We have had a very bad experience with Houston Lightscapes. The crew they sent on the day of installation didn't have specific directions regarding what to do and aggressively took shovels to my driveway to rip out a wooden expansion joint, causing irreparable harm to the driveway on both sides of the expansion joint. It looks terrible. The owner's son initially said the right thing in saying they'll do whatever it takes to fix it but has recently downplayed the damage. The work was done very poorly, and the company has not been professional in addressing the damage. Additionally, I have seen commentary from the owner's son that they always allow the customer to review and see the work prior to seeking final payment. This is not true at all. I specifically requested to see the work before he ran my credit card, and he said that they way they do business is to be paid upon completion even if sight unseen. Be very careful with this company. We hired them because they had great reviews and presented themselves as professional. What has resulted is extensive damage to our property, a bad light job, and several hours/days of my time dealing with this. They have never even said they're sorry for what has happened. read more

Extremely expensive with terrible service!! Paid over $3,000 for what amounted to a bulb replacement on my existing landscape lighting system. Turns out they didn't even use all LED bulbs and the ones they did use could be purchased from Home Depot at $2.50/each. Also, they don't use a contract so you can't dispute their work or come back to them later on. This is a very shady business that takes your money and is never heard from again. Their light installation and demo was top notch. They're fulfilling of their warranty? Not so good. First off, they made us produce a receipt because they had no record of ever doing our install even tho it was slightly over a year ago. They insisted that we provide them with a copy of our receipt before they would replace a bulb. Yes, a single bulb that had gone out. Once they finally agreed to replace the bulb a date was set with a window of time they'd supposedly arrive. That time came and went, and then they wanted to reset to later on that same day. In essence tying us up ALL day over a single bulb replacement. Eventually we came to the conclusion that they were simply not going to honor the warranty which they provided and opted to purchase the replacement Philips 458513 20W Equivalent 12V Capsule LED Light Bulb via Amazon ourselves. Guessing that the idea of simply mailing us a replacement bulb too never crossed he Ackerman's mind. read more

I called this company , Micheal came but did not want give us a presentation he came to my house and waisted my time , I told him I want outside all outside Lights done once he arrived he wasn't motivated and not willing to give a presentation and said he will call us back really ? Can't comment on the quality of their work, but I can certainly say that Michael is VERY high pressure. Quoted me a price and kept pressuring me to sign an agreement right there on the spot. I explained I need to wait three weeks, but he kept pushing - even offering to cut his price by $1,000. When I called back three weeks later, they refused to honor the lower price offer. Given the extreme high pressure and the reneging on the initial price offer, I figured I was not dealing with a highly ethical operation, and I have now gone with their competition. read more

I spoke to them over the phone to get some idea on the costs and after it was in the "ballpark" of what I was willing to spend for the lighting project, they arranged for an appointment to have a look and give a proper quote. I guess they are busy and set an appointment for 2 weeks later. Mr. Michael (Owners son is what I was told by the gentleman himself) was very punctual and came to my property to look and give me a quote. He seemed a little irritated from the get go. He did answer all my questions though ( some of which a little unwillingly - that`s just my view). I asked him for the quote so I could discuss with my wife ( since we are planning on doing some other landscape projects + of course getting other quotes) and decide. It appears that he wanted me to say YES and start the project then and there. He was like "What do you want to discuss with your wife"? "IS she home now? Can I talk to her NOW"? "If I wrote a quote for $ 100, would you say YES". Extremely irrelevant and aggressive. Probably stereotyping and profling their customers is what I can think of? I could not stand the guy and his attitude anymore and asked him to leave my property. They just lost a $ 2k + job. I just had another company (more professional and courteous) have a look and will give them the job/project. Update : 23 Feb 2021 / Houston Lightscapes did contact me on 13th Feb after seeing the review and we had a very good conversation about what happened. They apologized and they were more than happy to resolve the issue. I am updating my review based on that and will definitely give them 5 stars (updated from 1 star) for the follow up and their attitude to undo the wrong. These folks are very unreliable. The work is done correctly but they don't stand behind the service. If the owner gets tired of dealing with you, he won't return your calls. I had even referred my father to them. 1 year later his light no longer works and the company hasn't shown up after multiple calls to repair his ONE LIGHT! We have both been forced to hire outside electricians to pay for work that HOUSTON Lightscapes won't stand behind. I even asked them to return and remove the installed lights because of frequent premature burned bulbs. I even offered to pay for the removal of the lights: still no call back. We moved to Houston a year ago and our new home had an existing lightscape, however a number of the lights were burnt out and were oddly placed. Houston Lightscapes came out and did a full demonstration on a new lightscape arrangement. Included in the price of redoing the front, they fixed the lights in our backyard (replacing some bulbs, fixing existing fixtures and even replacing 2 fixtures that couldn't be fixed). It looks amazing, we are very happy with the decision to redo it. In addition, we had a problem with 2 of the bulbs in the front yard about a week or 2 after installation and they returned to promptly fix it.
