The front desk staff, Kelsey and Paige, were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. They made the check-in process easy and made us feel comfortable right away. The x-ray tech was wonderful patient, gentle, and great with kids. And the dentist was superb so caring, professional, and truly gifted at working with children. You can tell this office genuinely specializes in pediatric dentistry. They are loving, calm, and know exactly how to make children feel safe. The people are super friendly and they really like kids (or they are good at acting like it lol). They are gentle to the shy ones (my 2nd kid was nervous at first but has now warmed up to them). Recently took my 2 girls to get their sealants and as always, Dr Ruiz and Daisy were so great with them from beginning to end. My oldest was nervous and squirmy, but they managed to distract her with fun guessing games and made sure she felt at ease. They took their time with her and let her take breaks in between each tooth to make sure she was comfortable. We didn't even need laughing gas because it was over before you know it! My girls always look forward to going here because everyone is so sweet to them, and they especially love picking out a toy at the end. This place has always been great, professional, and clean and that's why it is always booked up, but not overbooked because I never have to wait longer than 5 minutes. I will not take my kids anywhere else even if we move further away because this place is definitely worth the drive! read more

I am very disappointed with this office. My son and daughter is suppose to have their cleaning today at 4pm. The receptionist called this morning asking if we can come in at 320pm. I said we cannot as my kids will still be in practice. She proceeded to ask anytime earlier today because Dr. Ruiz is not feeling good and wants to go home early. I still could not come earlier but was uncomfortable with the amount of pushiness and the fact that the doctor was sick and seeing patients. I asked if we rescheduled would it be soon and she said no it would be months out. This was it for me. There was a prior incident before when I had a conflict and had to change my daughter's appointment but they did not have anything for months out. I wanted to keep my son and daughter together so took her to another practice so she can have her biannual cleaning and got back in schedule for the next time. I am so irritated that this was no fault of my own. I scheduled this months in advance knowing that I cannot cancel or reschedule with this office unless I wanted to wait another several months. But now Dr. Ruiz is sick (which I understand people get sick) but it is unfair that I will have to schedule months down the line. Not even in a reasonable amount of time. It's like I got booted to the end of the line after I had already prepared months in advance and it was not my fault. Needless to say we will be changing providers. read more

We just love OC Children's Dentistry! It blows my mind that my kids LOOK FORWARD to going to the dentist. They have done such a great job of making it a fun, not at all scary experience. The whole staff is wonderful (our hygienist Olive was so friendly this latest visit), they have TVs on the ceiling with fun kids shows, books and toys in the clean waiting room; cool sunglasses to wear during the cleaning, a fun treasure box full of toys for the kids to pick from when they're done. My son had a couple procedures needed and they took great care of him. We'd been to a couple other pediatric dentists before finding this one that we were thrilled with. This is hands down the best place in Southern California to take your kids to the dentist. We've been coming here for a couple of years and have always had beyond fantastic experiences. The receptionist is the sweetest, and remembers us every time. The doctors are kind and patient, the hygienists are gentle and warm. Today my son saw Mari and she said he was the best two year old she's ever worked on. She was really great with him and did a wonderful job. Bella cleaned my daughter's teeth and was also wonderful. When my 8 yo needed a filling and molar caps, he pit him at ease and was able to get all 4 caps plus the fillings done in one session. Every is fabulous really. Dr Ruiz is awesome. We just moved to OC. I took my kids to another pediatric dentist here who claimed my 6 year old had 8 cavities that needed filled. My daughter had zero pain in her mouth which seemed unlikely for 8 cavities so I brought her to Dr Ruiz for a second opinion. Dr Ruiz said only two needed filled and the others were so small that we could monitor them. She said if we are diligent with brushing and flossing we might not have to ever fill them because they are baby teeth and will fall out eventually. I really appreciated the honesty. My daughter had her fillings done today by Dr Ruiz. I was nervous and my daughter was nervous but it went great. Dr Ruiz was so good with her and my daughter did amazing. On the drive home my daughter said, "When I grow up I'm going to be a dentist so I can tell kids that I had cavities when I was little and getting them fixed was easy!" It was super cute. I'm glad it went well and happy we found a great pediatric dentist for my kiddos. read more

My daughter had a very bad experience at another dentist's office that traumatized her. I have suffered the consequences with her taking her to different dentist offices that I get recommended to. We are so happy we decided to take the kids here! Not only is their office super cute, the staff is extremely friendly & patient. My daughter has never done well with the teeth cleaning part but surprisingly she sat through it all by herself without an issue! We were seen right away upon arrival then to a cute brushing station where the kids were given brand new toothbrushes to brush their teeth before their exam. Each room is equipped with a television showing the movie of their choice while they were being examined. Following their exam, Dr. Ruiz gave them a short presentation on cavities aka "sugar bugs" which not only showed them but gave them an understanding of cavities and the affects on them. To end it all, the kids got to pick a prize from the treasure box! I highly recommend this place and Dr. Ruiz. I have taken my two young kids here for the past few years, and am so glad we picked this office when my oldest was a toddler and I was searching for an affordable, great local children's dentistry. Everyone I've ever encountered on the phone or in person here is professional and friendly, the office is modern, super clean and welcoming to children - I wish I had a place like this when I was a kid! Everything is explained in an easy to understand manner, and I have never felt rushed or like any question was silly or "too much." My oldest had a very tough first three appointments (on his part as an anxious 2-3 year old - screaming, thrashing, etc.), but the staff was so reassuring and encouraging. He is now totally fine at appointments! We just had a double appointment the other day for both of my children, and our hygienist (Daisy) was so friendly and gentle with both kids, taking all my kindergarten-aged oldest kid's million questions in stride. I was dreading how my two-year-old would act this time (he had had two appointments at this point, the first appointment was around 18 months old), and he did not fuss even once - I know in large part, it is due to how reassuring and calm Daisy and Dr. Goodman were during the cleaning and examination. My first encounter was with DANIEL when I scheduled my appointment. He was patient and thorough while trying to check if they worked with my insurance. During my daughters first visit he helped with the scheduling of her 2nd appointment. Explained the payment I was going to make. Gave me the worst case scenario and best case scenario! He followed up to make sure my referral was approved and ALWAYS with a pleasant attitude! Second encounter was with MELISSA! She was super sweet, kind, and gentle. She made my daughter feel super comfortable and never once had a bad gesture on her face or showed annoyance at all. My daughter usually cries at least ONCE every dentist visit.
