I would never recommend this moving company. The experience was unprofessional and careless. They didn't bother wrapping my furniture properly--my couch cushions were literally falling off as they carried it and were put into the truck completely unwrapped. The movers also kept complaining about heavy items, which made the whole process feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. They also caused damage and then tried to hide. They broke a leg off my bed, said nothing, and left the broken leg on the floor under the bed as if I wouldn't notice. They also dropped a fragile box down the stairs and later insisted they "checked everything" and nothing was broken, which was simply untrue. Their solution to fixing the bed was even more unacceptable. They sent someone out to put epoxy on a part that had previously been soldered, which didn't work at all. Now I'm left with a damaged bed, a box of shards of glass that was previously worth hundreds and a terrible overall experience. read more

Great movers. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Needed to move. Sales rep came over to the house, scoped it out, gave us a quote. We set up an appointment. The truck and movers showed up on time. Worked hard. Got the job done in the estimated time. Nothing of consequence was damaged. They were careful, efficient, professional and all around nice guys. On moving day another representative came to supervise the move and ensure that everything was catalogued. The movers were careful with my property, also very professional. I have to put one star in order to be able to post this review They do not deserve one star. This move has undoubtedly been one of the most stressful moves of my life I have moved dozens of times having been an Air Force brat and then living all over the world in my lifetime and I've never ever experienced such incompetence and actual meanness for no reason. So far after a dozen phone calls...as they do not return your calls, they still have not been able to track my furniture. It has been 22 days since they picked up my things and they haven't been able to deliver my furniture or even tell me where it is. They only say "maybe it'll be here in a few more days". I fear for the condition it will be in if and when it arrives. read more

Our move was not a good experience. We paid them to pack the pictures on the wall because we wanted to make sure they survived the trip. This did not work out as they broke 3. They also lost parts to the humidifier on the baby grand piano. As we had a $500 deductible, we were out these items. The delivery then arrived 10 days late. Make sure you save all your receipts and get a delay form from them and understand that you will not receive $125 a day. You can only claim items that you need to live in the interim. WE had always used the ideal move in the past - I would advise against it. Do not use them f you have or are moving with hardwood floors. WE had our floors redone prior to moving to our new house, and while there were only a few large scratches to be redone there were many small scratches across the floors. What I saw was the movers sliding the heavy furniture across the floor countless times.Unfortunately , the vp, Todd chose to blame our dogs and our children with SPECIAL NEEDS for the scratches. On the plus side- the guy who came to give us an estimate was nice and the movers were nice too. The bottom line- After fighting this and receiving many rude emails from Todd, it will be taken to small claims court- what a shame and what a waste of everyone's time. when you hire movers - you wouldnt expect this. read more

If I could give them a Zero rating I would. They had my sofa in their Warehouse for almost 3 weeks before delivery. I called them numerous times to ask for a delivery date. No help. Day of delivery they were 20 minutes past their 2 hour delivery window. read more

I used the Ideal Movers on July 1st, 2017 and had a wonderful experience. They showed up on time (9 am) with a full crew of six movers and two big trucks. They didn't just move the furniture, they prepped the hose floors and banisters to protect everything on the move. They also prepped the house we moved into. They hustled along and did not waste any time. With the weight and amount of furniture we had, they did very well. At the end of the day since the movers got done early, they took money off my bill. If I could give a zero star, it would be here. They were over n hr late showing up. Damaged walls and woodwork. Broke a sofa and acted like no big deal when I noticed it was actually bending while they carried it "oh yeah, we can fix that". Never hooked up the adjustable bed which they were supposed to do. Luckily we found the power Pack to it as one of the movers placed it under a sofa cushion which we never would have looked there! Lucky he remembered two days later where it was. No apologies. Nothing. Rude and unprofessional. Only one man was helpful who came the next day to fix some things they forgot to do and repair the sofa. The owner was rude. The moving guys blamed the estimator saying she was just trying to get the sale when she underestimated the time it would take to move things even though she came to the house in advance for a walk thru. They said "that's sales for you!" The estimator also told us they only use experienced movers, yet the one guy was brand new on the job. After breaking the sofa, i overheard the owner ask him"so, did you learn anything today". Um yeah, I learned, don't use this company again! read more

