We got an estimate, which assured us the full damaged item would be repaired. Upon picking up the car, the car's corner was repaired EXCEPT for the scratch on the lower plastic bumper cover. We were quoted over $800 and told this would repair the damage. Upon picking up the car, was told that to repair that scratch would be over $150 additional. The manager would not stand by his word that all the damage would be repaired for his quoted estimate. Bait and switch.

It wasn't major, and didn't want the claim on my insurance. The estimate was a third of what another body shop not far from A-1 had quoted. Jim had my vehicle for two days, compared to the eight days required by said nearby competitor. Jim was personable, explained what he'd be doing to fix the issue, and provided a very reasonable estimate. Apprehensive at first, because as a consumer, in my mind, I assumed the work would be subpar at that price. But Jim was honest about the work, and the reason it would cost more at other body shops (When you go to him for a repair not covered by insurance, he'll tell you why). The finished work was beautiful....and on time, as promised!. No hidden costs or unexpected delays. My summation: Jim is an honest, professional, and personable businessman. He clearly has pride in his work, and I'd have to say; he's one classy dude! No wonder he's been in business for so long. Thank you Jim.

The hood that I could not open, he opened, adjusted and said it was just fine (another shop said it "could" cost $700 to fix the hood) After spending 15 minutes with us Jim told us not to worry about the basic plastic (we could try to snap it in or just take it off) and that the car was just fine to drive. He has daughters himself and totally understood. THANK YOU JIM. I promise that if we really do need anybody work or have friends that need help we are sending them over to Jim at A-1 Auto Body.
