These guys are amazing! I needed help getting an extremely heavy pool table moved from my garage to a room upstairs. From the onset, Tom was great. He was very communicative about the schedule - even trying to squeeze me in as early as possible. As we zeroed in on a date, he kept me in the loop every step of the way. I didn't need to track him down like I have had to do with movers in the past. When they arrived, they were punctual, courteous, careful, and thorough. Saying they are full service would be an understatement. Tom and his partner did everything possible to protect not only the table being moved, but my home as well. The path was pre-planned and the team was insightful enough to prepare pads and blankets at all the key areas where the item needed to be laid down. I could tell I was watching true pros at work. They know what they are doing! Once the table was laid down in the right spot, Tom even offered to help me get the legs on and set it up, which was totally above and beyond what they were there to do. They even wanted to make sure it was perfectly lined up in the room. I was incredibly impressed by this level of detail and service. Overall, Capital Movers is fast, friendly, efficient, and careful. I was able to schedule a move during the busiest time of year. They arrived on time and moved quickly and efficiently. The two main guys were great but they brought a younger guy (teen?) who was a bit unenthusiastic and not a very hard worker and charged me for three moving men instead of the two I booked - fortunately we were able to come to a decent compromise. There was a tiny bit of damage to two of my old wooden dressers which disappointed me but it's not like they were antiques or anything, and I didn't ask them to take special care of them. These guys were so unbelievably good when it came time to make the long distance move from Brooklyn to Albany. Communication at first was a little hard but Tom actually went above and beyond to move some things around to get us all set up. When the guys came down, it was a week after the big blizzard in NYC, so getting around was a bit rough, but these guys didn't blink. We also probably had about 10-20% more than we thought we did and the guys just kept at it. Seeing them pack the truck was like watching a real life tetris game. After the drive up, they loaded everything into our living room per our request, took a well deserved beer break (it was the least we could offer) and they even gave us some recommendations on where to get some dinner. He called me back very intermittently, and could not give me any feedback regarding the dates I requested, as he had to "look into it."He told me he would call back, and get in touch with me, multiple times, regarding what he had available. I called and left several messages. About 5 days had gone by with no response. This company is very hard to get ahold of. I submitted a quote request phone call on their website which was never answered and was called back 3 days later. I called the guy back to begin the booking process even after I had received other quotes and he said let me call you right back and never did. Called again today and left a message to no response. Was very pleased with this company. They did a short notice (one week) local move of the contents of a three room apartment. Three guys and a truck. The price per hour was competitive and had a minimum charge of three hours. They called the day before (as he had promised) to confirm. They return phone calls in a timely manner, call to confirm details the night before the move, and show up on time. They were also careful with my things and everything got from Point A to Point B safely. They do have a minimum number of hours that they charge for, so be aware of that if you're moving a studio or small 1-bedroom within the same city. We used these guys for a move from Albany to Altamont on the very first snowy day of December. The weather didn't seem to bother them or slow them down. They showed up on time, worked hard, and even though it took two trips to get everything, I felt like they maximized their time and were very careful with our things. We are so thankful we chose Capital Movers for our move from Latham to Clifton Park. I spoke with Tom a few times before hand and he sounded very knowledgeable. We chose to hire the 4-man team because we have some pretty big furniture and figured it would go faster. We kind of had a time limit because of the snow storm that was coming. They worked extremely fast and efficiently. From the moment they arrived they were extremely friendly and professional. They wasted no time and got straight to work. They did a great job with working our large pieces through small spaces. They set everything up wherever we asked and were even willing to move things when I changed my mind. I had already stored lots of stuff in the garage and they happily moved that to areas I wanted and even organized the garage so we could get both our cars in before the snow. I am picky and can be a little difficult if things aren't being done how I would like them- I didn't have a moment of feeling that way while working with them. Overall a good experience. They were so quick which was nice. Was able to move from an apartment to a house in about 3-4 hours. The only complaint was that we requested 3 people and they said day of service " oh I got a 4th guy". Well they were also charging us extra for that 4th guy. That was kinda frustrating.
