Fast forward to a couple days prior to the move, I texted and no response. Texted again the next day to try to get confirmation they were going to show up and again no response. Texted from a different phone number pretending to get a quote and what do you know, he texts back. Thank god they actually showed up, albeit 15 minutes late. I will say they were polite and put our stuff where we told them. However, they damaged TWO of our dressers (took an entire corner off both) and didn't reimburse for either of them. Didn't give a discount, just apologized and charged the full price. Each one of the dressers cost $300.

If i dont hear from you by 8:40 I'm moving on to other customers". got that text at 8:32 in the morning. So if you want incredibly aggressive and rude sales people, might be the place for you. My closing date was pushed for three weeks very ambiguously (every other day, the target was…read moremoving). When I finally had a close date, I called the movers I had tentatively booked earlier. They told me they were no longer available until September--after my lease is up. They asked me to hold while they checked if something could be done. Naturally, I started freaking the heck out. To add to the stress, I underwent emergency surgery two weeks earlier, and now could not finish packing my apartment. I searched Google reviews for movers who also offered packing services, and reached out to Pony Express right away. I said that my scheduled movers may not be able to move me anymore, and asked about availability. I received a response from Mike almost immediately, who told me he could absolutely help me out before the end of September, and we made plans to communicate the next day. It turns out that my original mover was able to make a miracle happen and I didn't need to use Pony Express after all, but I was so impressed by Mike's service and help. Just know that Lamanna was prompt, careful, friendly, and super helpful. They are *serious* about being a good crew, and we were lucky to be able to book them. Steve was even good enough to help keep me from having a meltdown about a month before our move! Service was efficient but still very careful to protect our belongings and the safety pf the 5 man crew. Everyone was very professional and our move went off without a hitch. Lamana's knows what they are doing. We packed our personal items, so the crew only had to move the furniture & boxes. They just needed us to direct them as to placement in our new house. In all, the entire process took about 5 hours. We should note my husband is immune compromised and all staff took precautions when it came to pandemic precautions. We are grateful for their professionalism and concern, in this regard. There was a GREAT article about Lamana's in the Albany Times Union on 9/2/20, this is a multigenerational family run business and they deserve the high praise and recognition. I've already passed them on to another friend who will be moving in the near future and to our realtor. I do recommend calling & booking as soon as you have a closing date. we had a perfect experience choosing this location as a landing spot for our three pods. we kept…read morethem here for a month with no issue, then hired the great guys from don's moving in albany to come and load the contents into a truck. the people who work at this facility were always available when we called with questions, and when the movers unloaded the pods, everything was dry and undisturbed. even though we don't live anywhere near this location, it was definitely the best choice for us. i'm so glad to have found them!

Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. For me, and possibly for you, U-Pack made my move as stress-free as possible.
