I had some major problems with my teeth and interviewed over 20 dentists, othodontists and periodontists. I am in my 30s and had serious edge to edge contact with my front teeth due to a crossbite that was never fixed as a kid. Each doctor I interviewed had their own opinion. Some told me invisilign (what i wanted to hear), others said i needed my jaw broken and reset (yikes!). Another option was traditional braces for 36 months w/ a 70% success rate. None sounded appealing. I settled on the team headed by Dr. Spath. He works closely with Dr. Shaun Miller (orthodontist) and Dr. Marlene Miller (periodontist). I was comfortable with this group because of their constant focus on new technologies and their experience with adult orthodontic needs. Shortly after I agreed to their treatment program, i had Lingual Braces put on (which go behind the teeth). While they caused discomfort and a slight lisp in the beggining, it was way better than having traditional braces at this point in my life. Dr. Marlene Miller then performed AOO surgery on me (http://www.archwired.c...) and i was out of work for about 3 days. After just under 10 months i had the braces off and my teeth were straight. But, since there was so much previous chipping and erosion, I needed some restorative work. Dr. Spath gave me options based upon pricing for veneers. Obviously the best labs will be the most expensive and so on down the ladder. I chose one of the middle upper options after looking over provided actual results. It took a little over a year for the entire process and i have gotten nothing but compliments about my teeth. No one has said they look like veneers, which was a huge fear of mine. If i would have chosen another path, i would have either wasted money on ineffective invisalign, had my jaw broken and wired shut for months or still be sitting here in kid braces. We love Miller Orthodontics! I've used them for my two oldest children, and now, over a decade later, Dr. Miller and staff are taking care of my youngest daughter. Because we live in Huntington Beach, with so many orthodontists along our 40 minute drive here, today she asked how I found Dr. Miller. Dr. Miller and his staff are the best! By your first visit there, the office staff knows the patient by their first name and is always friendly and energetic upon arrival in the office. Appointments are easy to schedule and the staff makes sure to get you in and out quickly. Dr. Miller and his assistants are always very thorough, gentle and patient with the kids. The office itself is very comfortable with video games, ipads and snacks for patients or other family members to use! My kids almost think its a treat to go to an appt.! Dr. Miller also offers "tokens" at each visit that can be turned in for prizes. The tokens are a great incentive to keep kids motivated about being a good patient and following at home care. Being a patient of Dr.Miller was a good experience. They helped improve my smile by a ton and I couldn't be more thankful. The staff and Dr.Miller work very hard and are pretty darn good at what they do. I was able to get my braces off within the time frame he predicted without delay. Another thing I loved is how efficient everyone working was, even the secretary. Everything was well organized and I was able to plan my next visit easily without a problem. There's an overall friendly vibe in the office and it's a feeling everyone would love. Dr. Miller and the staff in his office are so professional and friendly. I am so happy that we have been lucky enough to have him treat our 8 1/2 year old son for his orthodontic treatment. He has improved so much over the past year and a half and will only get better as his treatment gets to whatever phase he needs. I was very nervous about how the experience would be for my son, but everyone at Dr Miller's office has made it amazing. They are helpful with the schedules, answer any questions we have, and are just so nice.
