Wow! We heard great news from a friend and was referred. They were so thorough and checked out every nook and cranny carefully. We did the full inspection $625 and also added the radon test for $250 add on. I had no idea what radon was and am SO glad we did it. We thought since this was a brand new gut rehab, we wouldn't need to add radon testing. Glad we still did bc our radon level came up high!!!! We contacted Jeff to inspect a house in Old Town Triangle at Concord Pl. that we wanted to buy. He arrived an hour earlier as we scheduled and started from the exterior. He did a lot of accurate comments and after all, he found that the house had a SERIOUS TERMITE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, and INDICATING THAT FOR HIM THAT COULD BE A TEARDOWN. After that, he found holes in the concrete around the house, where someone applied termite poison to kill them. Of course, we cancel the transaction, and even if it was a bittersweet situation, we are more than thankful to Jeff who did a GOOD JOB finding what someone tried to hide. So I was referred to HIT by my realtor who thought these guys were great. She was 100% correct. The inspector, Alex R, was professional and very thorough. We had a standalone house inspected and he took 4 hours to make sure he inspected everything. We ended up with 2 reports: 1 detailed and 1 summary. The detailed report was 68 pages with tons of details, pictures, and recommendations!! Not only did he detail this in the report but he took the time to explain it all to me. This was the third home inspector that I have worked with (2 previously for purchasing condos) and he was by far the best. By the way, they don't sugar coat anything. So be prepared for directness and having to make some hard choices on your own. read more
