, and apparently nothing has improved and nothing has changed. The front desk receptionists are very rude when I arrived and asked a simple question about my appointment. Before arrival, I've called like 5 times to schedule a appointment, and each time I was put on hold for 20 minutes without result. The communication was beyond difficult and I highly do NOT recommend them at all whatsoever. If you've been referred to them, definitely switch to someone else. Just tried to make an appointment today and they wouldn't even let me. I don't even understand because it's just to check my contacts prescription, I just want to order new contacts which in the past has been super fast and easy and for some reason that's too much for them now! First off I understand they are busy around the holidays and I was fine with waiting for an appointment until January or even early February, but they gave me some excuse that they couldn't even let me see the doctor. Part of me wonders if my request was misunderstood?? I'm baffled because have been coming here literally for 10 years (since the last ophthalmologist I saw basically sexually harassed me lol). Took in consideration of the previous reviews and booked an appt at the earliest time possible, 8:30am. Wait time was approx 15 minutes, including the wait in his office. Overall my experience wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. Dr. Huang was nice and addressed my concerns in a timely manner. Luckily nothing was seriously wrong with my eyes so my consult was quick. I was recommended to see a optometrist who knew more about the Ortho K program and my condition. The reason why 1 star is docked off was because of the receptionist staff. Failed on my cataract surgery here. Lens fall into eyeball. I have to see another doctor to do second surgery and works. Per my family doctor, there is more than 50% chance to become blind with my situation. Now is only partial recovery. If I have chance, I will not do surgery here. When I met doctor Huang in the first time, he highly recommend to do surgery even I still can see good. Now surgery failed, I don't see he feel he should take responsible on surgery failure. read more

This review is about the service that I got when I scheduled a vision check. I've always wanted to find an eye doctor close to my house that I can trust, plus I've been having difficulty driving at night even with my glasses on, there is a lot of glare when I see lights. After reading so many good reviews about how Dr. Huang is nice, I was certain that this would be THE doctor to go for! I was wrong... When I arrived the technician checked my eyes, and asked some questions, then told me that I don't really need new lenses because my eyesight is okay, then told me that the doctor would be right with me. (The technician did a good job on what he was supposed to do, by the way, I am only giving 2 stars because of the nice technician) When the doctor came, I was so excited and wanted to ask him all kinds of questions about my eye, but then he didn't even say a word to me! Typed some letters and then left the room! THAT'S IT!?!?!? Then I was charged for $45 for the kind of service that I could have gotten for FREE if I went to an optometry center! Came here for cataract surgery for my mother, because we heard good things about this doctor. Unfortunately, the surgery was a failure and my mother suffered astigmatism in one eye after the surgery, while the other eye had the same poor vision from before. The doctor then offered to charge my mother $2000 extra to fix them, while claiming the surgery was a success and just needs a little bit of touch up. Terrible Doctor, very typical HMO type ! He is not trying provide eye treatment, he is just want to make money and treat people like ATM ! My mom just has tired eye due to high useage of computer. Per his advise, my mom needs 4 surges of eye due to diabetes. My mom is only 90 pounds and vegetarian, there is no way to have diabetes. And Doctor Hung scheuld her for surge in next 10 days. My experience here was great! The place was easy to find with plethora parking spaces. My appointment was early at 11am, I arrived 15 minutes early and got called in right on time. Dr Huang is hands down the best opathalmologist I have ever been to, and I have been to countless dealing with my dry eye syndrome in the past 3 years. Dr Huang is truly caring and sincere, I can ask him as many questions and I want and he would patientiently answer them all to me. (Unlike many stuck up, arrogant doctors..) Wow, shocked at some of the low stars. Yes, Dr Huang is a man of few words, BUT, if you ask him questions, he will answer all of them. The wait varies...but most doctors do have a wait time now a days! Last year my eyes seemed to be really declining rapidly and seemed a little blurry...went to Dr Huang and he did find cataracs and did some minor surgery and replaced both lens. WOW...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I can't even begin to say how happy I am...and I believe my vision is almost 20/20 again. Luv, Dr Huang, he's a wonderful doctor, very knowledgeable, and love his staff, they are all wonderful! He use to take care of my parents eyes also. Dr. Huang is a doctor that doesn't want to spend one extra second with his patients. When I went to his office, immediately I can sense this is a person whose whole focus is "money". He wore Rolex watch, and looked more like a rich businessman than a doctor. In one of my visits with him, he spend less than 1 minutes with me, and hurried to give instructions to his assistant without even looking at me or gave me an explanation of his diagnosis. read more

