This review is for the ortho side of this location. Staff here is always friendly and helpful. Scheduling for treatment is usually only on Tuesday, so be mindful of that. Dr Ghowsi is really good with the kids and explains things well for parents like myself understand. His approach is very preventive, so if it's going to be a problem in the future, he'll explain why treatment needs to be done for that particular situation. For the dentist side of things, Dr Kim is awesome too. She is friendly and makes the kids feel relaxed in her approach. There is the regular pediatric dentist side and then the other side is the orthodontic side in the same building. One stop shop for your kids. When I've referred friends to bring their kids here, they say the cost is very competitive to other places, but the service is much better. They need a sound proof glass room for kids that have anxiety like previous ones I've been to. Update on my last review: I would have changed my previous review if this business would have owned the issue and took responsibility for fixing their error. It has been over a month and if I do not call them nothing happens. They have already received their payment from my insurance 2 weeks ago (after I called 2 times to get an update from their billing department). I called again to get my refund and it has been over 10 days that they have submitted the refund but I have not received it. Our family absolutely loves Children's Happy Teeth in Placentia! We found this dentist a little over a year ago and have been so happy with the care. The office is adorable and welcoming for kids. Screens in the exams rooms make it easy to distract during the process. My daughter unfortunately needed cavities filled earlier in the year, they got her in very quick filled them. She was very antsy at the 2nd appointment so Dr Kim recommended we come back every 3 months for a checkup. When we did come back they noticed one of the fillings needed repair, I was able to get scheduled to have it fixed in only 4 days! During one of the cavity fillings my 4 year old said "the dentist is so fun!". Lisa was amazing with her during the procedure and even made her giggle. We've been to three pediatric dental practices, and this is by far the best. The front desk, assistants, dentists, everything was awesome. I am beyond frustrated with this office. Every single visit, I wait at least 40-50 minutes past our appointment time, and it's always the same excuse "we're backed up." No apology, no consideration - just a dismissive attitude from the front desk staff who clearly don't care. Today was the last straw. I politely voiced my frustration, and the receptionist couldn't have been more rude. This happens every time, and I'm done wasting my time at an office that overbooks, under-communicates, and has unprofessional staff. We'll be switching to a new pediatric dentist, somewhere that actually respects people's time and knows how to treat families better. Also the manager really needs to train the front desk staff on basic professionalism and how to speak to patients with respect. read more

I love this dentist for both of my kids. I just took my youngest who is about to be 2 and obviously it was a little difficult but they have tvs in the room to distract kids and great toys for them so it help the process exponentially! My oldest love this place too and they have crayons for the kids in the waiting room and tvs for them to watch also. I take both my kids at the same time and helps me as a mama of 2 so I don't have to do multiple visits. In addition the staff and doctor has wonderful customer service and seem to really care about the kids and their care. Would recommend to anyone to take ur kids. 10/10 read more

I probably should've scheduled my daughter's first dentist appointment a lot earlier considering she had quite a bit of teeth already by age 1-1.5. But I delayed because I was nervous she would have a traumatic experience. Not at Children's Happy Teeth! Yes, she cried. But she got over it quickly! I appreciated the entertainment in every exam room and they asked us which TV shows she liked and put on CocoMelon (her favorite) to put her at ease. Dr. Kim was extremely patient and knowledgeable as she fielded all my anxious parent questions. Not only did they celebrate my daughter's zero cavities with a certificate, but they also let her pick a toy of her choosing which delighted her!
