The waitress said no problem, just give me a minute. She had us seated in just a few minutes. Five stars for just that. Our party ordered the Meat Sauce Spaghetti, Chicken Marsala, Lasagna and The Ravioli. Fresh hot bread with the house dipping sauce was brought to the table just prior to the salads. The bread was fresh and delicious. The salad dressing is made in house and was amazing. The entrees were huge and didn't disappoint. Everything was so fresh and made with love and respect. We were looking for an Italian meal and we left throughly pleased. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood. Parking is not the best, but the restaurant has almost a family style appeal. As you enter, there is a bar area with several tables and on toward the restaurant is a drop down area which is another dining area. There is also an outdoor area, but not sure when it would be used. All in all, I would highly recommend. Great Service, Great Food and Memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks Again!!!

The quality, flavor, and freshness were outstanding. Just a heads-up--this place gets busy, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. A special shoutout to our server, Anthony. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service that made our experience even better. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Cooperstown!

Our server was Jay and he was very accommodating. Once he found out it was our Dad's birthday, he asked his name and each time he came to the table to check on us (which was often), he made sure to make a big deal out of our Dad's special day. Let's get to the food. We had calamari as a starter - cooked perfectly but a little over-seasoned. Still good. The house salad sweet red pepper vinaigrette was SO good I'm going to try to recreate it at home. Caesar salads were also good. My husband and I ordered the Duck Cassis and it was excellent. The broccoli and zucchini that were served with the duck were underwhelming (zero seasoning) but the mashed potatoes were delicious. My Dad ordered the filet/shrimp special and really enjoyed it. Everyone loved their meals. Chicken parm with vodka sauce, Haddock Francais, Roman Caesar salad, Veal Sorrentino, and a couple of pasta dishes. One with gluten free pasta that was really enjoyed. We also ordered the house Tuscan - Montepulciano, the house white, and some cocktails that were all very good. We were too full to order dessert but Jay brought out a chocolate mousse with a candle and we all sang happy birthday to Dad. Overall, very impressive meal. It's a hike from where we live, but next time we're visiting our family in the area, we'll definitely make the trip back.

Mind you this is 4:30 on a Saturday, during the off season, with only a couple full tables in the main dining area. When we told him we didn't have one, he told us to "hold on" and then walked away without saying anything else, not even a smile. This gentleman and I use that word loosely, proceeds to walk past us a couple times, angry body language, zero eye contact, no attempt of making our family feel welcome. My oldest daughter asked me if we had done something wrong. We left without eating. My wife and I have worked restaurants and food service for a combined 50 years. Never, in any restaurant that we have visited or worked in, have we witnessed customers being treated so rudely as if they didnt want our business. This is the hospitality business, apparently this place has forgotten that. If you are looking for a restaurant to bring your family to, I would avoid this place at all cost.

Food 3/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 4/5 I went into Sloan's as part of a business trip - and I certainly wanted to splurge with my plus one. The atmosphere looked promising - rustic, simple - all the signs of a good, comforting restaurant. I took one look at the menu and something truly stood out - a 3 pound tomahawk steak. Perfect for sharing with a friend or two! When the steak came out, I was in shock. I have never seen that much meat on a single platter, let alone a single tomahawk - it was truly a big steak. The steak itself was done nicely - I have no complaints. It's meat, grilled - and to the doneness I expected. My problem was the sides, which honestly could have been a bit better. The potato didn't really come with much more than a slice of melted cheese and bacon (would have liked chives or sour cream, or even a noticeable amount of butter), and the onion rings were fairly lackluster. The "seasonal vegetables" that came with the steak were also a very modest portion of... carrots. Just carrots with a sweet glaze. Not necessarily bad carrots (maybe slightly underdone), but I expected... at least one other vegetable. I think some more variety to the veggies (plus just more to eat alongside this monstrous steak) would have made this much more of an enjoyable experience. I definitely walked out that night feeling full, but not truly satisfied. My partner-in-crime and I did finish almost the entire steak, after all. Next time, maybe I order less - but I'm still going to be wary of the overall quality of the food coming out of the kitchen.
