Found Curtis ortho a few months back after doing extensive research for my child. We started braces back in February and so far her teeth are doing so good. I love how they talked her through everything that was going to happen and what to expect. I also love that they take their time to explain proper hygiene, brushing and how different their mouths can feel. They also call to check on the patient the next day to see how they are doing and that honestly is a plus. I never felt pressured on putting braces on my child during consultation, I felt that the office was very open and honest with me and informed me of what could happen if I wait and the benefits of starting a plan now. What can I add that others have not already said about this amazing place? For the longest time, I wanted braces to correct issues with my bottom teeth. And when I was younger, my parents could not afford braces for me. As I became an adult, I could not justify spending money on braces when I had/have so many other financial responsibilities, especially with children in the picture. But after years of neglecting myself and my goal of a better smile, I finally decided to move forward with braces. I went to Curtis Orthodontics per a recommendation from my dentist. I trust my dentist completely (Dr. Bae at Cornerstone Dental Care), so if he tells me that Dr. Curtis is amazing...well, then I was going to see Dr. Curtis! And from my very first visit, Curtis Orthodontics was special and treated me well. After my initial consultation and when it was time to choose the type of braces I wanted (Invisalign or Damon System), there was never any pressure to choose one over the other. There was a price difference between the two/three options, but it was my decision with no sales pitch. That is when I knew I made the right decision with this place. It was a calm environment with people who treated me like family from the beginning and not some "customer". Every visit afterwards has been something I look forward to...not only because I wanted to continue moving forward with my treatment, but because I truly enjoy talking to everyone in the office. There have been many laughs during my visits, and I did my best to follow all instructions from Dr. Curtis so that I could move my treatment quicker. So 21 months later, and my braces are off as of this morning (3/3/21)! And believe it or not, the whole experience of wearing braces and elastics and brushing/flossing with them on was not terrible. And anytime I had a question about my braces or I broke/lost a bracket (happened twice), the wonderful staff at the office was there to assist me! And yes, when Dr. Curtis tells you not to eat certain foods for fear of breaking a wire or bracket, please follow his directions. Lol. I am not finished with my treatment yet. I still have to get my retainers and follow-up visits, but the overall experience has been wonderful! My dentist highly recommended Dr. Curtis for my Invisalign treatment. I went in for an initial consultation and met with Debbie. She did a great job explaining the entire treatment process with me, then went over some figures and offered some very flexible 0% interest payment plans. I started my treatment about 6 months ago and am so happy with the results. Dr. Curtis and his entire staff are amazing and they truly care about each and every one of their patients. So I just had my final appointment with Dr. Curtis today due to the fact that I'm moving out of the state. I'm truly sad to leave this office since I've made such great progress with Dr. Curtis' expertise with the Damon system. The outcome so far has exceeded my expectations with my teeth as an adult patient. I would like to note that I have had trust issues with past orthos and also have had bad/ineffective treatments along with it in the past (this is my third time with braces as an adult). Dr. Curtis and the staff has gained my full trust to manage my oral/orthodontic health! During appointments he is very detailed and informs you about every next step he's going to make. He also considers your needs/concerns/wants as a patient and tries to accommodate as best as possible. I'm a person that likes to ask a lot of questions and he happily answers them all with attention to detail and best part is, it's all without rushing you and without any frustrations (that's hard to find in Orthodontists). I also want to shout out Debbie, Joelle, and Samantha. They were great and extremely helpful with everything during my treatment here at this office. I had to inform the office that I am moving to Texas and Joelle and Debbie did everything they could to lend a helping hand to make the transition as smooth as possible. They are understanding and want the best for your well-being. As for Samantha, I was lucky to have her work on my teeth a few times and she was so nice and patient, walked me through how to put on my complex rubber bands as I struggled on how to apply them when it was first assigned to me, and also keeps great conversation to keep you comfortable during adjustments! I have failed miserably as a mom when