So I decided to change Optometrists this year and decided to come to Huang. The reason I chose Huang was because of all the rave reviews on Yelp. So let me get to it, here we go: I was attended to by an assistant who did my eye check up to see if my eyesight had changed. He told me that the change so small that I didn't need a new prescription since I was able to see just fine with my current glasses. I was delighted since that would mean I would not have to buy new glasses. I also advised the person that I was allergic to sulfa medication and he wrote this down for the doctor. Having seen all the awards for most compassionate dentist on the walls, I was really looking forward to meeting with Huang. when he came in to check up on me, he barely spoke and was in a rush. He decided to write me a new prescription for the miniscule change which now meant I had to spend a few hundred dollars if I wanted new glasses. He never really conversed with me or asked me any questions. As he was about to finish and walk out, I told him i had a serious issue with dry eyes which I had been suffering for years. He took a quick look and said my eyes were producing enough tears, so no problem. I find this odd since all the other optometrists had diagnosed me otherwise. I showed him all the supplements I was taking just to maintain a comfort level with my dry eyes, he seemed mildly amused and dismissive. He never suggested puncta plugs, supplements nor gave me any advice on how to make it better. He did write me up a prescription for eyedrop solution to decrease inflammation of my eyelids due to dry eyes. After that, he waved and walked out in a rush. Then I took a look at my prescription, and guess what? He had prescribed me Sulfa medicated eye drops. The very thing I was allergic to and if he wasnt in such a rush and had payed any attention to the screen in front of him where it stated that, he wouldve known that. I can't even imagine what wouldve happened to my eyes if I had used eyedrops that wouldve caused an allergic reaction right in my eyes. Very disappointing experience. I couldn't understand why people complain a clinic because their waiting room is not big enough for them to stretch their leg... maybe he thought that was a place for him to get massage...LOL I have been to this clinic for many times and I have also referred many of my relatives, co-workers and friends to this place. Dr. Huang is fantastic. One of the most professional Doctors I have met. His credential alone should speaks volumes about his ethical and professional background. I am surprised by anyone who would give him a bad review. They must be speaking about their own impatience. The staff at the office are gracious and extremely helpful. My experience with my cataract surgery has been great. I can see with this new HD vision lens and it is marvelous, colors are vivid. I have never been treated rudely by his staff and I find it unbelievable that anyone would accuse these people of bad behavior. Dr. Huang is a life saver! My eyes were red and painful to the point where I could barely open one of my eyes. I called to see if the doctor can see me right away, but they were completely booked. I was near tears and desperate and when I tried to tell them again how bad it was, they agreed to see me right away. I was beyond relieved. I took my wife to see the doctor. It's clean and new. There is an show room carry pretty good glass, some magazines, TV, and comfortable chairs. So you won't feel board when waiting. I am giving one star because the receptionist was nice. I had an 11:15 appt. and when I arrived the ugly waiting room was overflowing, and some people were standing. Since I noticed only one doctors name on the door, I was a little concerned that I was in for a long wait. And yes, so I was. Everyone waiting was waiting for Dr Huang and according to the receptionist, it would be a long time before I would be seen. I asked if its always this way and she replied that yes, it is. Really? Have just read so many complaints about a long wait to see Dr. Huang, even with an appointment. Take a book. Play with your iPhone. Do the Times crossword puzzle. Yes, patients usually have a long wait because Morgan Huang takes time with his patients. At least that's my experience, and I've been a patient there for several years. Ask questions, and he takes time to answer and throw in a little education on the subject of what's going on with your vision. The receptionist and other staff members have always been efficient and friendly. One minor hiccup: For my most recent visit, someone in the office called to remind me of my appointment, and her Asian accent was so thick, I had difficulty understanding her. Dr. Huang is extremely nice and knowledge and the staff are nice too. But the eye exam assistant Angela was rude. I need to get daily wear contact prescription instead of two weeks. She told me to go back for a quick check and free of charge which I already paid, they are very detailed and nice. I highly appreciated it. She recommended a Monish to me and told me to go back to see her, but she didn't make an appointment for me before I left. I assumed i didn't need an appointment to see her. Since this office only open once on 3rd Saturday every month. I went back to see her last Saturday. She was mad and rude. She complained to reception "she can't just walk in like that...." in front of me. She would have told me, they had a lots of patients on Saturday. If i can come back to see her another day. I truly appreciated that she asked me to wait for another 20 minutes for a quick check. She was detailed to check my vision even it was supposed for a quick check, at the end Dr.Huang needs to issue the prescription to me. When I saw him and asked him about last time he mentioned my eyes were dry. But I didn't have chance to talk to him after Angela checked my vision. He was extremely busy on Saturday. He ran to another room to see other patient. I was waiting in the room for a while. Angela came in to know why I was still waiting in the room. She told me to use artificial tear drop for eye drop, it's very common and if your eyes are dry can't wear contact. She tried to scare me to leave by billing. I have been wearing contact for more than 25 years. I don't think that is a professional answer for dry eye. Even Dr. Huang would like to double check if I need a prescription or not. Few years ago, Dr. Huang issued a prescription to me for dry eye and Grace gave a $25 off coupon. I don't think she knew that. For overall I do appreciate all the efforts they have done for me. I suggest that Angela needs to have a positive and friendly attitude to treat their clients. read more

The environment I gave him a high 5 star, because right when you walked in this clinic you will felt this place just like a brand new office.
