these guys were angels in our life when we needed a miracle!!! we hired them to move our things…read morefrom the u-pack pod facility in cohoes to our intended storage facility, albany menands self storage. they did such a great job packing the heavy contents of our three pods into their truck, and were knowledgeable, professional, and good natured. when we arrived at the storage place to unload, we found an empty office, broken elevator, and homeless people partying in the unlocked building. the sun was going down, the truck needed to go back to the facility, and our only plan had suddenly fallen apart. the folks from don's so kindly came to our rescue and stored our belongings overnight at their facility, helping us brainstorm new options. the next day they helped my husband move it all into a massive u-haul we'd rented, and when he paid the invoice, they hadn't charged us any more than their original quote, despite the headache our chaos had surely caused. i am truly so grateful for the kindness and patience they showed us, and of course for the expert job they did with the move itself. highly recommend!!

I think we should've had someone (other than an elderly neighbor) there when they were doing it because my niece went to check on the house and retrieve the keep and sell piles. A full cupboard of very nice wine glasses was gone instead of being in the sell pile. Ditto for the fine china and heirloom flatware. A lot of valuable items were nowhere to be found. I guess when you agree to a 'donate' pile, you are donating the good stuff to the OSM staff to pillage. An item actually showed up on FB Marketplace a few weeks later. I was also told that they would leave the house spotless. It was a mess. My son and two nieces ended up cleaning the place.

Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. For me, and possibly for you, U-Pack made my move as stress-free as possible.
