We used Tom's services twice in a 3 week span. On our first time, we asked Tom & his crew to be at our new home at 4 PM. They showed up at 3:45 and unloaded an entire cargo van worth of stuff in just about 2 hours. Tom and his crew all wore masks and saved us the strain of lugging furniture up 3 flights of stairs. The entire crew was polite and followed direction well when I asked that certain boxes be placed in specific rooms. The second time we used Tom's service was just as great. We fell in love with some furniture at Home Goods in Latham but their delivery services were astronomically overpriced. Tom quoted us a much better number. He picked up our pieces from Home Goods the same day and delivered them to our apartment the next morning. Everything was in excellent condition. Tom kept me updated as to the fact that he had picked up our stuff and as to his ETA to our home. We paid Tom via venmo and I accidentally overpaid Tom by 100 dollars. I texted Tom immediately and let him know about my error. He assured me it would be taken care of, and a partial refund was given to me later that morning. I'm beyond impressed with Tom's punctuality and professionalism. I would absolutely recommend his services to anyone who needed a dependable set of movers in the capital region. read more

Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT HIRE. Tom and his guy moved our storage unit into the house which was great. After the first arrangement, we planned another final move of our things. He claimed he got into some issue in Jersey and needed the money up front which we sent him. The week of the move came and he messaged us that his grandma died and the funeral was the day of our move, but promised to still show up. The move day came and he was no call no show. Myself and my 70 year old mom were left to frantically move furniture and beds into our house because we were expecting company. Its real despicable to scam people in order to make a living. I was very excited to use this company because they had there own moving van. it was a bitter cold weekend with snow expected so I asked would it still be ok to do the move and he said yes. The day came and he said he was not allowed to use the van because of the cold so we postponed to Monday . Monday came with the snow so he then said he had to babysit his kids because his wife/ girlfriend had to go to work. Meanwhile I'm beginning to think I've been scammed so I text that and he calls me. Moving day the two of them did a lot I can't say they didn't I had made stuff but be aware prior to the day he never mentioned that there had to be a certain amount of bags or boxes and I told him that. He made it sound like they moved entitled homes with the 3 hour fee of 400 dollars so We did that . He offered to return and he was a no show that would not return calls. Tom moved me from Saratoga to Mechanicville. Once I got home my television was turned on and had a big smash in it. My step dad contacted Tom and Tom admitted to my step father that he hit the brakes hard in his moving truck and when he did that he broke my 55 inch flat screen tv. Tom told mt step father and myself that he would file a claim with the insurance company and then replace my television that is only a two year old LG. For over a month my step dad and I contacted Tom and he wouldn't respond to us or would say he would meet us soon and never did. He told us that when he got the voucher from the insurance company that he would give it to us so that we could go to best buy and buy another tv. Weeks go by and my step father told him he was going to contact the police, attorney general and get legal representation and not let this go as we are good, moral, hard working people and he is a liar and fraud. Thennyesterday we message Tom and he says he will meet us at the price chopper in Watervaliet and I was going to have the police with us because he is running a dishonest scam and he scares me. Then he says never mind don't drive to Watervaliet from Mechanicville to pick up the voucher I will send you the full amount of moneu now by way of venmo because I have a teenage child who is a gamer. Then seconds later Tom says actually I can only send you by way of venmo $200 and it will be coming from a woman named Amanda. The venmo comes through from then name " Amanda Kleinhans". Tom then says when I get back into town at noon I will send you the rest of your money by way of venmo. I wait until 1:11pm no venmo, and at 3pm still no venmo. I am on the phone with Saratoga county law enforcement and an investigator is calling me right back. i am also contacting the attorney general as I want to see a copy of the voucher , let the attorney general know Tom has now kept the voucher if there even is one and owes me money. Also, when Tom and the men with him moved me they told us the prior rich guy they moved in saratoga who owned a restaurant was garbage and didnt tip them like he said he would if they moved him in a certain amount of time. The sad part is we tipped Tom and the men with him and we have been stolen from by Tom and his illegal operation he is running. If this has happened to you call the police department of the county that Tom moved you too, contact the attorney general's office and contact and attorney. This scam of a "business"'shouldnt be stealing from good hard working people. Tom is vile !!!!! Crooks like Tom should not get away with illegal operations. I also told Tom to stay away from my home and that I don't feel safe and I will ask the judge for a restraining order if I start being harrassed. Crooks like Tom and " company" with no morals, no ethics and who have no conscience will do anything. God bless anyone scammed bu this man. They had a smaller truck, and expected to make two trips. It took them 3 trips to get everything, and he offered to take some outdoor things like our heavy ceramic grill. WARNING!!!!! These guys are no good! They stole items and when confronted denied and blamed on workers. Was promised a refund and haven't heard back since. I even tipped them before I knew anything was missing. So based on your response I am making it up that a container of change ended from the 2nd floor to the basement empty, a watch and a bose speaker both missing? I have a lot of other things to do than go back and forth on whether you or your workers took my stuff we both know you did. Filing a police report gives me no recourse, it's your word against mine. I have no reason to sit on yelp or thumbtack or any other site to bad mouth your business unless something was wrong, which it is. I hired Tom to move me from Rensselaer County to Saratoga County in mid-October because a mutual friend recommended him. The price was reasonable & overall they did a good job however, I had several items with minor damage but a few items were more severely damaged - a glass panel in my curio cabinet was broken, the glass to my patio table was also shattered (& left on the ground of my old home - nobody said a word until I saw it a few days later) & my mom's antique dining room table was also damaged. He claims to be fully insured but I have yet to see any of the replacement glass nor has he sent "his guy" over to take a look at the damage to my mom's dining room table. I have been trying to get this resolved now for 4 months. I have called, left messages, texts & even fb messages... nothing!!! The last contact I had was on October 29th when they claimed to be "checking on the status of the curio cabinet glass". I have reached out several times since then & have never received a reply. I even had the mutual friend try to reach out & he said he didn't even reply to him. If there was a problem, all they had to do was tell me, but to ignore me is unacceptable! I fulfilled my part of the contract by paying $1,000 in full, all I want is Tom to fulfill his end of the contract by making good on the damage he caused.. I am now in the process of turning this over to my attorney to handle. I will get quotes to have both pieces of glass replaced & I will reach out to my guy who did the original refurbishing of the dining room set, to get a quote to have it repaired properly - I wouldn't trust "his guy" to touch this family heirloom!! My attorney will go after all of the money, including any & all legal fees incurred all because they couldn't be honest me. I would've recommended them to anyone & had planned on using them to move the items from my storage room this spring but now, I will never use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone!!! Tom Didn't deliver the service that was agreed upon and still charged me the same. They Didn't complete the move either. I had to make more than one trip with truck and trailer after they left. When asked about getting help to move a heavy freezer that they left behind, Tom said he would be there at a specific time and never showed. All calls and messages have gone unanswered. We used Tom for a quick, simple move in August and wish we just bought pizza and beer for friends for their help. During the move we noticed several things missing, one of which was a sentimental gift of a watch given to my daughter from her late grandmother. We reached out to Tom about our missing items, he seemed genuinely sorry for our loss, even stating he let the employees go. He promised a reimbursement for the cost of the move and we were satisfied with that but that would never replace the sentiment of our property. It is now almost October and we have yet to receive the reimbursement from Tom nor a return phone call. We are taking it as a loss but want to warn others of his shady character and lack of compassion for the property that was stolen from us. Tom's moving and stuff was recommended to be by a friend and had great reviews so I booked them a month in advance for an upcoming move. The day of the move I contacted Tom because the movers were a half hour late. He told me that they were unable to get a truck so they would not be able to be there until later in the day. He said he didn't contact me sooner because he couldn't find my email. Later in the day he sent a text saying "I know it's a hassle but no trucks until tomorrow so I can't make it to u until 9 tomorrow morning." When I tried to call him he texted back saying I needed to call someone named Amanda. I decided to keep their service for the next day since I ha to move that weekend and was out of time to find someone else. The following day the movers were a half hour late and complained about having to work on a weekend, which they wouldn't have had to if they came on Friday as scheduled. The movers themselves were very polite and did the work quickly so once they finally arrived it was a quick process. I was very disappointed though with the scheduling failure and the unprofessional response from Tom. Moving is already a stressful experience and when your movers just don't show up it is really quite disheartening. read more

