Stopped in this quaint little roadside diner to grab an early dinner. Walked in to an empty place…read morethat quickly filled with the evening rush. We settled on cheeseburgers that came out hot and fresh. Vegetables were cool, crisp and fresh providing a great accompaniment to the well seasoned hamburger patty. Topped with a slice of American cheese and a side of crisp tater tots this was a great meal on this blue sky summer day. Overall, this is a classic American diner featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and corn dogs. A local favorite also on the menu is the breaded or grilled pork tenderloin. In addition to hot food there was plenty of ice cream available for the sweet tooths in the crowd. We closed the deal with milkshakes; one vanilla and one black raspberry. Both hand-spun and excellent. Not so thick you couldn't get it through a straw but not so thin you felt like you were drinking a glass of milk. A perfect end to this classic American meal. Seating was plentiful; all tables and chairs arranged in groups of 2, 3 and 4 seat tables with a larger 6-top in the middle. The business also had a nice clean and well stocked restroom which always makes me feel better knowing that they have an eye for cleanliness. Price point was perfect for the quality and quantity of food you get. Overall this is a great little spot in Hagerstown in you are in the area looking for a quick bite to eat. My only critique is the staff... and this may have been an off day for the young man who took our order. I had never been here before so I asked the young man behind the counter what he recommended; what was the best thing on the menu. His response was a little stunning, "I don't know, I don't eat here much." This was a perfect opportunity to point me toward any menu item available but he missed the mark. Maybe just an off day and not enough to lower my rating but something I felt was worth noting.

It was extremely hot on this day and everything was sitting in the open, I still tried some of them that I fought the bees for. I purchased some of the Terrapin Ridge goods and also purchased a couple bags of their apples. It looked like you could try the apples too but all of those containers were empty. They had been open a few hours. I do not have young children so I did not try any of the outside activities. I have an orchard much closer that I love so I likely will not come back soon.

I thought that this liquor store was called The Campus Connection, because those are the words that are painted in red across the entire front of the building. But no, this place is actually called Friendly Package Liquors, and there's a small plaque by the door that tells you that information, in small letters. Friendly is located just down the street from Ball State University, so indeed, it really does have a connection to the campus. The people who work here are super friendly (thank goodness, because of the name of the store), and were ready and willing to help me find what I needed, even though I didn't need any help.

This location features both a restaurant and bakery alongside the production facility. I've had the pleasure of touring the factory and hope to take my kiddos one day (very Mr.Rogers-esque experience). As you walk through the front doors, you're promptly greeted by the pie display to make certain you save room for dessert. We bought sugar cream, coconut cream, and pumpkin chess (which I think is basically a sugar cream pie with pumpkin - mmmmmm!). Pie prices are super reasonable - anywhere fro $5-$9. We also bought a fresh banana cream pie that the checkout server had personally baked that morning! Love Wick's Pies and if you're within 45 mins, definitely come here to stock up.
