Who doesn't like a cool spot to hang! The name implies a farmers market, which I'm assuming typically takes place on warm summer days. Instead what we found was a brew hall, which was exactly what we were looking for. Back home our fave place was a 20+ tap house with lots of selection...I love that this has a good selection of craft beers (which is what we go for) as well as a few standard staples, all in an effort to get folks to try something out of the usual Natty or Michelob. I wish they had a broader selection of craft beers in can but I'll take what I can get. read more

Love this place for an evening or afternoon on the patio. We enjoyed their snacks and food from the truck outside (crawfish queso, y'all!) The food was great. The picnic tables were nice for a bit, but I do wish there was more variety of seating options outside. I also felt like the beer selection could've been bigger. Came for a gig that my brother was playing on a Friday night. Very small town feel, but very welcoming. Crowd was super nice and loved the music. This place has both, but they aren't sure if they will be open on New Year's eve or not. My wife and I came from Friendswood, TX to Brenham for the weekend and found HSF just a short walk from our Airbnb. We enjoyed several different craft beers. They also have wine, a few frozen concoctions and canned/bottled options. Food was provided by a local food truck, otherwise BYOF. It was Friday night with live music. You'll love the vibe at Home Sweet Farm, which is definitely laid back. A great place to while away the time and have a beer or a glass of wine. They also offer a cranberry mead, which is exceptional. The staff at HSF are friendly and there's live music on their outside stage nearly every evening. Home Sweet Farm is a "hidden gem" in downtown Brenham and totally worth visiting if you are looking for somewhere to hang out with a companion or friends that unpretentious and fun. For those who are aficionado's cigars Home Sweet Farm has a nice selection in their display case at the counter. If you're hungry they have a food truck parked out front every evening with a delectable array of cuisine at reasonable prices. Next time I am in Brenham I will definitely be back. read more

I have now visited three times, and I will be back. They have an excellent selection of local beer of tap and since my first visit they augmented their selection of their bottled beers for purchase. I love that they have local produce, especially meat and eggs for those that indulge. They have an excellent cheese selection. I loved seeing California cheeses from Humbolt and Sonoma counties. Their cheese and charcuterie plate is pricey at $18, but the first time the owner made it for me he included fresh veggies and eliminated the olives, which was great. I probably would even just feel better if the price were listed. The daughter of the owners is very sweet, but still learning her trade. It seems like this also a community gathering place, which seems like the perfect place to support. The only things keeping this from five stars is the undocumented cost of the the cheese plate and the lack of acknowledgement when I came back to pay a bill that they could not charge me for initially. If you can get 50% off your second pint for a help check in you would think something similar would be the case for doing the right thing. Not earned, but warranted... read more

My boyfriend and I met up in Brenham last weekend to do some adventuring and spend quality time since right now we don't get to see each other nearly as often as we would like. After dinner we walked around downtown looking at all of the lights and little shops and decided that a drink or two was necessary. We walked up on this little gem (which had a food truck parked outside) and I instantly felt at home the moment I walked in the door. It had a warm, country, rustic vibe to it and the folks who worked behind the counter were attentive and friendly. It had a decent drink selection and the back patio is great and there are huge beautiful trees, picnic benches, and heaters spread out all around it. Lucky for us there was a 50th birthday party going on inside and so it was full of cheerful, happy people and live music. I'll definitely pay it another visit if I find myself back in Brenham. read more

On the way home from Burton, we were looking for a place to grab a cold beer to cool down (like all decent people do on Saturday afternoon) And we found this small gem. 20+ beers on tap! Proseco, red and white wines, small snacks and TX grown and made goodies for sale. The selections also included some Italian-made culinary treats. There's a small at counter and a few tables to sit down and enjoy a draft or two, but if you're in a hurry, they got bottled beers and growlers for your favorite draft for sale too. Being treated with that comforting Southern hospitality, we enjoyed staying at that place for over an hour. Then it was time to go... But we definitely we'll be back! read more

Loved this place! Very cute, friendly staff and some good beer options. We walked out of here spending a good amount of money though including what we bought from the market. Beers are $6 a pop, we ordered a "cheese plate" which wasnt that impressive for the price, but it filled our snack craving ok. We purchased a good assortment of cheese to take home with us, at a little pricier than I would of liked, but for being a small local establishment I guess thats what one should expect. You can order a cheese tray, grab some food from the food truck that is often outside, or bring in outside food. (We did pizzas from Yumm's). Inside is not as loud and is great for having a chat with friends while outside is usually more crowded and you need to get cozy on the picnic tables. This is hands down the coolest, happiest and most magical place to hang out on any given Friday or Saturday night. We love the free live music every Saturday, the smiling faces behind the bar, and the amazing local micro brews that are offered. It's so great that we can take our kids where they can grab a honey lemonade, swing the light up hula hoops around, play a game of jenga, or just play around in the sand outside. A lot of people say it's an Austin Oasis in the middle of downtown Brenham. read more

Not as inviting as it used to be. Last time I was there they had put up angry signs everywhere. Example: "Know what you want before you approach the counter!" They also closed the bathrooms to customers during a recent festival. I had to close my tab and walk ~3 blocks to use the public restrooms. I was also charged for 3 beers when I only had one. I had to argue with the bartender to correct the bill. I've been here a bunch of times and it seems less and less welcoming each time I go. It's a shame because it's such a cute place and they really do have great music. We live nearby and this used to be our day trip go-to. I'll probably skip it next time. read more