It's so hard to find good movers and I really lucked out when I chose the Ideal Move in the spring of 2011. They sent two guys out on a rainy, cold morning - and even with the hour drive from Queensbury to Albany, they were done by the early afternoon. We bought the guys lunch and enjoyed talking with them. They were very efficient and helpful. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. I thought their pricing was very fair and reasonable. Suggest you look elsewhere Having recently used them the service was excellent during the move. They were on time and very polite and helpful. When it came time to pay the bill the Movers presented us with the final amount and got a good tip. A short time after, they contacted us to tell us we owed more. Be very aware that they will ask for more money after services are performed and paid for, regardless of the bill you pay. An error on the part of the mover resulted in him getting a larger tip and us getting hit for more money by the company. There are a lot of options in the area, check someone else out. We don't recommend them based on their money first, customer second attitude. read more

This company was chosen after receiving a recommendation from a friend. I moved from Albany to South Carolina. They disassembled the frame of my futon couch. It arrived in pieces but the Allied crew in S C could not put it back together because there was no "parts box". It sits in pieces on the floor yet. Also, I unpacked everything that was left and I have the cable to my printer, but no printer, I have the shade of a favorite lamp, but not the lamp AND I have a big box in my garage belonging to someone else (marked with their name). I called the Allied folks in SC--they had no knowledge of the name and referred me to Albany's Ideal Move. I spoke to Chris who was too busy to take my call. I managed to report the mysterious box, but he had no time to hear the rest of the details. He also had no recollection of the name. Took my name and number (that was yesterday morning) and I'm still waiting for a return call. I immediately called American Express to dispute the charge until this gets resolved. read more

The movers, Rock, John, and Joel took special care of every box, every piece of furniture, every garden tool like they were their own possessions. We moved from Albany, NY to Indian Rocks Beach, FL. I was very nervous after reading so many horrible reviews of movers of all sorts, all over the country. We were originally going to use Pods, but after reading that the units aren't even weather sealed, we abandoned that idea. So on to moving companies. Yikes! So many bad experiences. We chose two companies and had their estimators visit the house. We chose Ideal, who was actually quite a bit higher in price, because of the immediate sense of professionalism from Tom who gave us the estimate and lots of other great info on moving since he's been in the business for many years. The day of the move, they were on time, did amazing work, and were friendly and careful. One of the company owners, Todd, worked along with the heavy lifters, and explained everything along the way. The Allied truck arrived the day they said it would and the driver and helper were friendly, efficient and patient, as I decided which items needed to go into the storage unit and which we wanted to take in our SUV since our house wasn't yet ready. Out of the thousands of items we packed and they moved, we had only one glass frame broke (probably I didn't pack it well enough) and a few things were scratched (but not terribly). We are right now using Ideal again for a small amount of stuff we left behind but decided to move since they are so reasonable and dependable. We were overall quite pleased with The Ideal Move. They showed up on time and were very professional and courteous. We didn't have a visual estimate done beforehand, so it was a nice surprise when the move took a lot less time that we were initially told. It was impressive watching them work, particularly the more experienced apparent leader of the group, who was not only speedy but very careful with our things. They were particular about using furniture pads and packing everything securely on the truck. The movers were also were very careful and skilled in maneuvering through narrow halls and doorways. We had a few items that weren't wrapped or packed (such as lamps), and they explained their willingness to take them but were upfront about the policy they couldn't be held responsible if the items were damaged. We took the risk and they arrived perfectly intact. We did find dings in two pieces of furniture that seemed to occur en route, but nothing significant or enough to affect functionality, and nothing that couldn't be fixed with minor efforts. I would use their services again and felt it was well worth the cost to save the headache of moving ourselves. read more

Wayfair.com uses this company as a 3rd party to deliver their orders. I will not use wayfair.com due to my dis satisfaction eith this delivery.. I order flooring on Nov 8, 2017, Wayfair shipped on the 9th,. I kept calling wayfair and they said that a warehouse search needed to done, which takes 3 days... then I was advised i would receive a call from ideal 24 hr with in receiving to product, which they received on 20th. I called them on the 21st they took my name and number and it is the 27th and yet have to receive a call. I called again and the same thing was said let me take your name and number and call you back...i said no I want to know where my shipment is... you have had it a week . Excuse this was a new contract and they need to fix the logistics ... she thrn said deliver was thurs can't give me a time nor if it is actually going to be delivered on Thursday... my dissatisfaction with company is poor as it is with wayfair, I will not be using either company again. read more