They did the move and at first I did not judge by the reviews about not getting back when things was broken because he was communicating with me consistently and I respected it. Then it just stopped. He never replaced the my unborn baby and son two 32 inch smart Roku TVs, My son computer desk, and finish fixing my footboard to my bed that was broken. I paid him $1085.00 in full for the move. He blocked my phone number and then when called from my mother phone a girl answered saying he was out of town but did not answer when called from phone. She said was going to have him call but never did. I am in my 8th month of pregnancy which is a high risk pregnany and baby diagnosed with Down Syndrome, why would he do this to me knowing this. I have been stressing over this and in danger of losing my baby and told Tom all of this. This is evil and not right. I just want my things replaced and bed fixed. He has the screws to my bed and they lost the rest of the screws during the move, so can't even attempt to put it together myself. read more

I will not use Tom's Moving and stuff again, nor will I recommend them. They were an hour and a half late, due to truck malfunction. The move went smoothly, while I was there watching, but by the time we got to the storage area, because they were late to start, I i had to leave to go to work and wasn't there for the unloading into the 2 storage units i had rented. I unlocked both units, explained I rented 2 to accommodate all I had, tipped Tom and his 2 workers generously and left. A few days later I went to one of the units only to find my belongings tossed helter skelter to the ceiling. There wasn't one foot of floor space to stand on, and no way to find anything. The unit has to be unloaded and repacked. I texted Tom re my disappointment, and he agreed to meet me there to redistribute items. Monday night I texted to confirm the meeting and got no response, even though I was getting "read" responses. such a shame that with just a bit of cooperation on Tom's part, this would have been a different review.
