This small mom and pop's on the side of hill is a great hidden gem. We stopped in after passing the restaurant several times. We were not disappointed with the food or the service. Two breakfasts were $38 with 19% tip. Pricey. Service was good and order was brought fairly quick. Fresh sausage was good but could have had more flavor/spices. Bacon, eggs (scrambled and over easy) were all cooked fine. Shredded potato hash browns were good. OJ was terrible. Really bitter, obviously from concentrate. Never made it to the previous location before the fire... been waiting for years to finally go to this new (to me) location. The experience overall was disappointing. Cute and inviting exterior. Average diner interior - pretty tiny! The service was severely lacking, despite not being busy. I had asked for a cup of decaf coffee. Instead of letting me know they didn't have any made, she brewed a fresh pot and then stood around, leaning on the chairs chatting with regulars. By the time a half hour passed, we were ready to leave and I had no interest in still having the coffee. She never brought our bill or the cinnamon roll we ordered to go, so we had to go to the counter and ask. The scramble was good. The biscuit was extremely crumbly and fell to pieces when touched. This is certainly not a top contender for breakfast places, in my opinion. read more

My mom and I ordered a simple breakfast of over-easy eggs, sausage, and toast. Everything was cooked to perfection! I especially liked my sausage links!! Of course, the coffee was good, too. We had a very nice waitress who checked in on us periodically, and was happy that the restaurant was large enough to accommodate my mom's walker. We'll be back! read more

If I could give this a place a zero star i Would this is awful having plans for somewhere else... well that dosent happend here i sat here over 30 mins just to get a booth plus an another hour and a half just to get my food a muffins is all i orders and i waited a whole hour for a muffi that was cold. A warning, when you order a piece of blueberry pie, be aware they have a "fresh" blueberry pie, which consist of fresh (unbaked) blueberries, in blue food color tinted, tasteless gelatin. The crust is cracker thin, and 1/3rd of the pie consists of a non crust top made with tasteless whipping cream. Their argument was it is fresh blueberry pie. Actually it is more like tasteless gummy worms. On the other hand the actual lunch was very good. Just be wary of the desserts. read more

I'll start by saying I think the strength of the place is their all day breakfast. That said, this was just ok from a dinner point of view. I had so-so coleslaw with slightly too much mayo for me. My boyfriend's potato salad looked more like egg salad and was too sweet. I had the two-piece fried chicken, which was decent, along with obviously instant mashed potatoes and anemic gravy. The portions were small. My boyfriend's pork tenderloin was decent but the smallest I've ever seen for the price. What did look good was our friends omelet with sausage gravy. He said the gravy was nice and peppery and the omelet tasty. It looked good and was big. I think I would try again and do breakfast. It was a cute place with nice people. read more

We chose the Haystack and a cinnamon roll. It was super fast delivery and very yummy. Both were definitely big enough to split. Everything they walked past us with also looked delicious. We've been eating at the Hilltop Restaurant for several years now at least once or twice a month, we love it...BUT---the coffee is so weak! Our only other complaint is that sausage links for breakfast are like those little cocktail weiners---ugh. Wish they would change to a different sausage link more like traditional ones. That being said, eggs are ALWAYS consistent, so is the bacon. Love it that you get four strips when you order two eggs. Hash browns are wonderful, toast is great, too...I can count on a delicious breakfast each and every time, cooked the same way, no matter who is cooking in the kitchen. My sunny side up eggs are always perfectly cooked, unlike some restaurants that may over cook them depending on who is in the kitchen. The staff was friendly but after that not so good for me. I wish they would have a better salad. Iceberg lettuce is not my favorite and I avoid eating. There is no nutritional value in iceberg lettuce. I wish they had a spring mix, kale or spinach. I don't eat meat so there really wasn't much for me to eat here. My friend liked it but I won't be back. I had the broccoli salad only to find out it had bacon in it so I gave it to my friend to eat. My mashed potatoes came with beef gravy which I gave to my friend. The waitress got me another serving of mashed potatoes which was much smaller in size than what it was replaced with. To me the potatoes tasted fake and instant. The food is really nothing to ride home about. My cod dinner with 2 small sides and a small potion of fried cod was $11.29 which I thought was expensive considering I gave most of the food to my friend because it had meat in it. The waitress was nice but I did tell her that I don't eat meat so she should of been aware of this. They need to update there menu telling people what's in there food. Most of my food I gave to my friend as I do not eat meat or eggs. The menu does not say it comes with gravy for the mashed potatoes. The Broccoli salad also does not mention it comes with bacon. You could save money by mentioning this in your menu. read more

Was so happy with the interior of this quaint restaurant. Everything so nice and clean. Not sure if remodeled or newly built but tasteful done. What a great feel-good local restaurant to have come back from the ashes (quite literally). In a new building at a new location, Hilltop is still serving some of the old-time favorites on the menu. Staff was kind, but I will say it still seemed like they were figuring things out with it only being day 3 of being open, so I will give them that. Really small place. Coffee is great. Service was a bit slow but we went on a Sunday morning. Great prices. The of us ate hearty breakfast and bill was $42. They have an egg/potato/cheese bake that looked eonderful. I had biscuits and gravy and it was wonderful. Had eggs and bacon and eggs were done like I like them.
