Fast forward to a couple days prior to the move, I texted and no response. Texted again the next day to try to get confirmation they were going to show up and again no response. Texted from a different phone number pretending to get a quote and what do you know, he texts back. Thank god they actually showed up, albeit 15 minutes late. I will say they were polite and put our stuff where we told them. However, they damaged TWO of our dressers (took an entire corner off both) and didn't reimburse for either of them. Didn't give a discount, just apologized and charged the full price. Each one of the dressers cost $300.

We personally feel that Lamanna was worth even more than we paid (Important to note that we've moved twice from NYC in the past 5 years, and city prices are very different.) I really thought I'd written this review already, but you know how crazy it can be when you move. I've got specifics about the guys on the crew, but I don't have the notes right now and can't remember, it's just too hectic still. Just know that Lamanna was prompt, careful, friendly, and super helpful. They are *serious* about being a good crew, and we were lucky to be able to book them. Steve was even good enough to help keep me from having a meltdown about a month before our move! I hope to update this later after we've actually settled in better, but honestly, things just keep piling up and I don't know when I'll get to it.

Service was efficient but still very careful to protect our belongings and the safety pf the 5 man crew. Everyone was very professional and our move went off without a hitch. Lamana's knows what they are doing. We packed our personal items, so the crew only had to move the furniture & boxes. They just needed us to direct them as to placement in our new house. In all, the entire process took about 5 hours. We should note my husband is immune compromised and all staff took precautions when it came to pandemic precautions. We are grateful for their professionalism and concern, in this regard. There was a GREAT article about Lamana's in the Albany Times Union on 9/2/20, this is a multigenerational family run business and they deserve the high praise and recognition. I've already passed them on to another friend who will be moving in the near future and to our realtor. I do recommend calling & booking as soon as you have a closing date. We were able to get them within a few days of our closing, but with the good press and so many happy customers, I'd say they're only going to get busier. Great job. Great local business. Can't say enough great things about them.

Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. For me, and possibly for you, U-Pack made my move as stress-free as possible.

Price was extremely competitive. Would recommend to friends, family, and plan to have them help us with our next move. In more detail: I called seven movers in the Albany area. Busy Bee were the only group that called me the next business day (all others were at least 3-5 days, if they called back at all, and most needed a second call before I heard back). We scheduled a time for them to visit our home for a most accurate quote, which they came to on-time and was timely. On the day of the move, there was a team of 8 people, each friendly, professional, and experienced. Their attention to detail was obvious in every step. Our items were packed safely, nothing was damaged, and incredibly there is not one bit of evidence on the walls or doors of our old or new home of the move.

First they piled boxes and furniture so high in the new location that I could not move around the rooms or move any thing myself. My furniture had some surface scratches from my cats and child. They showed up at 3:45 and unloaded an entire cargo van worth of stuff in just about 2 hours. Tom and his crew all wore masks and saved us the strain of lugging furniture up 3 flights of stairs. The entire crew was polite and followed direction well when I asked that certain boxes be placed in specific rooms. The second time we used Tom's service was just as great. We fell in love with some furniture at Home Goods in Latham but their delivery services were astronomically overpriced. Tom quoted us a much better number. He picked up our pieces from Home Goods the same day and delivered them to our apartment the next morning. Everything was in excellent condition. Tom kept me updated as to the fact that he had picked up our stuff and as to his ETA to our home. We paid Tom via venmo and I accidentally overpaid Tom by 100 dollars. I texted Tom immediately and let him know about my error. He assured me it would be taken care of, and a partial refund was given to me later that morning. I'm beyond impressed with Tom's punctuality and professionalism. I would absolutely recommend his services to anyone who needed a dependable set of movers in the capital region.
