My son got his braces on today! As soon as we entered, the receptionist checked us in and invited us to take a seat. We've been here a couple times, checking them out before making the commitment to go with them for my son's braces. The office has always looked clean, tidy, and fresh. Our first appointment was to basically gather information. We met with Natalie, who told us what we could expect as far as pricing, payment options, estimated length of time for braces to be on, types of braces they offer, troubleshooting, etc. It was a lot of information and we were still researching options, so we didn't commit right off the bat. Natalie followed up with me via email and telephone a couple of times and she was available to answer follow up questions I had. She was always very receptive, professional, and super nice! I never felt like she was pushy. Back to today... In less than 5 minutes, Lisbeth came out, explained the process, and took my son to the back. After maybe 30 minutes, my boy came out with Lisbeth, who sat down with us. She spent a good 10 to 15 minutes explaining aftercare. She had a tray of props and took her time showing him how to brush, how to floss, how to apply wax when needed, and so much more. Lisbeth was very patient and supportive before, during, and after the 'installation' of his braces. My son said that Dr. Curtis was very gentle and reassuring during the process. He told him that it wouldn't hurt, and he also checked on him, asking how he was doing throughout the process. I'm so glad we went with Dr. Curtis for my boy's braces! So here we go, are y'all ready for this?...stop the press! I had the privilege of walking into Curtis Orthodontics about 21 months ago. From the time my hubby, daughter, and I walked through those doors (and for every appt. I've had since), we were greeted with a warm welcome, smiles , and great energy!! The office is impeccably clean and right there already showed me these individuals take pride in what they do. Trust me when I share that walking into different businesses, meeting (interesting) people + my years of adulting....there are people out there who run businesses and are boring as a doorknob. Not here....every individual in this office, they are AMAZING!!!! Dr. Richard "Monty" Curtis was highly recommended from our dentist. I had this tooth that didn't completely grow out. So when I smiled, it looked as if I was missing a tooth; When in reality, the tooth was there. However, a person can only see it by getting very close to my face with my mouth open.....what the fun fun! ‍ At my consultation, Dr. Richard took his time in explaining how and what he would do to fix that specific tooth + the estimated time it would take. Every patient and their needs are different. For me, I needed braces for that one tooth + it would fix any other minor issues inside my mouth. So the braces "song" (our family word we use instead of the word journey, since there are high & low notes in wearing them) began. The 21 months only solidified + showed me how much professionalism, integrity, care.... we can't forget, love , Curtis Orthodontics showed every patient that walked through their office doors. They truly go ABOVE & BEYOND!!! Jeanine, Rachelle, Natalie, and Jill....these ladies handle the front office like no one's business. From the moment I would check-in with Jeanine, there was barely any wait time....diggin' that! They worked hand in hand in making sure my appts. accommodated my schedule. There were times our daughter , Isabella , would accompany me. Rachelle would take that time in making sure Isabella was occupied during my appts.; For a mama as myself, it showed empathy and thoughtfulness.....I am grateful. These ladies made you feel seen each and every visit. Now for the fabulous dental assistants: Amber, Jasmine, Lisbeth, and Brianna......what can I say, you ladies are beautiful & delightful!!! At every appt., I was asked, "how are things", "how's your week", etc... Each one connected and listened , instead of going straight into what service was going to be provided during my visit. It didn't matter which of the ladies was assisting Dr. Richard during my appt., each one (as I was being prepped) always gave a step-by-step on what was going to happen and made sure I was as comfortable as can be. She has this way of sharing her knowledge with ease, listening to your concern, making you feel comfortable, and handling what needs to get done all in one shot....I mean, she has it going on! I don't understand how Invisalign for a bottom front cross bite of 1 tooth comes out to nearly $6000 with insurance. Tried asking about quotes for braces or retainer instead but they really don't quit upselling or pushing Invisalign on you and said the other options aren't recommended for my bite issue. They did however offer one good tip for my TMJ they recommend I stop chewing gum... which has actually helped with my jaw pain. I was recommended to them by my Yorba Linda Family Dentistry office. I am extremely satisfied with my treatment here! A little background to my story..I was an Invisalign patient for 4 years at my dentist, but for some reason, some of my teeth refused to move, and that's when my dentist recommended Dr. Curtis to me. As an adult, I was hesitant to get wire braces, but when I met with Dr. Curtis, everything he said was music to my ears. He said I'd have to only wear braces for my upper teeth because he understands how frustrating it could be. He was also very empathetic about the concerns I may have as an adult wearing braces. I didn't have any questions for him because he covered everything during his talk! He also said he will make the treatment as fast as possible- my treatment was completed within 6 months! If i would have written this review a year ago i would have given them 5 starts! I came in on a referral from my dentist to get Invisalign and the staff and Dr were so nice but unfortunately i did not have the money for them. Fast forward to last week i finally had the money to start the process so i called and spoke to "not the most customer friendly person" and asked if i could get the pricing i was quoted and I was advised i would need to come in and get new X-rays etc.. and I totally understand and was a million percent willing to make the appointment but then she told me me just to step in the doors it would be $120.00 so i advised that i have dual insurance and she said nope you have to pay it. I stated " I am so sorry to ask but i do not believe i paid that the last time" in which she stated " it was a complimentary consultation". I did not know that as i assumed my insurance had paid for the office visit since i was referred by my dentist. I did try to speak to her about maybe checking my insurances just to see if the office visit would cover the cost of the visit but she seemed uninterested in helping me whatsoever. I said thank you but i cannot afford $120 on top of paying for the Invisalign and she pretty much said ok bye. I am really disappointed that i will have to look for a different Orthodontist as he is very nice and i have heard he is the best around! read more

Found Curtis ortho a few months back after doing extensive research for my child. We started braces back in February and so far her teeth are doing so good. I love how they talked her through everything that was going to happen and what to expect. I also love that they take their time to explain proper hygiene, brushing and how different their mouths can feel. What can I add that others have not already said about this amazing place? For the longest time, I wanted braces to correct issues with my bottom teeth. And when I was younger, my parents could not afford braces for me. As I became an adult, I could not justify spending money on braces when I had/have so many other financial responsibilities, especially with children in the picture. But after years of neglecting myself and my goal of a better smile, I finally decided to move forward with braces. I went to Curtis Orthodontics per a recommendation from my dentist. I trust my dentist completely (Dr. Bae at Cornerstone Dental Care), so if he tells me that Dr. Curtis is amazing...well, then I was going to see Dr. Curtis! And from my very first visit, Curtis Orthodontics was special and treated me well. After my initial consultation and when it was time to choose the type of braces I wanted (Invisalign or Damon System), there was never any pressure to choose one over the other. There was a price difference between the two/three options, but it was my decision with no sales pitch. That is when I knew I made the right decision with this place. It was a calm environment with people who treated me like family from the beginning and not some "customer". Every visit afterwards has been something I look forward to...not only because I wanted to continue moving forward with my treatment, but because I truly enjoy talking to everyone in the office. There have been many laughs during my visits, and I did my best to follow all instructions from Dr. Curtis so that I could move my treatment quicker. So 21 months later, and my braces are off as of this morning (3/3/21)! And believe it or not, the whole experience of wearing braces and elastics and brushing/flossing with them on was not terrible. And anytime I had a question about my braces or I broke/lost a bracket (happened twice), the wonderful staff at the office was there to assist me! And yes, when Dr. Curtis tells you not to eat certain foods for fear of breaking a wire or bracket, please follow his directions. Lol. I am not finished with my treatment yet. I still have to get my retainers and follow-up visits, but the overall experience has been wonderful!
