We arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday morning and we were wrong to think that the place would be empty after an early breakfast rush. We were seating upon entering by Brooke who also was our server. The menu is varied and we found out that you can order anything at anytime. We had ordered the Spicy Pulled Pork omelette and Shrimp and Grits. Next time, we're thinking a Grouper sandwich as they were being enjoyed at two tables next to us and looked delicious. Our breakfast entrees arrived quickly. The omelette came with a choice of side and I chose the potatoes. They were seasoned but a bit cold and hard. Brooke offered to swap them out when checking on us, but by that time, I was filling up from the large packed omelette. It was filled with pork, peppers, onions and cheese with more spicy, sweet pork on top. I wish the entrees came with toast. The shrimp and grits were served over gouda grits as requested and the dish was spicy and filling. Definitely one of the best we tried in a while. Drinks were refilled promptly and Brooke took care of her guests quickly and with a smile.

I didn't care for the flavor in the shrimp batter and the fries were heavy coated with pepper. I generally like pepper, but it was a bit much. The grilled pork chop wasn't bad. I will say a $7 charge for a large chocolate milk that wasn't even that good of milk. Maybe we ordered poorly today. Our server was a 10/10.

And the food was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I even took it to go on the plane and brought the leftovers back to Texas for my lunch the next day. I had the 2 piece with 2 sides. Mac and cheese and green beans and it comes with an amazing homemade piece of cornbread. And of course our waiter was great. He kept the mimosas on the table flowing. I definitely recommend.

(Fish House, Atlas Oyster House, Jackson's Steak House, Five Sisters Blue's Cafe and Angelena's Ristorante Italiano. With Atlas and Angelena's setting the bar. Once greeted, we started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip, which was quit tasty. I had to try the Famous Fried Chicken (Dark) with Collards and Red Beans and Rice. The Fried Chicken was hot and delicious! The sides were way under seasoned, leaving me to doctor them with condiments. My wife really enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and Gravy with Mac n cheese and Fried Okra, which added to the comfort food enjoyment. My only wish would be, replacing the loud metal chair's on the concrete floors, which take away from the Blues Cafe Vibe. Glad we tried Five Sisters, but we will stick to our favorites in the future.

They hit that mark, but it cost me $40 with tax & tip. That is for just a salad and an order of french fries! The water came quickly in a real glass and tasted excellent. Very clean and cold, and greatly appreciated. Since it was a real glass I did not ask for a straw which is unusual for me. I enjoyed a nice view of the skatepark across the street as I dined, and watching all the people having a good time in the outdoors was refreshing. Most restaurants don't offer a view like this. There are a set of dining bars with chairs at the windows on either side of the door to amplify the view, but I opted for a traditional table since there were many available when I entered. As for the food... well, it was good, but not great. The $14 iceberg wedge was dotted with some delicious pancetta and gorgonzola cheese, and the lettuce was super fresh and crisp. Where it missed the mark was the overly mayonnaisey dressing. It really needed some more seasoning or something and I could not taste any buttermilk at all, even though it is called a "herb buttermilk dressing." The single cherry tomato (halved) was delicious and sweet, as were the 4 thin slices of radish. While the presentation was nice, it really needed more tomatoes and radish in my opinion, and a stoutly buttermilk dressing. The duck fat fries were crisp, too crisp. I enjoy the soft mushy potato inside the crispness of lard-fried potatoes, but very few of these offered that. They were generally too crisp, and some were crispy all the way thru making them a solid crisp. They came mostly unseasoned so I had to use the salt shaker generously. The sausage bits were good but a bit on the greasy side. The dipping sauce was mild, bland and oily, and I wished they had offered a ketchup alongside as well. Whether homemade or store bought, ketchup would have added color and some much needed acidity to the plate. Your mileage will vary, but for me, there are better options in my price range and this is not a place I can take hungry teenagers.

It was a busy Sunday morning, but we got a seat within 5 minutes and the staff here made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our drinks were never empty and our food came out quickly. Everyone working here was so friendly, especially the sweet old lady up at the front. I love the charm of old breakfast restaurants and this place checked every box; great food, awesome staff, and a cool location. From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in for a treat. Do yourself a favor and get the gravy, it's the best I've ever had. I got the simple breakfast and it was perfect, they even ask if you want any additional items added to your hash browns, so I had to go with some onion. I can't stop thinking about this place and I'm eagerly awaiting the next time we go.

The servers work together to keep coffee cups filled and to make sure everyone's happy. On to the food. It was great. The biscuits and gravy as well as the hash browns were off the hook! The eggs Benedict were reportedly very tasty, too. Lastly, a deep fried cinnamon roll rounded out the meal perfectly. There's no doubt in my mind... we'll be back!
