While the doctors and staff are great the wait time is horrible, maybe they should not over book as much as they do so you can be seen on time read more

Long wait time, insanely packed waiting room. For being a pediatric Opthamologist I would've expected them to do better than have us wait as long as we did with a baby. The appointment itself felt rushed, and the doctor was overstepping and giving blanket opinions regarding things outside of her scope and with zero understanding. Got no answers re the reasons for our actual visit. read more

A sister from our church introduced me to Dr. Kenneth Lu. He's around 50 years old, very experienced, highly skilled, and has a steady, youthful hand. Her husband had surgery with Dr. Lu and was very satisfied. Coincidentally, both his office and the surgery center are in Arcadia, where I live. I had cataract surgery on my left eye on 2/16 and on my right eye yesterday, using an EDOF multifocal intraocular lens (paid out-of-pocket). Dr. Lu truly lived up to his reputation; he was very professional, explained things meticulously, and patiently answered all my questions. Both surgeries went very smoothly and successfully. Furthermore, Dr. Lu personally calls patients on the same day after each surgery to check on their progress. Although there are follow-up appointments the next day, his dedication and willingness to go the extra mile touched and reassured me. Dr. Lu is truly an outstanding doctor, highly trustworthy and recommended. I also want to especially mention the staff at the Doheny eye center were very friendly, professional, and attentive in answering questions. Amazing service! Praise the Lord, my vision is bright again; my eyesight has recovered very well on the first day after surgery. read more

No idea why they made the patients waited so long in the waiting room. We have waited for more than two hours to be seen! Just unbelievable!! Two hours of waiting and only spent like 10 minutes with doctor. UCLA, you could do better! read more

Staff is well trained. Dr Lu is as other reviewers said 5 stars. He is polite and kind. Great work!

Whoever the receptionist was working the desk at around 10 am on May 31 should be fired immediately for her rudeness and incompetence. I called to get the price of a procedure. She wasn't able to tell me if the procedure is covered by insurance or not. I asked what the cash price would be if it wasn't covered by insurance and she put me on hold. She came back and said I have to pay $700 for testing and consultation before they can give me a price and then she hung up in my face. What a scam and a joke. If you're a business offering a service to patients, you should at least be able to quote a price for the service when a patient asks. Is that really an unreasonable request? If you can't quote a price then it seems you are making up the prices. To make you pay $700 before quoting a price is deceiving and fraudulent. read more

Very nice and understanding employees! I couldn't tell you how clean the back offices were because I never got seen. It wasn't till I was waiting over 25 minutes and said something about my wait time. Then waiting again for an update. I get it 15 minutes behind can happen. But after I've been waiting for about 30 minutes then being told there's other patients ahead of me, not cool. If patients have to be on time so should the doctors/Service providers. Didn't bother making another appointment. Seems like they make back to back appointments, therefore this can happen. Nothing against the nice and informative employees. read more

The wait here is long and arduous. I've been tot his location 3x and every single time I had to wait over an hour after initially been looked at. This facility needs to be streamlined. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now to see Dr Brian Francis, a glaucoma specialist. I followed him from USC after the move a couple of years ago, since he was the doctor that originally did my shunt implant I didn't want to go with anyone else. I've been seeing him since 2008 he is a really great doctor, answers all the questions I have. He has even tried to help find different solutions with my eye conditions. All the staff here has always been nice and friendly. read more

Dr. Ken Lu, was amazing! He made my experience better than ever. My eyes are like brand new! I have never met someone with this level of upmost prifessionality and dedication to their profession. My life has been changed for the better, all because of Ken. I was always bound to glasses and now I have no words to describe how grateful I am. Thanks Dr. Ken Lu read more

Dr. Kenneth Lu has been my ophthalmologist for 8 years now and is a fantastic doctor. He has always monitored my eyes very carefully since I have Lupus and need annual exams to ensure the Plaquenil I take does not cause macular degeneration. As i have aged, my sight deteriorated and he referred me within his practice for glasses. When I got tired of those, he did my Lasix surgery in January 2019 and restored my vision to pre-glasses condition. Although the surgery was scary and the 12 hours following were miserable, he made the process easy, affordable, and more than worthwhile. I am so happy with his efforts and would recommend him to anyone. Don't try to shop for a cheap job because you will end up wasting a lot of time, being very unhappy, and/or putting yourself in great danger. Dr. Lu is an outstanding, patient professional and the experience was more than satisfying. read more

Because of one male Chinese retina doctor who's so arrogant and rude, won't even lift up his big lazy head while you're talking to him, I'm giving this facility a flat O. He's so busy typing and catching up on his notes, if you had fallen off your chair and died, he would not have noticed. If for some unfortunate reason I end up seeing him again, I'll take a photo of him, and post on here to show you what I mean - to amuse some of you and warn some of you. read more

