What The Fork? More like What a Find! Stopped in for lunch with my dad during our cross-country road trip and this place was such a lovely surprise. The food was so fresh and flavorful--my salad was crisp and well-balanced, and the wrap was packed with goodness. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Yes, it took a little bit for the food to come out, but the warm, laid-back atmosphere and friendly service made the wait feel totally fine. Our waitress was genuinely kind and attentive, which added to the overall charm of the spot. The ambiance is bright, plant-filled, and full of personality--perfect for a casual yet elevated meal. Nestled in the heart of Indiana this local gem was a fantastic spot to stop for dinner on our road trip. Ambiance and service: from the moment you step inside what the fork exudes a warming and welcoming atmosphere with rustic yet modern decor. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food: some of the most impressive aspects of the food is the dedication to fresh, healthy ingredients. They do specials throughout the week and when we arrived multiple had already sold out but we were able to try their soups of the day which were delightful. Standout dish of the night was the bang bang shrimp and the gyro which I would both recommend. WTF--What the Fork, indeed! This small-town scratch kitchen has officially won me over. American comfort food done right, served up with a side of charm and genuine hospitality. The owners and staff? Absolutely lovely--welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. I had the Brie Chicken, and wow. Rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Pair it with a good drink (they've got those!) and round out your meal with their Key Lime Cheesecake--delectable doesn't even begin to describe it. If you find yourself nearby, don't ask "Where should we eat?"--just say "WTF" and thank me later. read more

I love supporting local small businesses and I love new foods, so when WTF opened, I was so excited! We get so tired of the same old thing over and over so we were ready for new foods to try and a different atmosphere/experience. Here are my experiences with WTF so far: Visit 1 & 2: The Food: We got the WTF sandwich and Breakfast tacos with their breakfast potatoes. The WTF breakfast sandwich is made with a homemade jalapeño bagel and ribeye. I personally wasn't a fan of the homemade jalapeño bagel and wished they offered another kind of bagel for those who don't like or can't have jalapeños. I really liked everything else about it though. My husband tried it and liked it so much that he decided right then that he would be ordering it next time we came in lol. I didn't try it on our 2nd visit here, but the bagel looked a lot better than the one we had the 1st time. The breakfast tacos are my personal favorite. 10/10. They fill you up, taste absolutely amazing, and are probably the best bang for your buck. I literally can't recommend them enough. The only thing I would probably do differently next time is ask for extra sauce on the side. The Service: Visit #1: 5/10. We were there for literally over an hour and 90% of that was us waiting for our waitress, food, and bill. We didn't really understand why considering we watched the wait staff stand up at the counter just laughing and hanging out. If we hadn't known they had only been open for a few months, we would've probably never went back. Visit #2: 8/10 ish. Way better than the 1st time, but still not great. Make sure you block out at least 1 hour if you plan on dining in here. Visit 3: Carryout 8/10. I called ahead and ordered the Ribeye Philly and it was ready by the time I got there. It had so much flavor and the steak was so tender and juicy. It came with au ju, but I didn't think it needed any! In my opinion, the biggest downfall is it costs $12.99 and doesn't come with a side. The sandwich is definitely worth trying tho if you love steak! They just recently got rid of their counter and replaced it with a bar. When I picked up my carryout order, they didn't really have a place for me to sign my receipt, so it was kind of awkward. Hopefully they've found a less cluttered area for people to pay their bill for carry out orders. read more

We had a few really great lunches here so we thought we would try it for dinner. With the dinner specials being dropped daily by a creative chef we picked a day that sounded really good. The food was great, craft cocktails reasonably priced made for a great experience until the bill came. No prices on the board for the entrees and we didn't ask. $46 for 3 scallops with a small dish of pasta and $27 for a grouper sandwich with the piece of fish smaller than a regular (nothing special) hamburger bun served with chips. Always a winning to pay a premium for a great dining experience but these prices just seem too high. We will be back...just maybe not soon. read more

The food was good the coffee, ehhh? But, I think the water in that area of Indiana has a flavor to it. A flavor different from where I'm from. All the coffee I drank on this trip tasted similar. My food was good but my wife's had to be sent back to be warmed up after they brought it out. I'm not big on the naming choice for the restaurant. Good food. REALLY good food. Not a fast place so keep that in mind. Nice staff. Our waitress had the entire room that day, about 20 tables and I asked her why - they had 2 people sick - but despite this load, she handled it all, with grace, cheerfulness and speed. The room was rather loud due to echoing. They have WTF logo items for sale. Menu prices reasonable and normal for the area, fresh ingredients, not packaged or processed food ie safe to eat. All is scratch cooking and chef-made. They offer take-out. Parking outside on the street is easy and available. Friends recommended it and they were right! Double check hours as they're closed 2 days per week (currently Wednesday and Sunday) and close at 3p early in week. The jalapeño poppers are amazing. They are very busy, due to the aforementioned; and really wish they would accept reservations (at least for groups of 6 or more). We got in at 8:20 and they close at 9pm. We were still able to get outstanding food and service all the way through. You can tell they take care of each of their guests with sincere care. Now the food: exceptional. We started with the hot honey chicken flatbread and it was a nice size to share. I had the smoked old fashioned and my wife had the Paloma. Outstanding all the way around. For dinner I had the Thai mango chicken curry and I couldn't stop eating it. My wife had the lemon caper cream swordfish with mashed potatoes and broccolini and she loved it as well. Went for a good meal as I travel to this area every other week. Ordered scallops with mexican corn. Served cool. Scallops tasteless. The side order of soup was good. Good enough that I asked for a side to go for work tomorrow. Even knowing my 33 dollar scallop and corn was not good they removed my to go soup from my husbands to go bag (he had a half of a sandwich) Instead of making a scene I thought it was a decent compromise but not so.
