Driving through on 80 on Sunday and there wasn't a restaurant in sight. Pulled up the Nearbys on Yelp and found the Howe Restaurant. Good food and good service at this little local diner with a big menu. Angelo even kept the place open so we could make it in to have a quick meal. He's a character that knows how you to run a business: with kindness and enthusiasm. Next time I'm driving down 80, I'll be swinging back into this joint. read more

We were traveling from Chicago to NW OHio to visit family and our two toddler boys were overtired and hungry. Usually they're quite well behaved little boys. My husband and I discussed their epic meltdowns and we agreed it was a top three tantrum while eating at Howe's. We had to take turns taking our kids outside to calm them down, it was so bad!!! I am writing this review primarily based on how kind and hospitable the staff were to help us calm our kiddos down so we could grab a couple bites of food. They talked to them, distracted them, had hidden candy to quiet them down, they were working overtime! And the food was very good. I stumbled on this gem while driving from Pittsburgh to Chicago. Came highly recommended by fellow Yelpers, so decided to stop for breakfast. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that stop you. The service was prompt and incredibly friendly. The food was obviously prepared fresh and with care and was delicious. Stopped for dinner while traveling on I-80 due to outstanding reviews, and the desire to patronize a local business rather than a chain or quick stop gas station...Owner personally answered my call and indicated that he would keep kitchen open (they close at 9 PM on weekends) until we arrived....excellent service, specials, quality of food (rib eye, club sandwich, and amazing salad...Best service and food...Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just coffee and a good conversation... read more

We went here for breakfast with our children and brother and sister-in-law from Detroit everyone done an excellent job. Candy had a table all ready for 14 of us. We had a cute little blonde waitress who was so efficient I would give her five stars just for the way she took care of everybody not just at our table but throughout the restaurant we never had to wait for anything he had to make out five separate bills and cater to several small children at our table. This is a pretty simple restaurant... and for a pit stop on the highway it isn't bad. The food was pretty good and affordable though I wouldn't say it's the healthiest place on the planet. Great little place to stop for lunch. Chicken noodle soup was homemade, and quite tasty. Hot open face breaded veal sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy was wonderful. We're out of towners and we came here to give it a try. We went to lannarellis the night before and decided to compare pizzas. We thoroughly enjoyed the garden pizza with garlic (add on). The pizza is definitely in my top 5 favorite ever! The owner was friendly and my boyfriend was wearing an Illinois sweatshirt and he asked where we were from. The owner previously owned restaurants in Chicago and knew the suburb we're from. The hospitality was amazing and if we ever come back we'll stop by forsure! I also ordered a chocolate milkshake. This is our 4th time in the area for some RV repair/maintenance. We ran across this diner by accident our 1st trip and loved it! We have a hard time not having breakfast for all meals since it's served all day. Eggs, skillets, omelets, waffles, pancakes , pizza, etc. never been disappointed always delicious and large portions. The icing on the this cake is the staff - very friendly and efficient - and Angelo (the owner) almost always present! Everything is very reasonably priced and the daily specials are worth tring. Great home cooking and huge portions! Had a side of stuffing and it was a whole dinner plate. Soo good! Everyone knows everyone there and as soon as you walk in they treat you like a friend also. This is the place all the locals eat so you know it's good. They also deliver and the phone didn't stop ringing with orders. They were so busy at 5:00 they were telling callers it would be an hour wait! And they were willing to wait. Didn't affect our service dining in though, it was great! read more

Food OK, but owner has attitude when I complained beef liver over cooked. Breakfast is good and prices are fair.

We went at 7:30pm because their website says they close at 8pm. Their doors were locked and the person at the register refused to acknowledge that we were standing outside in the rain. So we never got to try their food. Pleas don't say you're open until 8pm if you're going to lock your doors and not serve people until 8pm. Also, very rude to not even acknowledge that we were there. read more

Nice little mom and pop diner at SR 9 & 120. The owner is a little tough on his staff l, but they all seem to respect and like him. The place is clean and the food is always good and served quickly. The inside is in need of a little updating, but it's not horrible by any stretch of the imagination. read more

This is a great place for a home cooked meal, clean, basic dining atmosphere. The employees were all VERY cheerful, prompt and sincere. We had the pleasure of actually meeting the owner, Angelo, who visited with us while we waited for our food. Everyone in our party of 4 had the pizza (we strongly recommend the 8"). 100% homemade: crust & sauce, cheese directly from Green Bay and literally NO skimping in the toppings. Went to the Howe Restaurant based on Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food at a reasonable price. My wife had a hot roast beef sandwich and gravy and loved it. My meatloaf sandwich was great and a hearty meal. Too full for dessert but had to try a piece of pie so we got one to go and it was a nice snack later. Loved this place and recommend it. Very casual and very good. read more

For being in the middle of nowhere, this is a good place to stop to eat. My husband had the chicken fried steak which was ok and I had the french dip which was tender and pretty good. The salad was fresh and the fries hot. We where did a side of brown gravy to go with the fries which was really delicious. I think that the waitress was new, but the food came out pretty fast even though she was a little scattered. If I were in a more populated area I would probably give it 3 stars but relative to its competition this is a good pick. Owner was a nice guy too. read more

First and last visit. Restaurant was recommended by several people so we thought we'd give it a try. I had the spinach and feta omelette, assuming it would be an actual omelette. What I received was a large mess of scrambled eggs, spinach, little squares of some kind of meat, maybe some cheese mixed in? This had the consistency of a sponge. Raw hash browns. Cold unbuttered toast. My husband had eggs, sausage, and hash browns. All were cold and undercooked. No new food was offered and no discount was offered. At checkout, the man at the desk even had the audacity to ask us to leave a tip. Seriously? May be a hit with locals, but if you want properly cooked food in a clean environment, look elsewhere. read more
