Also, worth exploring second opinions about going under general anesthesia. We were told our daughter had to, but she has a heart condition that makes resuscitation efforts null and we wanted to avoid this option if at all possible. I understand Dr. Correa & Associates have probably done this hundreds and hundreds of times before, but our daughter's diagnosis is 1/50,000 and we just didn't want to risk it if it could be avoided. We spoke to her cardiologist and got some suggestions that Dr. Correa agreed to and so we didn't have to do general anesthesia in the hospital, but it took a lot of advocating on our part.

Avoid this dental practice at all costs! Our son was treated there on/off for about 1.5 years, and we constantly had to argue with them (while in the office) to make sure they are not adding extra services (that were not previously discussed). Also, each time they would confirm that we will not pay anything out of pocket. Now after 2 years, I receive a bill, stating insurance did not fully cover some of the fillings. When questioned, their answer was, it was maxed out and just casually apologized for sending the bill two years later. Seriously? Never again.

Incredibly disappointed with this office. Our experience at first was great--happy with the…read moredentist, happy with the techs, happy with their care. Fast forward to my son's last appointment. It was for a cavity. My husband takes him as I could not attend due to pregnancy and the nitrous oxide gas. His appointment was at 10 AM and they take him back (10:30) and start drilling. No x-rays beforehand. Mind you, the last time they took x-rays of this tooth was in August. This appointment was in April, so almost an 8 month difference. Wow! We follow their lead though, because they're the professionals. They are drilling, and after an HOUR of drilling on my son (whose 5 btw), they stop and tell us that he actually doesn't need a cavity, he instead needs a root canal and a crown. My husband called me to relay this information and I immediately said no--this is not what this appointment was for. A crown and a root canal are a huge deal for a 5 year old IMO, and I would want a second opinion. Sure enough the dentist (who was not Dr. Butler, I'm not sure of her name) tells us that they've already been drilling the tooth for an hour so he HAS to do it. We can't just leave with a hole in his tooth. ?!?!?? After 30 minutes of me calling other dentist offices going back and forth trying to get a second opinion, we came to a decision to do the crown and root canal. My husband tells the dentist and I'm on speaker phone. She then says, "Unfortunately it's too late to perform this procedure today, so we'll just give you a temporary filling and you can schedule another appointment." So after ALL of that, my poor child had to go without food for almost 3 hours, get his tooth drilled for an hour, and leave with an ugly looking temporary filling to fill the hole which was not very secure as they told us he would need work to fix it ASAP. Not to mention, we had to pay $150 for absolutely NOTHING. Just drilling and making a hole, which was 100% preventable had they done x-rays before hand instead of going off of multiple month old x-rays. After this experience, we will no longer be attending this office. I called the front desk to cancel the future appointments I made, and guess what? They didn't have them in their schedule. I made it clear to cancel all future appointments because we weren't coming back and the front desk lady couldn't have cared less. Didn't even ask if i wanted to reschedule. This was also the second time they didn't have an appointment down for me. Yikes! Stay far away.

Dr Ghowsi is really good with the kids and explains things well for parents like myself understand. His approach is very preventive, so if it's going to be a problem in the future, he'll explain why treatment needs to be done for that particular situation. For the dentist side of things, Dr Kim is awesome too. She is friendly and makes the kids feel relaxed in her approach. There is the regular pediatric dentist side and then the other side is the orthodontic side in the same building. One stop shop for your kids. When I've referred friends to bring their kids here, they say the cost is very competitive to other places, but the service is much better. Office is super clean, and they always clean after each patient.
