Lamana's knows what they are doing. We packed our personal items, so the crew only had to move the furniture & boxes. They just needed us to direct them as to placement in our new house. In all, the entire process took about 5 hours. We should note my husband is immune compromised and all staff took precautions when it came to pandemic precautions. We are grateful for their professionalism and concern, in this regard. There was a GREAT article about Lamana's in the Albany Times Union on 9/2/20, this is a multigenerational family run business and they deserve the high praise and recognition. I've already passed them on to another friend who will be moving in the near future and to our realtor. I do recommend calling & booking as soon as you have a closing date. There were two pieces which needed disassembly to get down the stairs. It wasn't bad enough that the stairs were narrow and had a low ceiling but also the landlord thought it was wise to paint the stairwell the day before. Moving can be a time fraught with anxieties about the place and furniture you've come to rely on and care for. Their calm diligence was reassuring from the start. At the house there were many additional boxes that had to go to the second floor and they adapted without pause. Their truck was pristine with everything loaded orderly in it's place so as not to be damaged. You knew that someone who cared that much for the tools of their trade would care for yours as well. Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. these guys were angels in our life when we needed a miracle!!! we hired them to move our things…read morefrom the u-pack pod facility in cohoes to our intended storage facility, albany menands self storage. they did such a great job packing the heavy contents of our three pods into their truck, and were knowledgeable, professional, and good natured. when we arrived at the storage place to unload, we found an empty office, broken elevator, and homeless people partying in the unlocked building. the sun was going down, the truck needed to go back to the facility, and our only plan had suddenly fallen apart. the folks from don's so kindly came to our rescue and stored our belongings overnight at their facility, helping us brainstorm new options. the next day they helped my husband move it all into a massive u-haul we'd rented, and when he paid the invoice, they hadn't charged us any more than their original quote, despite the headache our chaos had surely caused. i am truly so grateful for the kindness and patience they showed us, and of course for the expert job they did with the move itself. highly recommend!!

Movers didn't show up the day of the move after getting the permits for no parking, arranging time off of work and family members to help. Don't waste your time on this company, you'll be running around doing it all on your own anyway.

Things started out well when they contacted me to tell me their truck had been in an accident that…read moremorning however they were still going to be able to complete the move that day. First they piled boxes and furniture so high in the new location that I could not move around the rooms or move any thing myself. They charged me to come back the next day and move things around so it was more manageable. Then I started noticing all the damage to several pieces of furniture. My furniture had some surface scratches from my cats and child. However there are now gouges and scrapes on the edges of all my tables and the frame fell off the glass from the bottom door of the barrister bookcase. When I contacted the owner as stated in his contract for damaged furniture, he said he was sorry I felt this way , they did a great job and to send him the court date.