it comes to my daughter's teeth. I have entrusted her to some incompetent and unethical dentist. They have extracted 3 baby molars without any preventive care. Now her mouth is crowded and there is malocclusion. I have prayed that I would find an orthodontist that could help. Thanks to yelp I'm so grateful I found Dr. Curtis. Two things about this place caught my interest: Tero Imaging scan and Damon Braces. No gooey impressions and no painful traditional braces with molar bands. Dr. Curtis has to fix a damage caused by other people and that in itself is short from being a miracle worker. We've had 4 visits so far. I know my daughter's case is not an easy case. She really has no teeth and you need teeth to anchor the wires.... and as her teeth comes in he'll have more options... but in the mean time he had to take his depth of knowledge into gear 4 and had to be creative with the wires in bending them for strength.... dang I was so impressed....that takes some mad skills.... I really feel that Dr. Curtis treats his patients as if he's treating his own daughters and sons. That requires a lot of thought and care.... and I truly feel my daughter is with great skillful hands. I feel so blessed to have found him for my daughter. I can finally forgive myself. His staff is at another level.... such care and professionalism and undeniable friendliness. Which is also a reflection of what a great Boss Dr. Curtis is...I can sense they all love working there... This is the beginning of a long journey but I feel hopeful. I no longer have nightmares about what I've put my daughter through... I figured I should update my review now that care has been completed. Things at Tagawa and Curtis started out great, as I pointed out in my previous review. They were organized and informational and all that. But then once I decided to go with them for my orthodontic care, I felt like the level of care dropped greatly. One thing that bothered me greatly was that their schedule was not very flexible. I am a grad student with a pretty busy schedule, and it was really hard to find appointment times that matched my schedule. They also want you to schedule visits wayyyy in advance, which was hard to do when my school ran on a quarter schedule and I wouldn't know my schedule 2-3 months out. It seems like they are open late enough (5:30 is what the website says), but when it comes to scheduling appointments it always seemed like the latest appointment was around 3, maybe 4. I would take this into consideration if you have a busy schedule or even just work a regular 9-5. Then there was the periodic visits. Why did it feel like every time I had an appointment I would show up 10-15 minutes early, but then end up waiting 10-15 minutes past my appointment time to be seen? And if you don't have an appointment (for example, rubber band popped off, anything broken, etc), be prepared to WAIT and WAIT. No matter how simple the repair may be. I was also disappointed with how little time the doctor spends with you versus the time spent with the dental assistant. Granted, they still make an effort. I got a call a day or two after I got my braces on asking how I was doing and tolerating the pain and discomfort. That's nice. The same phone call took place after a pretty harsh tightening of the wire, too. That was nice, too. But these 'nice' gestures were too few and far between all the negatives. Everything I stated in my previous review still holds true. The initial appointments were great and the wooden nickel program runs throughout the course of treatment (I think I got $20 in target gift cards--not a big dent on the thousands I spent there). I also do want to point out that I get compliments on my smile and teeth frequently. So the end result is there. I just don't know if I enjoyed the journey very much. read more

I just finished my adventure in orthodontia and let me say, I couldn't be happier! I had the Daemon braces another reviewer spoke of an really had no issue with brackets and wires braking.... Except the time I ate a raw carrot and the time I ate a fist full of almonds but that was totally my fault haha. All I know is that I had VERY croocked teeth and a big ol' snaggle tooth two years ago and now 22 months later I have a beautiful smile. I won't make my smile the focus of this review, however, because I kinda assume that all orthodontists can align teeth. Instead, I want you to know about the office itself. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the doctors were great and very knowledgeable, and the office has a great vibe overall. I was nervous about the thought of getting braces at 24 years old, but the crew at T&G really made the experience better than I could have imagined. I loved this office so much that when I moved to AZ three months ago I decided to stay with them.... Yes, I actually finished off my last three appointments at T&G rather than finding someone else in Phoenix. Crazy? Maybe. But that, my fellow Yelpers, is what having a wonderful staff and welcoming environment can do to a patient... And I think I'm okay with that. read more
