Prices weren't extravagant so one could try several things without declaring personal bankruptcy. True tea aficionados may turn up their noses at the large number of tea blends vs single leaf, but my overall experience here was enjoyable and intriguing enough that I will return to purchase some baking ingredients.

I did an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting -- everything was SO delicious. We ended up purchasing Tuscan Herb + Garlic olive oils, and Pomegranate, Raspberry, + Traditional balsamic vinegars. But it was incredibly difficult to choose our favorites. The dark chocolate balsamic vinegar is next on my list! We also purchased several varieties of their loose leaf tea. We're excited to add some of their seasoning mixes to our repertoire as well! They offer an incentive for bringing back their bottles, love to see that to encourage waste reduction! YES, PLEASE! They are tucked away in one of my favorite buildings that houses Blueline media down the hall (the old Tutto Benne building, just around the corner from Rainbow Bakery). Yarrow is on the first floor, next to the parking recessed parking lot. I found this collective on Instagram and fell in love. The plant photos they share make me want to fill my house from floor to ceiling and include Zebrina Calathea, curly ferns, wreath workshops, and figure drawing classes. My favorite post is when they said that even plant murderers are welcome (ha! I think anyone that has ever had plants has murdered at least one)! So many gorgeous plants and other lovely offerings. For Thanksgiving, I picked up the most gorgeous bouquet as a gift with protea blooms. Curbside pickup felt super safe and easy. They are currently by appointment most days and post shop hours on the website and insta. I made an appointment through insta and it was super easy.

First off, I instantly loved the vibe of this strip center location that's not too far down from Trader Joe's. This location is pretty solidly accessible with nearby accessible parking, appropriate curb-cuts, and a layout that I had almost no difficulty maneuvering. In case it's not obvious, Penzey's Spices specializes in spices. They also offer online ordering (free shipping with $49+). I have to admit I'm no expert when it comes to spices. I'm also not the most adventurous eater due to a fragile system. However, I've been venturing out of my comfort zone lately and I got lots of ideas from my visit to Penzey's. I have no idea how many spices they carry. It's a lot. I found the prices quite reasonable. I found items that I thought "I want to try that" and I mostly found the prices at such a good point that I would be willing to give it a try. Of course, some are more than others. That's life. Employees were friendly. The overall energy of the place was light and hopeful. They also offer gift boxes, trial bags, and accessories. However, when it comes down to it this is really a spice store and boy do they have amazing options. I believe in terms of corporate that Penzey's is based in Wisconsin. I'm just grateful they're here. They add such a spark to the Castleton area, and they seem perfect as a companion to the nearby Trader Joe's. It took me way too long to get here. Just pepper alone they probably have a dozen different flavor variations. We have over 80 spices in our pantry. Some of our go to are Frozen Pizza, it takes a Jack's frozen pizza to the next level. Others are Sandwich Sprinkle, Tuscan Sunset, Mural of Flavor and California Seasoned Pepper to name a few. If there isn't a location in your town you can always mail order from their website.
