Without question, Toyota is a superior product as my wife and I have owned a Camry through the…read moreyears. A couple of years ago we purchased a used 2022 Camry from Gettel Toyota, Bradenton, FL, near Bay Shore Gardens. This was our first experience with Gettel. The initial purchase and offerings as explained at that time appeared to be inconsistent with our understanding of services actually offered by Gettel. Specifically, this involved a maintenance and touch up body work policy we purchased at the time of sale. The policy ends at 100,000 miles, or seven years. We have 40,000 mile on the vehicle. We recently sought a meeting for clarification with the General Manager, Rocky Santa Cruz. Mr. Santa Cruz eventually introduced us to EriK Grenesko, the Collision Center Manager. Both Mr. Santa Cruz and Mr. Grenesko were patient listeners, they politely offered clarification where it was needed and they offered sound solutions regarding the Gettel maintenance policy and the incidental touch up for body work. They took the car on a Monday and returned it five days later. We received a vehicle that was immaculately detailed from the pin stripes to the incidental marks that were completely removed. The work was show room quality. The interior was cleaned as well and was certainly outside the scope of the agreement. My wife and I have many years of managerial service in the Services industry. From our experience we want to extend our appreciation for Rocky and Erik's time and their outstanding ability to represent the customers interests and the interests of Gettel in terms of customer satisfaction. You both are a credit to the Gettel organization and the Toyota brand.

Fernanda helped us and she was excellent; knowledgeable about the products and friendly. We test drove three and decided on the Prius limited edition. They had one available with all the right features and colors. We negotiated a bit with the sales manager. Surprisingly he came down quite a bit from the initial price he offered. The entire process took and 4 hours.

This was one of the most dishonest and infuriating dealership experiences I have ever had…read more I placed a deposit on a vehicle and made specific arrangements with the dealership to pick it up on Tuesday. Because the dealership is about 3 hours away, I booked a hotel and also made arrangements to sell my current car at the same time. In other words, I made real plans and incurred real inconvenience based on the dealership's word. Then on Saturday, I got a call from the sales manager telling me I suddenly had to pick up the car by Sunday. When I asked why, the explanation was basically just that it was a "high-demand car." Apparently, in their minds, a deposit and a prior agreement meant absolutely nothing. I explained that I had already made travel arrangements and coordinated the sale of my current car based on the agreed Tuesday pickup date. I was told they would not honor that arrangement. To avoid losing the vehicle, I reluctantly agreed to pick it up on Sunday. Then, about an hour later, I got another call from sales manager Jim, who told me he had spoken to leadership and was able to convince them to hold the vehicle until Tuesday after all. I thanked him, and I also received text confirmation that the vehicle would indeed be held for me until Tuesday. Then on Tuesday, as I was literally leaving to go pick it up, they called me and told me they had sold the car. Let that sink in: they took a deposit, tried to force me to change the pickup date at the last minute, reversed themselves, confirmed in writing that the car would be held, and then sold it anyway. This was not a simple misunderstanding. It was a complete failure of integrity and professionalism. Either this dealership is so badly run that nobody knows what anyone else is doing, or they simply do not care about honoring their commitments. Neither explanation reflects well on them. They wasted my time, disrupted my plans, caused unnecessary stress, and showed that their promises mean nothing, even when a deposit has been placed and written confirmation has been given. If you are considering buying a car from this dealership, especially a high-demand one, be very careful. Based on my experience, a deposit does not protect you, a verbal agreement does not protect you, and even written confirmation does not protect you.