This is for the Pasadena office. I waited 2 hours to see the doctor. In the age of COVID the waiting room and hallway outside were overcrowded. Shameful! read more

This place is a rip off. I received a bill of $1160 for an office visit. No matter how good this place is charging $1160 is insane. Definitely will not be coming back nor would I recommend this place. read more

Dr. Lu is a amazing doctor. He is very professional and patiently. My eyes and my uncle's eyes were saved by him. Now me and my uncle feel much better than before. I will suggest anyone who needs help！I hope Dr.Lu can help more people ！ read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This Eye Center overcharges patients - $570 for an eye exam, $735 for 2 quick computer scans / photographs. They billed my insurance $1300, which resulted in a $560 bill to me! The amount is excessive for a routine 1 hour office visit. I have been to multiple eye doctors in the area and have never been charged this much. Don't come here unless you want to burn lots of money. You will have no recourse except to pay whatever amount they want to collect. It's like being scammed! There are many better eye doctors with more reasonable fees out there. read more

The Doheny Eye Center UCLA is a five star clinic to me , not only my two cataracts surgeries were successful by Dr Ken Lu that he cured also my dry eyes. It was fast and easy to get an appointment here; I was able to get a same day appointment and the staff called me quickly to let me know my insurance coverage/copay information. The office has plenty of parking and is clean and not crowded. I was called in quickly without lingering in the waiting room forever. Technician was polite and professional. I met with Dr. Lu, and he was patient and answered my questions and concerns thoroughly. For once, I feel like I didn't waste time going to the doctor's office! read more

I get Botox done here because I'm scared of being botched elsewhere. I trust Dr. Lu wholeheartedly to inject my face. He's not warm and fuzzy but he knows his stuff and gives me the natural just-woke-up-after-the-best-sleep-ever type of refreshed look. Thank you, Dr. Lu! read more

My 81 yr old Dad was referred to Dr. Lu for cataracts. Our 1st appt was on time (waited less than 5 mins)- the girl doing the testing was polite and very comforting to my Dad. Dr. Lu was precise with his recommendations and Yvette, the surgery scheduler took care of us. They have a very organized system! Surgery was yesterday and it was a breeze. 8:30 last night the phone rang and it was Dr. Lu calling to personally check on my Dad. I was impressed to say the least! I highly recommend Dr. Lu for your eye health needs. read more

Dr. Chopra did my glaucoma surgery and he is THE BOMB! He is friendly, considerate and willing to go the extra mile. My eye pressure is now just where it should be and boy was it very high to start! Dr Chopra is up on all the newest research and procedures.  He is willing to work with you if you are the eye squeamish type (like I was) to the point that you become extremely trusting of him to do what he needs to do for you. Dr. Chopra and his staff are the best! If you need to go thru this journey, THIS IS the Doc you want in your corner. read more

It's hard to find a good ophthalmologist. I had problem with my eye and came across this facility and was referred to see Dr. Kenneth Lu. Although I made an appointment in advance the wait was still over an hour long. When Dr. Lu came in he didn't tell me much about my vision. All he does was type the prescription on the screen and didn't even bother to ask me if I have any questions. When I tried asking him questions he seems to be annoyed by it and doesn't acknowledge any of my questions. He brushed it off and was in a hurry to rush me out the door. He's an eye doctor and should make his patients feel comfortable and at ease, but instead I felt like I wasn't getting the service I paid for. It felt like I just came in for him to prescribe me the meds and that was it. Patients have the right to ask questions and his response was very short like he doesn't know the answer to it. I question his credential and credibility of taking care of his patients. How can you trust someone like that to handle serious problems. If you have serious issue with your eye I highly recommend you go elsewhere or pick a doctor whom you can trust. He lost my business and I won't come back to this facility again. read more

i have nothing to say... doheny eye center is not what i expected. i am a positive person and have good intentions, but this is my own opinion: i had an injeccion in my eye, with a doheny specialist and i did not like that all. i have reasons to say this, because i already experience with other retina specialist three times, and never had that much tears, sourness, swollen my eye lids, redness, and floaters. the worst thing is that when i call to talk with the doctor never had a chance to ask him my questions. i have dificult days. seems like me as a patient i am always wrong. i am not. we as patients deserved also privacy. sounds good ''ucla'' maybe but i will never go back there. maybe my doctor is been very succsesful good for him... not for me.this is my last review read more

The entire staff at Doheny Eye Center is patient and friendly. Dr. Chopra did my glaucoma surgery and he and the staff took excellent care of me. My eye pressure is now just where it should be. I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes about 3 weeks apart. My doctor is Dr. Chopra - I could not ask for a better, kinder, competent doctor. The surgeries were so successful that I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes and only use reading glasses after wearing glasses for about 55 years - what a wonderful change. The office staff in the Arcadia office are great. read more
